Either there is more than one writer, or the author forgets what they said even one paragraph before. They also don't think about what they sometimes and will contradict what they said several times.

After a while they also get sloppy on the writing, not proofreading their text.

But the story itself is excellent. So note to the author, PROOFREAD, AND GET THE STORY STRAIGHT. I've read both stories now, but hate to stop because the errors take too much away from the storyline.

Paige is an amazing character that you really get to enjoy watching her character develop from a spoiled princess to a strong warrior, ready to sacrifice herself to protect those she loves. I love the way the narrator goes from Paige, to Lucy, and Eric through the books so you gain a different perspective throughout the story. Once again, I was unable to stop reading this series and I still doubt want it to end. Well, obviously I don’t want another war, but I would love to see the characters grow more through their new lives.

Not a bad read, and doesn't come across as quite as juvenile as the previous sequence (it is the younger sister and she is more age true).

The plot is extremely similar to the Montrose series, right down to the stone-destroying tasks.

The powers are a bit better developed/understood, and the angel is a bit more forthcoming, and I found I coud read it through - whereas the previous one I took a break between books, and often within, since it was a bit much to bear but still interesting enough to see how it went.

Putting it a bit differently, this sequence seemed better paced and more tightly written.

Barbara Hartzler is an absolute genius, I've read the original Montrose Academy series and the Shadowstone Academy series and both were amazing. I managed to read this boxset in a day and a half. I preferred this series to the original Montrose series but both are incredible. I would recommend Barbara Hartzler to anyone and everyone.
