The Billionaire Prince’s Single Mother (Sovalon Royals Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 261 ratings

After being ditched by his fiancée before they’d even reached the altar, Prince Aldon of Sovalon heads to his quiet, secluded Thistledown Castle to lick his wounds and try to find some peace. Instead, he finds his gorgeous groundskeeper, Piper McKenzie, and her five-year-old, not-so-quiet daughter, Willa. Though he thought he was longing for solitude, Aldon finds himself delightfully distracted by Piper again and again. Piper is not only beautiful, she’s loving, caring, and opening his eyes to things he’d never noticed before.

Single mother Piper loves her idyllic country life with Willa, taking care of Thistledown Castle and working on the gardens. Aldon’s arrival turns everything topsy-turvy. It’s been a long time since a man has turned her head, and Aldon has hers spinning like a top. Despite her instant attraction, Piper reminds herself that Aldon is a prince and doesn’t seem to be a fan of kids. Definitely not the man for her. Princes don’t marry groundskeepers, they marry the type of woman he used to be engaged to, the same woman Aldon’s father is insisting he reconcile with. Though Piper might be falling in love, she’s smart enough to realize a fairy tale ending is not for her. Secretly, though, she’s hoping this Prince Charming proves her wrong…

USA Today Bestseller Leslie North presents another oh-so-satisfying billionaire romance with an unforgettably hot-blooded bad boy royal and the unyielding woman who tames him...

New to Leslie? Dive into 'The Bossy One'—a sidesplitting grumpy bosshole rom-com that’s guaranteed to tickle your funny bone!

Leslie North is a USA Today Bestselling pen name for a mysterious author who spins romantic comedies and contemporary romances like a boss (a very bossy one, at that). The cloak of anonymity lets her unleash her wildest creativity, especially in those steamy, swoon-worthy scenes that’ll make you blush.

Leslie’s affair with romance began when she stumbled upon a dog-eared romance novel in her local library. She started writing shortly after and, as they say, the rest was a hysterical, heartwarming history. Now, she lives in a cozy cottage on the British coast, where she takes long, leisurely walks with her two Dalmatians, George and Fergie, who are as mischievous as they sound.

Fun fact: Leslie loves her alter-ego more than her real-life self! Her books are jam-packed with feisty laugh-out-loud characters, especially women who aren’t afraid to take on a grumpy bosszilla. And the humor? Let's just say you'll need to warn people around you about the sudden outbursts of laughter.

She’s head-over-heels for reader feedback, so if you’ve got something to say, don’t be shy—reach out and make her day!

This book was the perfect culmination of the Princes of Sovalon. Aldon has always felt overlooked by his father the King. With his engagement off he retreats to his castle in the countryside and meets the beautiful and compelling woman who takes care of his home. Piper is a single mom who loves to garden. She cares deeply for her family friends and community. Instant attraction between Aldon and Piper sets the stage for the perfect ending.

Piper, caretaker at Thistledown Castle, has worked for Aldon, the spare prince of Sovalon, for five years and not once has she seen him. As the story progresses they both receive surprises, a retreat is needed, and decisions made could break them. Leslie North’s The Billionaire Prince’s Single Mother is a nice sweet ending to her Sovalon Royals series and all three stories were worth reading.

Being born into a royal family—having the title of prince—does not make life a fairytale with a happy-ever-after ending. Aldon Ashton, the third son of the King Hansen of Sovalon has firsthand knowledge that a prince’s life is not guaranteed happy-ever-after. Leslie North’s 3rd installment of the princes of Sovalon—The Billionaire Prince’s Single Mother: Sovalon Royals Book 3—continues to focus on the challenges of life—even the life of a prince.

If life with his controlling dad were not enough to prove that princes weren’t always the recipients of happy-ever-after, his recent very public and very embarrassing break up with his fiancée, socialite Carrie Simmons, who has dumped her prince to begin an affair with a boy-toy, an actor 10 years her junior, would certainly evidence the lie of the happily-ever-after theory. It seems that Carrie prefers being a young man’s cougar than a prince’s kitten. And to add insult to injury, Carrie has commandeered the penthouse and staff that she had previously shared with her princely-ex for the next 3 weeks while she has her newly acquired apartment customized for her new life and love. But, this break up is not in the King’s vision for the life of his youngest son—dad needs the two ex’s to reunite and fulfill the role he has slotted them into—the kingdom’s ambassadors—and he will see the couple reunited, regardless of Carrie’s perfidy and his son’s humiliation.

So, Aldon, homeless for the next 3 weeks and not wanting to be in the same geographical zone with his ex, heads to Thistledown Castle, his country estate. While he has not visited the estate in years, he has fond memories of the area, but no current knowledge. So, he is surprised to be greeted by the castle’s groundskeeper/caretaker —Piper MacKenzie, a willowy, redheaded, emerald-eyed beauty covered with dirt from her day’s task of gardening. He soon learns that she is the only person on staff at the castle, and resides at the castle with her 5-year-old pigtailed daughter, Willa. And, because Carrie has claimed his staff for her relocation needs, Aldon has travelled alone. So, Willa quickly prepares his room and provides him with tea, assuring him that the Thistledown is the perfect place to rest and recover from life’s surprises and unpleasantness.

And Aldon discovers that his groundskeeper is correct. Thistledown does soothe his soul, but it also provides him with surprises—Willa and Piper being central—but also the community and village of Thistledown. As Willa introduces the prince to the area of her home, Aldon comes to see that he has skills and passion outside of his father’s vision for his youngest son.

North invites the reader to open their minds and their hearts to two unlikely lovers who must learn to trust themselves and each other. North explores the ways in which individuals are undervalued and undercut by friends, family and foes when all the individual seeks is a chance to prove himself as worthy.

I’ve been (im)patiently waiting for Aldon’s story since the first moment we were introduced to him. The even-tempered middle son just called out to me and made me want to know more. He’s a lot more complex than the bit and pieces we’ve seen would suggest. I loved Piper and thought she was a wonderful match for the dutiful prince. She shares his work ethic while her fanciful heart encourages him to dream a little for himself. Willa was fun, though a lot more adult than her young age would suggest. The one thing I felt like I was missing from this book, was an explanation for how things came to be in the state they are. Heck, I’d even love to see a follow-up short story to tell me where they all go from here, because I am not at all ready to say “goodbye” to these characters.

This is about Aldon, Piper and Willa. This is the last brother to get his story – Aldon he is not the first born nor the last but the second. He has always seek his father’s approval and did as was told for the good of the monarchy. But when his fiancée was caught cheating that was the last straw of allowing his father to rule him. He moved out of the city into the countryside to his castle that he hadn’t visited in a while. The groundskeeper, Piper, was surprised to see him come but he was most surprised with her and her daughter, Willa. He was taken by her beauty, but wasn’t good with kids, so thought it would be best to stay away, but Willa made sure to get on his good side and call him Prince Charming. Piper had been living in the castle as the groundskeeper since Willa was born as Willa’s father left after knowing she was pregnant, as did her father to her mother, so she was done with men as they were all a disappointment. Well it was a challenge between both Aldon and Piper as she knew that Aldon was expected to marry to society and he wouldn’t go against his father on it.

Willa was a hoot as any child would be in these types of stories, but the King and Queen made their own appearance. I have to say this was my favorite of the three and I guess it was Willa who took it to the top along with the King’s speech at the end. Awesome story – love the fairy tales!
