    This story continues from Fostered Identity. The characters are older and their history is becoming part of their present. Lana has found her daughter's father, but what kind of man is he now? She has to know if she will allow him in her life. Shelia has gotten one of Mrs. Stephanos 'baubles' after her foster mother has passed away. Why would anyone send her a worthless piece of jewelry? There are questions, but what are the answers? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

    A page turning story. Lana and her mother are keeping secrets from each other. Lana as to who the father of her young child is. Her mother has never talked about her life as a child. As they both work at a homeless shelter everything starts falling apart for each of them. A strange woman show up in the mothers life. The secrets they both hold includes foster care, and jewelry from when they were teenagers that they had to take care of which is being hunted for by some unsavory men. They each received a piece of the jewelry not knowing how much it’s worth. Lana also thinks she saw the father of her child who she’s been looking for. She gets mixed up with a couple of men where they all end up living in a nightmare. There lives, her life, her mother’s life, and her child’s life is in extreme danger. You’re not sure who is going to make it through everything that’s happening. Keeps your attention from putting this book down, and keeping you up late into the night. You have to find out how it all ends. Highly recommended. Can’t wait for the next book.

    Oh this series is so exciting with many thrills, chills, characters you will adore and hate with a passion! There is something for everyone in this sparkling story, crime, undercover cops, and intense relationships, some very good and some Oh So bad!! This author writes an intriguing story that keeps you flipping those pages quickly as the twists and turns have you trying to guess what happens Next! Believe me you have no way of knowing What will happen...
    I loved the relationship between some of the characters, especially Jordan and Damien, as Lana tries to figure out if her child's father is good or bad some woman who grew up in a strange foster home start receiving objects in the mail. Who is sending them and Why? They look like items they oogled as young girls, but they can't be real,Can they?!
    A fantastic story that leaves you ready for more, and still thinking about the endearing characters long after you finish the book....I received an ARC from the author and I offer you my honest thoughts and feelings in this review.

    Very interesting Book 2 in this series. You must read Book 1 since it ends right as Book 2 begins. Characters are very, very interesting, and much different from most other mystery novels. It starts with priceless jewelry being mailed to women. From there you are immersed into a very convoluted story of jewel thieves, undercover police, drug gangs, downright evil and family abuse, all mixed in with three to four families and homelessness, murder, theft, foster care, secret adoptions and drugs. At the beginning of the book, you immediately enter into the world laid out for you in Book 1 and proceed through so many twists and turns and character changes from good to bad that you sometimes feel you need a spread sheet to keep everything straight. Very satisfying conclusion. Really enjoyed the story and hope to ready many more of them. I thank the author for sending me an ARC. I enjoyed the story so much I am not only providing my honest review I also pre-ordered Book 3.

    Shadowed Footsteps is book 2 in The Twisted Deception Suspense Thriller Mystery Series. All the stories in this series are written as stand alone novels. But there is a background story that connects them all. Maggie Thom is a gifted author. This is a unique novel. It kept me spellbound from page one to the very last word! The tension and relationships are beautifully written and will keep readers coming back for more. I got chills up my spine more than once. I can't wait to see what happens next. I gave this honest, voluntary review after being given a free copy of the novel.

    In this book we meet Jordie and his brother Damian, Jordie became an undercover cop, posing as a homeless person, to catch his father, Joe, a life long thief. Sheila, from book 1 works at Caring Matters, a place that helps homeless people, he daughter that just moved to town, Lana and her year old daughter Tasha. These lives are all entwined with each other in many ways, they are keeping things from each other and this makes for a very interesting fast pasted mystery with a great outcome. A must five star read.
