I happen to read the two series back to back, but in past series where there is more time and many books between - something like this would really have helped keep all the pieces connected. Especially, when you don't really get to read much on the kids before the book ends

    This was a great bridging story between the 2 series and fantastic lead in to what is coming. I loved getting the update of the family and seeing the kids grown up and some of their interactions and personalities prior to the new story starting. We also get the lead in to the series with some action and problems and it’s going to start with a bang for sure. Can’t wait to start Royal’s book.
