About the author

Suzan trained as a newspaper journalist and worked on regional and national newspapers before moving into TV production at Central and Granada Television Studios. She produced a variety of television news and lifestyle programmes and was Series Producer of ITV’s network daytime talk show Loose Women.
Married to musician, actor and presenter Noddy Holder, Suzan has one son, two step-daughters and two step-grandchildren. She loves music, dancing, dirty martinis and clunky (rather than kinky) boots.
Suzan has written for newspapers, television and theatre and is now thrilled to have written her debut novel Shake It Up, Beverley for One More Chapter; a romantic comedy about Beatles fan Beverley and her internet dating adventures.
The book is adapted from Suzan’s original stage play Shake It Up Baby which has been performed around the UK and was scheduled for a major theatre tour prior to the pandemic. Suzan is planning to reinstate the tour as the theatre world returns to normal.
She is now busy writing more romantic comedies with a musical twist.
Her second novel 'Rock 'n' Rose' set at Graceland, Elvis Presley's Memphis home, is due to be published Summer 2022.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book is such a treasure!! A great work of fiction with many fact-based things about The Beatles and Liverpool UK. The story is a treasure, very well-written with many twists and turns. Have already read it twice and associate many things with it as my husband is from Liverpool so it brings many things home on a personal level. You will totally love everything about it and will be left wanting more!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis will appeal to those who like Helen Fielding (Bridget Jones) books. To be frank not my cup of tea, but probably a good example of the genre. It was an enjoyable, if instantly forgettable, read

5.0 out of 5 stars I recommend it with pleasure!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI'm not normally a lover of novels but more of a lover of biography and a big lover of music including Slade and Noddy Holder in particular.
I didn't know what to expect with this first novel by author Suzan Holder. I totally hooked on the novel which is a story in a musical Beatles context in Loverpool. This author is very talented!
I had great evenings reading this book. I recommend it with pleasure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Like a big Beatles hug!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI’m not a big fiction reader - and I’m a slow reader anyway - but I loved listening to this book! As a life-long Beatles fan, and someone with a soft spot for British rom-com films, this was a perfect read. I loved the references to various Liverpool locations that I knew and loved and I could easily imagine the people and and places. I can imagine Martin Kemp or Hugh Grant playing Scott!😄 it made me think of my own Beatles collection, the Beatley memories I have and the time I met a Beatle! I also appreciated the song references that were scattered throughout. And various ‘in-jokes’ and references. If the Beatles are in your life, this book will be like a lovely Beatles hug. Oh and I can especially recommend the audio as the narrator does a very good Sally Lindsay!!!😀 a great book and I hope there’s more from Bev in the future!

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh out loud tribute to The Beatles
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis delightful book is a tribute to the Beatles but also to the city of Liverpool itself. I loved all of the references to the Fab Four's songs but also the descriptions of areas in the city. I could envision each place in my mind which all helped to create a believable story.
Beverley is a lovely character; you desperately want her to find happiness and are rooting for her throughout the book. The story is told from her point of view, like you are sat chatting over a cocktail together. She is obsessed with The Beatles (she owns every kind of souvenir possible) but her adoration for them can be both a help and hindrance in her quest to find true love.
This is a perfect holiday read, sit back and enjoy the tale. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself singing random Beatles lyrics for days afterwards!

4.0 out of 5 stars A “Fab” Read
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book, by talented new author Suzan Holder, is about Bev, a widow and mother of 3 young adult boys, who is a big fan of the “Fab Four” Bev has a huge and valuable collection of Beatles memorabilia in pristine condition which she treasures and which is her nest egg. When she decides to try her luck at on line dating her world is turned topsy turvy with twists and turns that are both funny and sad and traumatic. I found this book exciting because there were so many facts and truths about The Beatles and so much information which was well researched. It’s a real page turner and I didn’t want it to finish. Highly recommended, very enjoyable and well worth the journey down memory lane to Liverpool and the Mersey music scene.
