Kat Snowden now lives in a different town in a different house. She's left her past behind. It's too heartwrenching to stay and return to the police station where she and her now dead partner worked.
Thinking she's moving to a quiet easy life by the British seaside where she can heal, she's suddenly thrown into a new case that challenges every concept she had about murderers.
Before Kat can get answers, the murderer strikes again.
She's about to lose her job as her new boss assumes she's incompetent. And she thinks she's losing her mind as things take a turn for the worse. As the bodies start piling up, she discovers a terrifying clue that points to the perpetrator. Can she convince her boss that she is correct before the killer commits another murder?
Note: Ends on a cliff hanger. Part of a series. Book 2, Softly, She Floats is out now.

Kat Snowden wasn't too sure about her new boss. She left her old precinct because of the fire that took her partner and left her severely scarred. When a prominent citizen dies from an apparent suicide theboss matches her with Detective Colin to investigate. The two of them figure out it's not suicide and the chief wants this solved yesterday! Kat has a partner that no one else likes much, a boss who can't stand women cops, a victim with an endless supply of suspects and now a stalker. Always something going on in this story. I really enjoyed the mystery, the banter and wonder what crawled up the chiefs butt. On to the next one!!!

Kat moved to the seaside after things went wrong. On her first day of the job she gets a murder case. This is a good police procedural story. I like the well defined characters. I just couldn't stop reading. I sure am going to read the next book.
I received an advance review copy for free and I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.
