So Not Meant To Be Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 44,820 ratings

From USA Today and Amazon Charts bestselling author Meghan Quinn, comes a fresh take on a romantic comedy classic, When Harry Met Sally. This steamy, laugh-out-loud, enemies to lovers romance is about an annoyingly handsome coworker and the woman who refuses to be charmed by him.

Am I friends with JP Cane?

Ha! That's laughable.

Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie
When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons . . . multiple times a day.

So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, twenty-four-seven. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

The man doesn't know what it means to wear a shirt, thrives off protein bars, and you guessed it, moans loud enough for people to believe he's Meg Ryan in a restaurant.

Spoiler Alert: I WON'T be having what he's having.

Tack on his continuous flirting and his polished good looks, and I'm caught staring down the barrel of a seductive temptation that makes it hard for me to sleep at night.

But guess who can control herself? This girl.

Because if there is one thing I know for certain, it's that JP Cane and I are so not meant to be.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🐦Cane Brothers Book #2 (JP & Kelsey) 🐦Dual POV 🐦Billionaire Boss 🐦Rom-Com 🐦Enemies to Lovers 🐦Friends to Lovers 🐦Forced Proximity 🐦🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 🐦a pigeon named Kazoo 👏🏻👏🏻 this series is 🤌*chef’s kiss* 😂 I was legit laughing my ass off (the pantsing scene 🤣🤣🤣) I felt like this one was spicier than book 1 🥵 I need so much more of the Cane Brothers 😋 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make this into a movie or mini series 🎥🎬🎞️ “I want to be worshipped. I want to be important in someone’s life. I want to be the person someone calls when they need advice or have big news . . . or just want to hear my voice. I want to be surprised with flowers at my apartment door. Whisked away to somewhere I’ve never been. Thought of nearly every second of every day because I consume someone’s thoughts. I want the real. The ugly. The pettiness that comes with relationships. The teasing. The arguments. The laughs. The love. The romance.” “Those words aren’t meant to save a relationship, they’re meant to fortify it. Don’t say it to make me feel better.” ( I LOVE YOU) Available on Kindle Unlimited ❤️

Following this series from Not so meet cute since I can’t get enough of this author. Even though it as funny as the first book of the series but give more emotional work through, learn to trust and work on the characters emotions and trauma. I was so invested that I don’t even care for the spicy part.

Great read, enjoyed it all - except the email scandal of course! Great storyline and characters, looking forward to continuing with them.

Note: On page 128, JP mentioned the two weeks in SF before Huxley told them about it. Also on their date the hoodie disappeared. Just small details, but they matter.

While this book was entertaining enough for me to finish it, it was way too long. It would have been improved by being reduced in length by about one-third. It's the weakest of the Cane Brothers trilogy.

It also had too much sex in it, and what it had was anatomically impossible. I will not go into detail here, but in my admittedly untrained opinion, the heroine would have been dead many times over had she been real and tried some of the things that are listed as happening in the book. Wildly improbable sex acts do not make a good love scene.

Incidentally, sex scenes and love scenes are not the same thing. It is certainly accurate to classify me as a prude. But "Shall We Dance" in the King and I, and the Landler dance in the Sound of Music are way more imbued with love and romance than the sex in this book.

If you want to read Meghan Quinn, try The Highland Fling, which I loved. This is not a strong entry in her oeuvre.

I started this book thinking it was just a sweet romance with maybe a couple humorous paragraphs. Boy, was I wrong.

In my 32 years of life, 28 of them as a reader, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much while ferally consuming a book. I burned a batch of cookies I was baking because I was having a laughing fit and didn’t hear the timer to take them out of the oven.

Both Kelsey and JP are wonderfully-crafted characters that the reader can relate too.

The spice is pretty nice too.

JP is the most lovable of all the men I’ve read so far!! Except maybe Hardy… but they are very similar! Kelsey is a bit of a challenge but I relate to some of her insecurities and OCD! 😂

Loved the romance and the comedy of this! It had me laughing out loud. And the ending was everything I needed in a goof romcom.

J'ai bien aimé être lecture mais malheureusement je n’ai pas autant rigolé que pour le premier tome de cette série. De plus je trouve le personnage de Kelsey très différent dans ce tome que dans le précédent.

There was no way I could not love this book. Personally I found myself relating too much to Kelsey's insecurities. And when she finally found the love of her life it gave some hope to me as well.

A great read. The description of characters felt very real and I guess many people will relate to how they felt as times. Loved the name Jonah and his love for saving pigeons.

Can't wait to read more books like this.

JP and Kelsey were characters in "A Not So Meet Cute". They are two "co-workers" who are very attracted to each other but don't get along. When they are forced to travel together for work - sparks fly. While I did really enjoy the book and it had me laughing ALOT I didn't love Kelsey. She frustrated the heck out of me and I couldn't relate to her at all. JP is so freaking sweet but she overlooks what's right in front of her. This is a fun easy summer read and I definitely still recommend it!
