- Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2018Really interesting spectrum of stories. Main characters in each story well developed with enough detail in others to maintain the story. For mature readers. Looking forward to more from Mr. Stewart.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2018Good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2019This is 4 abridged stories from several of Glynn Stewart’s worlds. They are heavily trimmed, as I have read the full, entire starship mage series. But it’s enough to give you a sense of his writing style and introduce many key characters. If you’re curious about Glynn Stewart’s work, this is an excellent place to start.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2018Three of the stories were great.
I had read Starship's Mage in its entirety before and would have preferred seeing something new in its place.
I think both Riley from Onset and Talus from Changeling could be good full series protagonists.
A Riley prequel from Onset would be my preference though.
Looking forward to seeing how Exile is when it comes out
- Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2019Two of the novellas are "side stories" but the Star Mage story is straight out of the first novel. All three act as interesting introductory material for its respective series.
Stewart is one of the better story tellers in SF today, with a wide range of topics. Recommended!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2018Great to read, pulling characters from various other books, each novella is well written and presents a new piece of each series.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2018I don’t like short stories for the most part and 2.99 is to much for me for a short story. Still I liked it I just wish I had noticed the length as I would not have bought it
- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2018Despite my best efforts to catch all of Glynn Stewart's output I only just learned of the existence of Fae, Flames, and Fedoras.
And I eagerly read through it this morning.
I had actually already read the other stories. Starship's Mage is the story that initially got me hooked on Glynn Stewart's work. When I read it I started putting reminders in my calendar for the expected release dates of the follow on novellas. I strongly recommend his stories. I think I may actually be a better person for reading them, not just a better entertained and more interesting person.
Anyway, enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good short stories but 2 of them have been published before
Good stories but the largest 2 are reprinted from other books. So not worth the money. Which is a shame as the other 2 are good stories.
