Stay with Me: A Second Chance Surprise Pregnancy Small Town Romance (All I Want Series Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 218 ratings

I wanted a fling. He wanted forever.

I never thought I’d be back in my hometown, but here I am living with my parents. I keep telling myself it’s only temporary but the hardest part is facing everyone I left behind—including Wyatt Carter.

He might not have been the reason I left, but he‘s the reason I never came back.

Wyatt is no longer the easy-going predictable guy I fell for. An officer of the Department of Natural Resources, he's an intriguing mix of cocky and bossy, which is almost as sexy as the way he fills out his uniform. I couldn’t resist him then, and I don’t want to now. I want to explore our chemistry but he wants a commitment—the one thing I’ve never been able to give him.

He thinks two blue lines change everything... but he’s wrong.

I couldn’t put this book down. I fell in love with Wyatt and Lucy.

Wyatt and Lucy dated in high school. She broke things off with him when she went off to college to get away from her small town. Now after getting fired and has no place she is back home. Wyatt tried to forget Lucy but can’t now that she is back he will do everything to make her fall in love with him again.

It is very hard to find your true love in high school but Lucy and Wyatt need. Now they just need to remember it all.

They were in love in high school and she left him behind to attend college. Would she ever have a second chance at love with him? This is the story of Stay With Me.
Years later Lucy returns home having been fired from her big-city job; Wyatt still has love in his heart for her but she can’t seem to make up her mind whether she wants a family with him (and she does love him) or she wants to go back to the big-city to have an 80 hour workweek and find herself. That is the conflict in the book.

The writing is excellent; the characters are great even though Lucy annoyed me to the max; and, she did realize she loved being home. It is well-written ,but, I had to give it 4-stars because of the immaturity of supposedly educated Lucy when she still wants to live on her own and not with Wyatt while she raises their baby. Just couldn’t get past the wasted time of being a family in one home. Lucy has a big-time degree but no common sense!

Lucy returns home after she is let go from her job in the city and moves back to the small town she grew up in and moves in with her parents. she is very independent and not happy about it, but has no other choice. When Lucy went to college, she cut all ties with her love Wyatt. He gave her an ultimatum that if she left, they were through. So, she left, and they were through. Until She moves back home and they hook up and guess who turn up pregnant. I will say they both handled it well and I was rooting for them to make it work and they did for a while. I have to say that Wyatt was a dream of a book boyfriend, he was loyal, good man with a good job who knew what he wanted and did not want to settle. When Lucy told him she was pregnant, he was all in!! It is a shame that Lucy was not. She had doubts about getting a job and being able to support her baby while all the while Wyatt was willing to support them and assist any way he could especially if she opened her own business which should have been a no brainer for her. She was good at the wedding planning she assisted with. But she didn't want to take the leap as it wasn't her "dream job".... Really??? you've got a good man on your side... get it together Lucy!! All her friends and family were very supportive and encouraging about her pregnancy and her starting her own business. We all should be so lucky..... Lucy had to find out on her own that things change when you find your soulmate, and not everyone gets a 2nd or 3rd chance. I love Wyatt and I loved this book.
This is definitely a keep and one click worthy!

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy. Wyatt was left behind by the love of his life Lucy when she went away to college and cut all ties. Years have passed and Lucy is forced to return home after losing her job. Lucy and Wyatt end up hooking up and Lucy ends up pregnant but because she has so many issues she tries to keep Wyatt and arms length. I will say that Wyatt was amazing, he kept me reading this book. Lucy not so much, she is so childish, negative, and all about her that I did not like her. I don't care if you had rough things happen to you, you don't have the right to treat people the way you do - ever.
I was hoping Wyatt would get someone better in his life but he got stuck with Lucy. Wyatt made this book for me.

Lucy and Wyatt were high school sweethearts, and he saved her from some difficult times at home. When Lucy left for college, she wanted a clean break to escape her small town and tough times her family had. So she breaks up with Wyatt and does not come back. Wyatt has stayed in their small town, doing his dream job. He is good friends with Lucy’s brother Jack as well. When Lucy loses her job and returns home to regroup and help plan her brother’s wedding, it is clear the attraction between them has never died. A moment of passion leads to a pregnancy that they view in some different ways.

Overall, I liked this book. The characters are kind people, people you would know who work hard and try to build a good life for themselves. Lucy’s reactions to situations frustrated me a little - she comes across as a bit immature at times - but it is a realistic portrayal.

I have read most of the other books in this series and liked them all. You could read this as a stand-alone but it does have a nice connection to all the other books if you are looking for a new series. I live in Maryland and the books are set on the Eastern Shore so that is a nice connection as well.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book for an honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Relationships are not always easy
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 8, 2021
Childhood sweethearts until 18 when Lucy went away to college and Wyatt insisted it was a clean, final break. Lucy is a graphic designer, left home for bigger and better. Wyatt stayed in their small home town but has done well for himself and has a secure job and his own home. After 7 years she returns for her brother's wedding, but driven by no job, no home and no money, after being fired and unable to keep her appartment. A unplanned pregnancy, involved in planning the wedding and rekindling desires and wishes, until promotion is given to Wyatt and she is offered her job back with promotion and better prospects.
Lucy is selfish, self absorbed, tunnel visioned in her determination to provide for herself and she uses others for her reasons and excuses for it all. She offers nothing and uses Wyatt' feelings and goodness shamelessly. I don't really like her.
Wyatt was open with her and happy in respect of the baby and their future, planning for everything he would offer Lucy and the baby. He is too good for her and it was obvious that he was going to get hurt because of Lucy's preoccupation with her career.
The best was when they split after she told him about the job offer; he did not back down or beg her to stay...he called it and her right in every way. Realistic issues to face and come to terms with.7
