    I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I love everything written by this author. This whole series has been wonderful about a group of ex-con women who, upon leaving prison, are given an opportunity to settle at M and M Ranch, Second Chance Ranch. The first of the women to leave, Mickey, owned the ranch and made a place for her friends. Subsequent stories in the series are about each friend. This 4th one is about Natalie, former debutante, high society girl with $12,000 shoes, mean girl friends, sports cars, spa trips,etc. After her time in prison, Natalie's goal was to get her inheritance and go back to her pre-prison life. When her mother, who controlled the purse strings told Natalie she had 30 days to prove she could make a difference in someone's life and then they'd discuss her inheritance. Natalie thought of things that would make her look good, like get a dog, (she could give it away later), volunteer to help Mickey with the fundraiser (short term), work for Roland the vet (then she could quit). She wasn't going to completely unpack. Why bother. But Natalie met Roland and vice versa. And even though he thought she was bad for him, the sparks ignited!! She thought he was HOT and that he was NOT the nice guy everyone thought he was. He thought she was TROUBLE but oh so exciting. Did he want exciting? Didn't he want exciting? Such a great story. I couldn't put it down. Natalie has to decide what is worth more, money or relationships. You can find out what she discovers.

    The storie in the Second Chance Series are heartwarming, but I think this one was the best for me so far. Natalie grew up as a spoiled rich girl that after losing her father didn't have anyone to show her what it was to love and think of others first. She spent 3 years in prison for taking a family heirlooom that she believed was rightfully hers. She had no idea how much her life what change when she arrived at the M & M (aka Second Chance Ranch) when she literally fell out of the truck and found herself in the arms of a "nordic god", the town veterinarian, Roland

    Natalie is shunned by her mom when she goes to see her about her inheritance and is given an ultimatum in order to get access to her millions. Natalie's journey to finding herself and true happiness is an emotional roller coaster. Ms. Collins has written an incredible story that has you needing kleenex for tears of happiness, emotional hurt, and most of all what true love brings. Well done Ms. Collins! I highly recommend this series, although each story can be read without reading the others, I highly recommend reading them in order to have a true understanding of each of the characters in the story.

    After getting caught stealing a Cartier watch from her cousin (that she thought should have been hers because her grandmother left it to her) Natalie spent three years in prison. When she was released and her mother didn't come to pick her up, she was thankful that Mickey did and took Natalie to her ranch - the M & M Ranch aka the Second Chance Ranch. At the ranch, Mickey takes in women from prison, giving them a cabin to live in and friends. They work on the ranch which Natalie had no idea how to do but she did learn. Living and working on the ranch was the complete opposite of her pampered, debutant life before prison. She expected to get her inheritance when she got out of prison but her mother told her that she had to wait for 30 days and prove she could make a difference in the world before getting the money. While Natalie didn't like it she thought "how hard can it be?". She got a dog to prove to her mother she could make a difference, finding out just how hard it could be.

    She met Roland, the ranch vet and tried to get him in bed. It was never a problem to get a man before and after three years in prison, she wanted one - badly. But Roland didn't do one-night-stands. He wanted a permanent partner. They finally worked out this problem. Then you've got to grab the fan and some ice water either to drink or pour over your head because the heated passion and explosive chemistry are coming at you full force.

    I liked Roland's nice guy persona even though he wasn't always nice when he was trying to protect his heart. Because the was handsome, big and intelligent all the women wanted him. But Natalie was the only woman he wanted. It was hard to like Natalie at the beginning when she was the spoiled, rich girl but she changed drastically at the ranch, becoming a thoughtful friend to many others and a hard worker.

    This is an inspiring story of second chances. It shows how we can learn who we are and who we could be with a bit of effort.

    That was one heck of an emotional roller-coaster. I adore Roland. I have adored him from the moment he first stepped foot onto the grounds of the M and M Ranch. Natalie was quite a different matter. It took most of the book for me to warm up to her. In fact, for the better part of the first half I really didn't like her at all and I couldn't see what it was that made the two of them a good partnership. But then she started grow into a woman she was proud to become, someone worthy of the friendships she had, and it all started to make sense. I loved watching Roland open himself up to and learn to trust that woman.

    A good storyline, but like the others in the series very sad in parts. It gives an insight into how bad things are in jail and how they suffer for one wrong mistake. One had a witness lying, another had a jealous girlfriend who set up her up for the fall. A lot of injustice in the 5 prisoners who made friends and helped each other. Worth the read. Looking forward to book 5.

Natalie who is used to living the high life has to adjust to going without so much luxury. Lucky for her a good man and great friends are there to support her.
    Great read, it's nice all the books in the series tie together without having to rehash all the previous books. I recommend this book and the whole series.
