    Ryker fled into the forests he loved as he escaped imprisonment from the King, taking the human archer who shot an arrow into his shoulder. He has plans to use her as an assassin but he also finds himself enthralled with her beauty, her charms, her warrior spirit, n her kind soul. When her life is threatened, he kills them, then takes her as his pledged bride to protect her from any more threats. As a Fostinian he's conspiring to regain the throne taken from him when the King murdered his father n took control of the palace n surrounding lands.
    This story sucks you in from beginning to end n gives you more insight into the world of the Herkleian empire.

    Seized by the Rebel Barbarian (Brothers of the Scarred Planet Book 2) by Trinity Blaise

    Unlike her sister, Charlotte had volunteered to come when her sister and nephew were to be taken from Earth by aliens. Now she's captured by an alien rebel and has troubles of her own. Taken into his forest refuge by Ryker, who has a claim on the throne. He ends up pledging with her to protect her from his own hostile supporters. But is it because he cares for her or is he just using her in his quest for power?

    The chemistry is strong, but the trust is not quite there at the beginning. Plots twists, intriguing story. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading Book 1 if you haven't already, it will add to your reading pleasure.

    I enjoyed this second book in the series Seized by the Rebel Barbarian much more than I did the first book of the series and was glad I decided to give the author’s work another try.
    Leads Charlotte and Ryker’s story is engaging, well written and filled with action, intrigue and romance. The world building was imaginative and delved deeper into the Skarsdonian society as well as introducing another the forest dwelling Fostinians. With its compelling narrative I was kept immersed in the story finding it to be a very good Sci-Fi Romance read.

    This is the second book in the series. Charlotte is to kill the Ryker the Rebel. She does not kill him, but she shoots an arrow in his shoulder. Ryker is imprisoned, to await his trial. Ryker escapes prison, and kidnaps Charlotte. Ryker wants her to kill the Grand Sovran. He wants to reclaim his throne as king, and his lands. He wants freedom for his people, and the captive human women. He, and Charlotte begin training in the village. Ryker has to kill a cousin, because he attempted to kill Charlotte. Her safety, and life now is in danger. Ryker makes Charlotte his Pledged to keep her safe. Their relationship changes, and they begin to care for each other. Will Charlotte kill her target? Will Ryker claim his throne as king? Will they be free? The story line flows well. The characters are well developed. I enjoyed reading this book. You need to read this book!.

    Action paced story with plenty of adventure, twist/turns, betrayals, and hot steam. Charlotte has decided to take her sister and nephew's place to be taken by aliens. Now she's in the forest with an alien rebel Ryker. There chemistry is not there at first because of trust issues but later on they have a strong relationship. Great storyline. Loved the characters. This is the second book in the Brothers of the Scarred Planet series. Can't wait till the next book.

    Charlotte is a prisoner of the Skarsdonians, albeit held in a gilded cage, tasked with killing their enemy number one, Ryker. Instead he escapes and takes her with him to his encampment where they form a relationship of convenience - at least at first. They must battle his and her peoples’ prejudices, the Skarsdonians, betrayal, and their own past pains to make it through to their own happy ending. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.

    I was told that I should read book one before reading this one, but I didn't and I still really enjoyed it. There are a few things that might have made more sense in the beginning of the book, but I was soon swept up in the adventure and it didn't matter as much.
    This one has everything I look for in a sci-fi romance. Sexy aliens, dangerous situations, secret and deceptions, twists and turns, and scorching chemistry between the characters. It also leads nicely into the next book which means I'll be going back and reading book one while anxiously waiting for book three.
