A Source of Blisters: A Viktorya Regent Novel Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 20 ratings

It’s not every day the town of Armageddon, New Mexico, receives a visitor—especially not one like Viktorya.

As an ancient Regent of Justice, armed with her Widowmakers and riding a Warhorse, Viktorya is there on a mission: to rescue a boy whose last hope lies in a goddess’s promise. And to do it, she’ll rain hell down on those who have evaded justice for too long.

With unlikely friends watching her back and dangerous enemies gunning for her head, it will take all of her training to stay one step ahead of corrupt cops, trigger-happy assassins, and two rival gangs.

The road to delivering justice is a bloody one, but Viktorya will stop at nothing to save the innocent and destroy the wicked. She once needed saving herself, after all; it’s her turn to defend those who can’t stand up for themselves.

One thing’s for sure—Armageddon will certainly live up to its name.

Before Sabina becomes Viktorya, she is a slave to a Roman ruler who is cruel beyond words. Thrown into a mine with only a week to overcome her injuries, she cries out for Justice. This prayer changes her fortunes, and not always for the better, but at least she’ll live free and be able to fight for justice until eternity ends.
Part two is a contemporary story, the majority of the book, in which Viktorya works to dole out justice toward two gangs that have held a town captive. One deals drugs, and the other trades in humans. Armed and dangerous, they have no idea who they’re dealing with and what Viktorya can do.
The story is action-packed, and the bad guys are so bad that we don’t mind Viktorya enjoying some of the pain she unleashes on her foes. It is highly recommended for those who like action justice with a speculative twist and a badass motorcycle-riding lady.

If you are looking for a story about a strong female character that dispenses justice in an unjust world then this story is for you. Plenty of action, great dialogue, and a complex heroine makes ‘A Source of Blisters’ play like a movie in your head. Highly recommend!

    My thought while reading:
WOW! This book goes so hardcore throughout the entire book.
For a minute I thought it switched to another character completely but it didn’t. There are multiple POV’s that just help with what Victorica’s character does. This book was hard to read. There is a lot of stuff happening where Victoria goes in to get justice and “take care” of the people that have gotten away with the worst possible crimes. The author was not kidding when they said Victoria is going to rain hell down on those who have evaded justice for too long.

I actually enjoyed the book all together. It was great but it is a difficult read. Victoria's character was very interesting. She just went with the flow and was like yup I'm doing it. I thought the side characters that just happened to randomly show up were insane. Like the Chief out of nowhere LOL. I was like wait what?! Then Victoria was like hey guys. Like oh now it makes sense.

Overall I enjoyed the book and give it a 4/5 stars for me.

The world of Armageddon, as painted by LoneWalker, is both intriguing and intense. Following Viktorya's quest for justice, filled with challenges and introspection, was an emotional roller coaster. LoneWalker has truly carved a contender with this novel. Loved it!

In the heart of the aptly named town of Armageddon, New Mexico, Ra Lynn LoneWalker introduces readers to an enigma named Viktorya. "A Source of Blisters" is a masterful fusion of dark fantasy and action-thriller, presenting a narrative both thrilling and thought-provoking. Viktorya, the ancient Regent of Justice, stands as a paragon of retribution and protection, and her quest to safeguard an innocent boy serves as a poignant reminder of the lengths to which we might go to uphold a promise.

LoneWalker's writing paints vivid pictures—whether it’s the imagery of Viktorya riding her majestic Warhorse or the daunting Widowmakers she wields. The ensemble of supporting characters, from the fiercely loyal friends to the chilling adversaries, enrich the tapestry of this tale. The novel expertly navigates the delicate balance between action sequences and emotional depth, drawing readers into the heart of a battle between good and evil.

It's a rare book that holds the power to make one question the nature of justice and redemption, all while providing heart-pounding suspense, but "A Source of Blisters" achieves just that. The underlying theme—Viktorya's own past of needing salvation and her subsequent rise to be a savior—gives depth to her journey.
