About the authors
Mark Towse is an English award-winning horror writer living in Australia. He would sell his soul to the devil or anyone buying if it meant he could write full-time. Alas, he left it very late to begin this journey, penning his first story since primary school at the ripe old age of forty-five. Since then, he's been published in over two hundred journals and anthologies, had his work made into full theatrical audio productions, and has penned fifteen novellas, including Nana, Gone to the Dogs, 3:33, and Crows. Chasing The Dragon, his debut novel from Eerie River Publishing, was released in March 2024.
TARA CARIBOU is a crunchy neo-hippie who lives in the wilds of rural Alaska. Wrestling with OCD-related depression, persistent repetition of thoughts, and constant analysis, she allows her love of nature to drive her inspiration and peace. She has two full-length books of poetry and photographic art published, along with a handful of works in various anthologies. You will find her writing and creating from the heart barefoot on the beach or deep in the woods. Read more of her work on her website.
Sam "Goldie" Kirk lives in the Northern Hemisphere and is a paper-pusher by day and a storyteller by night. Sam is passionate about writing mystery, new adult and dark fiction, as well as anything that involves a bit of psychology. Having lived on various continents, Goldie likes to start discussions and explore diverse stories. Serene places like forests, riverbanks, and mountaintops are where Sam seeks inspiration.
River Dixon has unknowingly found himself trapped in the incessant heat and beauty of Arizona. It is here, along with his family, that he finds solace stringing together words in an attempt to find a structure or sequence that may one day make sense of all this. River can be found hanging out at thestoriesinbetween.com where he shares his poetry and short fiction.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2020Static Dreams, volume 2, is a collection of eerie tales by various authors. Nine stories edited by Tara Caribou, promise night terrors, haunted pasts, hidden futures, and the necessary blood to hold it all together as the book blurb describes.
I found some stories thought-provoking, others darkly terrifying. “Daniel & The Gryphon” by Christopher Allen Waldrop, told a tale of a 9-year-old latchkey kid spending time on the roof of his apartment building with a mythological winged creature. The story had me speculating if the lonely child really saw the legendary carnivore and what his intentions were as he walked the edge of the building.
Another story, “Reverberation” by Sam Kirk, begins as a tale of a young woman held captive, bound and gagged to a chair. Then additional terror is experienced by 16-year-old Charlie as family secrets are exposed about his demented grandpa and foul mouth grandma during a visit to their country farm.
Static Dreams delivers twisted tales from twisted minds. I give this anthology 4 stars for keeping me awake at night.
