As a struggling reader who grew up on a secluded farm without television, Deanna had to rely on her imagination for entertainment, and every one of her stories included a prince charming or knight in shining armor. After 20 years as a public school literacy and special education teacher, Deana decided to take a leap of faith and share some of her stories with the world.

If she isn’t in her office or out in her hammock writing, she can be found baking in the kitchen, hiking in the Smokey Mountains, or relaxing at the beach. She currently lives on the west coast of Florida with her husband and their 17-year-old Manx cat, Harley, who is totally queen of the castle.

Such a warm, feel good story!
This was such a warm, feel good story! I adored the Santa village and its backstory. I thought it was cute and I'd love to go there myself! The friendship that blossomed between Seth and Mack was wholesome. My heart was bursting when she listened wholeheartedly + talked with Seth essentially about letting the weight go from the incident on the ice with his brothers when they were younger. In such a short amount of time, they formed a wonderful friendship. It also beautifully portrayed that the amount of time being with someone isn't everything and when you know, you know. Not going to lie, this book had me dragging out our Christmas decor to decorate for the holiday season already. I've already set up our porch tree and decor, and I'm usually a strict "weekend of Thanksgiving" decor person. This is another standalone in a multi-author series, Sweet Christmas Kisses, that you should add to your holiday TBR! 🎁 insta-love 🛷 forced proximity 🎁 cinnamon roll 🛷 saving Christmas 🎁 small town 🛷 damsel in distress

    This book is part of the Sweet Christmas Kisses multi-author series. This is the story of Seth and Mack, and it is so cute! If you enjoy Hallmark Christmas movies, then you will enjoy this book. Seth was on his way home for Christmas, got caught in a blizzard and ended up taking a wrong turn. He found himself in a ditch on the property of Mack’s family. Mack saw his flashers and went to see if he was ok. Well, she ended up saving his life by inviting him into her family’s home and out of that truck where he would have frozen to death.

    They spend the next several days getting the farm ready for Christmas and Seth also gets handed a list of farm chores for each day. Her family is trying to make it home in time for the Christmas festivities happening on the farm. Seth and Mack have chemistry right away. I just love the way they get along, their banter and the way he can calm her down with his gentle self. It’s so great. For being a shorter story, there is more depth than I thought there would be. The story talks a lot about family, family values and bringing family together.
    I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a good clean Christmas romance. It’s a really good, cute story.

    Gotta love a good "he falls first" story! I loved how Seth, from the very beginning, just pitches in and helps Mackenzie, easing her stress and burdens. That's swoon-worthy right there!     The story of Seth and Mac is well written. The description of the area as well as of the people brings the story to life. Each main character is described in such a way that one easily visualizes the people as well as the area. The story is a story of two families as well as a love story. This is not a book that brings one to the edge of the seat but rather a sweet story where characters feel like friends.

    However with home being in Florida makes it hard to understand living in the amount of snow with which they had to contend.

    I look forward to more books by Deanna Lilly.

    Another great story in the Sweet Christmas Kisses series. This was the story of Mackenzie (Peppermint) and Seth (Tinsel). She rescued him but then he rescued her and helper pull off her family's Christmas for the towns people in Cloverdale. I felt like I was there feeding the animals and mucking the stalls. Great love story and HEA. I can easily imagine what happens next.

    This story was delightful, easy to read, and a definite page turner. It was wonderful how this little town pitched in to help each other, which is something we can all do, considering the storms we have had this year and their devastation.
    Christmas is about family and others, and this book took me back to past family Christmas’.
    Librarians are a special breed of people who give so much of themselves to help others. I especially appreciated the way this librarian reached out to her community and served so many with her love for books. The things she did were simple and some cost nothing but time to do; we could all learn something from her example and make this world a better place.
    Yes, this story has romance that is a wonderful example of how relationships should be built and developed. It also ends with this author’s HEA. A great read, I highly recommend it for people of all ages.

    Seth, on his way home for Christmas, is rescued from a storm by Mackenzie. Seth is going to disappoint his family (again), and Mackenzie has more work to do on the family farm than is humanly possible. Fortunately, Seth is willing to pitch in and help her, and in the process learns from her the importance and blessings of being part of a family. I really enjoyed the various scenarios that helped Seth to see how much Mackenzie valued her family and see for himself the rewards of being committed to something more that just himself. Feeling drawn to each other, can they work out his traveling job, with her family farm?
    I have enjoyed all the books in the Hickory Falls series and related stories, so I was very happy to meet Seth, Eric's absent brother in this book. This is a standalone in the Sweet Christmas Kisses Series and also ties into the Mountain Men of Whispering Pines. I recommend this book along with the rest of the books in both series.
