SLICED TO DIE: A Grace Gabbiano Mystery (Book 2) (Grace Gabbiano Mysteries) Kindle Edition
Never ask, “What next?”
Life has settled down in Coburg, Oregon since the crimes of the century are finally becoming a manageable memory for the town’s citizens and its police department. But suddenly, things change...
An urban myth rears its ugly head
Sergeant Grace Gabbiano’s fire-chief brother is expecting his life-long friend Benny for a weekend visit. The problem is, someone’s taken a kidney out of Benny. Without his permission. The only visiting he’ll be doing for a while is from a hospital bed.
Three neighboring police jurisdictions and the FBI come to call on Coburg PD. Seems that more than one horny man in the county has been seduced for his kidney recently and it’s time to take action. One agency has a plan that will involve Grace. Whether she wants to participate or not, Chief Aidan Cruz has already volunteered her for hooker duty.
Everything’s just dandy
Turning faux tricks on the street nets Grace a new social network, a lot of jaw-dropping information, and more trouble than she bargained for.
And then bodies start to pile up.

About the author

Ann Simas lives in Oregon, but she is a Colorado girl at heart, having grown up in the Rocky Mountains. She has been an avid reader since childhood and penned her first fiction "book" in high school. She particularly likes to write mystery/suspense/thriller with a love story and paranormal or supernatural elements. She is a three-time RWA Golden Heart Finalist. Simas currently has 42 books in print. All are available in both paperback and in ebook format.
An award-winning watercolorist and a budding photographer, Ann also enjoys needlework and gardening in her spare time. She is her family's "genealogist" and has been blessed with the opportunity to conduct first-hand research in Italy for both her writing and her family tree. The genealogy research from decade's old documents in Italian, she says, has been a supreme but gratifying challenge.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2024I am so loving this series. Great way to spend an afternoon, getting lost in all the family drama and office politics
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2016This is the second book in the Grace Gabbiano Mystery Series. It is a great read. This is a fast moving mystery with a fair amount of sexual tension. In addition to educating the reader about illegal organ harvesting, there is a real focus on family values. The book highlights life in a small Oregon town. There are a lot of interesting twists and turns always keeping the reader focused on what is coming next. This is one of Ann Simas's best books. I can't wait for the next one

Highly recommend this book!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2020Another fun romp through Grace's life, although I guess calling a mess of murders a fun romp is a bit over the top. However, it was enjoyable and Grace's family and friends were up to the challenge as usual!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2016Sliced to Die is the second book in a series about Sgt. Grace Gabbiano who lives in Coburg OR. There is a lot of humor in this book, even though it is a mystery and has to do with murder. It is hard to put Ann's books down. They read very well and grab your attention from the start. All of Ann Simas' books have very engaging characters. They are written as people you would like to know in your own life. I love Grace's family members, friends, and the people that she works with. Grace finds herself in some very interesting situations as she goes undercover for the Coburg Police Department. I recommend this book highly.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2018This one is difficult to review. While I love the character development, Graces relationships with her family and co workers, and the story/plot, it's deserving of 5 stars and more. That being said I'm giving it a 3 because the author needs to do a better job at getting facts straight and please please get an editor. Way too many errors. This part deserves a single star if any.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2016Just finished reading Sliced to Die by Ann Simas. I love a book that has characters you like, is easy to read, and hard to put down! This book does not disappoint! Ann may claim to be a "Colorado girl at heart" but her wit, imagination and writing skills are amazing. Good job Ann and keep 're coming!
