Snuggle Season: Set in the world of Heron Manor (Burrowing Hearts Book 1) Kindle Edition
Tonight I meet my mate. I don’t know anything about him, including his name. According to fox shifter tradition, my parents chose him for me.
For the next month we’ll be living together in a remote cabin. That’s how fox shifters form a bond. We burrow with our intended for a full month of winter.
My fathers say my new mate is kind, and he won’t mind that I don’t look like other omegas. But I’m nervous. What if he’s disappointed?
Or even worse, what if he’s someone I could never bring myself to love?
Snuggle Season is a low angst MM romance with MPreg, knotting, and lots of cuddling. It’s set in the same world as Amy Bellows’ other shifter books, but it stands alone.

I can’t even put into words how beautiful it is. I didn’t want it to end.
Now I have to see what other books this author has written.
Thank you, Amy Bellows, for creating such a sweet and wonderful story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2023This book has a slightly different perspective on shifters than the norm. In this version they can have some of the same ailments as humans and they do not shift after injuries. But the burrowing with a potential mate chosen by the parents has its merits. I enjoyed how, even though still quick by human standards, they burrow for a month with no outside interference of any kind. This forces them to get to know one another and gradually build a bond instead of instantly bonding like wolves. I liked how each of them kept pushing to do the "right" thing and follow the steps because they wanted the bond so badly. Sweet and different, perfect for a quick read.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2022A sweet, shorter story about fox shifters Weston and Adam and their burrowing season.
I loved the burrowing rituals and getting to know how the foxes bond and I love how Adam and Westons parents really got the best possible match for their sons.
A good book for when you need something sweeter.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2024This book was so heartwarming. It really shows how important communication and understanding are to a relationship. It also shows how important getting to know someone before physical intimacy is. I absolutely love Adam. He’s such a good alpha and he’s so perfect for Wes. Definitely recommend reading this if you want a short and sweet shifter romance.

A well-written, easy to read, sweet and sexy story. It was fun to explore another version of omegaverse, and with shifters, too. Creative work. (Foxes are too cute to handle! Especially the ones frolicking in the snow 🤭) And quick-to-fall-in-love theme was done well and believable so props for that.
Certainly have plans to read more from this author!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2022It's been awhile since I've read mpreg, but boy am I glad I read this one! It was truly good! Wes and Adam were perfect for each other from the start. It was funny how they made the rules work for them! It was so good! And I really liked how it showed that it really does take a village and just how important family is. This was a new author for me, but she now has new fan!! I will definitely be reading some of her other books.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2021This is a paranormal shifter romance. I can’t believe that it’s not even been a year since I read my first mpreg book (also by Amy Bellows)! I went from “WTF did I just read?” To eye leaking at the incredibly sweet story I just read. Amy world-building makes me believe and once again this world is different than the rest of the shifter mpreg books but consistent within the Heron Manor world! Gosh, give this one a chance

Questo libro è un caldo abbraccio, l'ideale da leggere in un giorno d'inverno, al caldo sul divano con una tazza di tè. Gioia garantita.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!
Absolutely loved this one. I just loved following Wes and Adam during their burrowing. I love that all the shifters in this world have their own customs. This was a lovely read for a rainy weekend. That's a lot of 'loved' 'love' and 'lovely' but I think you get the picture.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely
I actually read the 2nd book first then came back to this one. I don't think it really mattered but I liked the cute connection between the two like the board game.
I really loved this book it was sweet with a little twist.

5.0 out of 5 stars The path to love
I wasn't certain about this story because there were some pretty set circumstances that were really irking me but I was impressed how it all turned out in the end!
All shifters are different and for fox shifters finding a mate means sharing a den for a month and seeing if you bond. Not only do you need to do this alone, but it has to be with someone you don't know so your parents pick them out. Aaaand to bond they have to follow steps and not go too fast together otherwise their animals won't form a bond. It is a complicated set of circumstances and sometimes it takes a few tries before you find your match- because if you don't bond the first time you never will.
Obviously this is a pretty stressful set of circumstances for what is hopefully a happy ending. It was hard to get behind this because there is a constant feeling of "doing it wrong". If they bond too fast it's wrong, too slow it's wrong, don't spend enough time or too much time together, wrong, wrong, wrong! Really, every relationship is different so having these set rules, even for a fantasy relationship, just didn't sit right. But it turns out that is what this story really is about. The pair in this book struggle with those rules too, wanting to do it right but finding difficulty in following the set path at times, and then questioning what it means for them. It took some turns and lots of deep thoughts and emotions which I really loved creating a very complete and beautiful story. A truly excellent read!
