Shadow Wolf: A Rejected Mates Shifter Romance (Shadow Pack Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 2,379 ratings

What do you get when you mix a pissed off omega wolf in heat with a wicked, possessive alpha?
Trouble—in the form of Phoenix Adair.

The brutal alpha of our rival Shadow Pack has a reputation for serving up malice and pain. Where he comes from, wolves roam free and lawless.

A treaty forged over a hundred years ago is the only thing standing between all-out war between our packs.

We’re Willow Creek wolves–refined, traditional, obedient, and I play the part of a good, little fiancée to Zade Crawford–my betrothed, and the alpha’s son. My future has been mapped out, which means I know who I am and what my purpose is.

Until I lock eyes with Phoenix at the treaty renewal, and the unthinkable happens.

Phoenix fucking Adair is my moon-fated mate.

Before I can process this life-altering news, the asshole publicly rejects me,
and I find out everyone has been lying to me my entire life. That’s when I know it’s time to make some changes.

Leaving Willow Creek is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I refuse to remain in a place that feels so wrong.
Except, I know nothing about what it means to be a shifter, nor how to survive without the creature comforts I’ve known all my life.

When I cross into forbidden land, danger finds me.

And then I find the one wolf I fear the most.

Phoenix
fucking Adair.

Shadow Wolf is a full-length rejected mates, wolf shifter romance. There are strong omegaverse themes throughout, so please read the author’s note. Due to the explicit language and steamy scenes, it is intended for readers 18+. While not considered a dark romance, there are darker themes present (see author's note). It is book one of the Shadow Pack trilogy, and while it doesn’t end with a true cliffhanger, there are unanswered questions.

If you like your alphas sweet and caring but with fiery, touch-her-and-you-die vibes, this book is for you. If you like kickass females who aren’t afraid to talk back, this book is for you. Happy reading!

About the Author

Amanda Richardson writes from her chaotic dining room table in Yorkshire, England, often distracted by her husband and two adorable sons. When she's not writing contemporary and dark, twisted romance, she enjoys coffee (a little too much) and collecting house plants like they're going out of style.

TJ Clark is a New York-based actor and writer with a BFA in theater from Syracuse University. He has starred in a number of incredible stage productions, working with The Araca Group, Nose Dive, The Vampire Cowboys, The Electric Pear, and many other wonderful creators. He is the writer/creator of the award-winning web series So SOHA and the award-winning short film We Remember. When he isn't recording an audiobook or working on set, he is taking care of his numerous houseplants, improving his baking skills, or teaching his cat Ginger new tricks.

It's been five years since that fated day and she was now at her first official meeting and introduction as the betrothed of the future alpha of the Willow Creek Pack. They were waiting for the alpha of the Shadow Pack to sign the treaty that has been between the two rival packs for generations.

Adrienne had been thirteen when she realized that you don't grow up gradually but instead, there's one moment that forces you to and today was that defining moment. How could her parents do this? Zade, her best friend and the future alpha had stolen his parent's car and they were watching the sunset after they found out that they had been betrothed since they were babies.

As soon as Adrienne had learned of the rare moon-fated mates she had always wondered if she would find her mate, but now it would never happen. Just the thought of marrying her best friend and all it entailed sickened her.

As soon as the Shadow Pack alpha and his enforcer arrive her wolf goes crazy filling her with confusion because she realizes that she has just met her moon-fated mate... and not only is she engaged to another but the Shadow Pack is their enemy.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. This is book one of the Shadow Pack trilogy and I know some don't like cliffhangers and duets/trilogies but you definitely want to read this story.

Adri has never felt like she belonged. Where she was small and dark her family was tall and blonde. Everyone in their pack was blonde and the girls jealous that she was engaged to the future alpha made sure to make her feel even more outcast. Then she finds out why she is different - something she was never supposed to find out, but the worst betrayal was that Zade, her best friend, had known and kept it from her.

This book is action-packed from page one and will keep you turning the pages as this story of betrayal and fated mates unrolls. Full of anger and betrayal Adri decides to leave in the middle of the night to be anywhere but near those who have lied to her all her life. She needed to be as far away as she could get and find out who she really was.

Highly recommend!

Adrianne is an omega wolf as far as her family is concerned, but that doesn’t feel entirely right for her. The fact her life is planned out for her gets under her skin. When she meets the alpha of the rival pack at a treaty signing, the mate bond shows itself. He rejects her in front of her family. Afterwards, her life is thrown upside down and all she thought she knew was fake. Her journey leads her to where she was meant to be, but her past refuses to let her go. I enjoyed this book. I hope the rest of the series is as good, if not better.

Book 1 a Shadow Pack series gets 5 STARS & provides a great BLURB for the readers. It is well written & besides being action packed, sex driven, it also gives the reader lots of emotional situations similar to people's experiences. that has one feeling along with the characters.

Great characters with plenty of issues.

More or less 3.75 stars.
Adri believes her whole life is planed for her. Betrothed to her best friend and future alpha, she thinks she needs to “make do”, even if there is no real attraction.
But one fateful evening she meets her fated mate, and her world turns upside down with new revelations about her life.

It was interesting even though I felt the character development was a bit shallow, and sometimes the plot “lagged”.

Ok, if you think two mans or woman can’t have kids together you’re bigoted. Just this ended the book for me. The heroine’s annoying and this is not a romance. One night in his bad and she is in love. Her friend change in the book is sudden too. I just wanted a good rejected mate book, why can’t I find one? Why everything is full of ideology and this messages?

A different style of shifter story to me. I really enjoyed how the background story was gradually revealed and how it explained why the characters behaved as they do. I can’t wait for the rest of the series well written.

I enjoy shifter romance. This is the first book I've read by this author. I liked the characters- Adri is a strong female hybrid Alpha-Omega (first time I have encountered hybrids).
Phoenix is the Alpha of the Shadow Pack and Adri's fated mate.
Well-written. Good story development and interesting secondary characters. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
