Suffer No Fools: M/M/M Pirate Fantasy Romance (Romancing the High Seas Book 3) Kindle Edition
Once a pawn in his own empire, Emperor Hugo must now learn to control his magic through its guiding emotions. However, he has never experienced fiery joy, and his sorrow fuels tears, not ice. His guards could be the key to unlocking his potential, but at what cost to their already tenuous relationship?
Pirates Stan and Tovey are newly assigned to protect the emperor. Together, they help Hugo control his magical urges, while Hugo helps them communicate their hearts' desires. If they succeed, Hugo's magic will be a much-needed advantage in their fight to reclaim the Empire. Their extraordinary but unintended connection may be what it takes to save the empire, or it could be their downfall.
Suffer No Fools is the third and final installment in the Romancing the High Seas series. It is a male/male/male polyamorous romance between consenting versatile adults with a lonely virgin emperor, two experienced older pirates, (25/40/45), magical DP, and docking more than the ship. If you loved Stan and Tovey's playful banter in Take No Prisoners and Tell No Tales, more sparks fly when they are assigned to Emperor Hugo's security detail.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2024This book did a great job of weaving together all three books while diving into the MCs' emotional baggage. This book was heavier on the storyline and sweetness of romance than on the spice level that most MMM stories often lean on. That is one person's perspective, I'm sure others would disagree on spice level.
I got my HEA for sure...but I want more stories from this universe!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2024I have to say that I love the gay pirate fantasy story we have going on here! Stan and Tovey have been teasing us and confusing me from the start of this series so it was good to finally get in their head and see what made them tick. Tovey has been pushing Stan away for years and it is a testament how much the other man cares that he is still around. Hugo desperately needs someone to love him for who he is, not what he is, and to unlock his magic. These guys do not have an easy time, but then again, they are locked in what seems like a never ending war. I still love seeing all the other characters from the previous books, (I have a soft spot for both Niall and Vadim.)
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2024Suffer No Fools by Edie Montreux is an excellent conclusion to their Romancing the High Seas trilogy. Sometimes at the end of a series, I am left feeling there were some unresolved issues in the story for me. Not so with Suffer No Fools. Not only do we get to see the other characters from the previous books in mostly committed relationships, Edie has managed to completely change my opinion of Tovey, who I’ve more or less disliked up to now. They made his transition from conceited and unlikable to someone worthy of both Stan and Hugo, who are exceptional people and in the case of Hugo, a humanitarian leader too. Being a fan of magic, I enjoyed how the various characters expanded their world’s concept of what is possible with magic. And of course Hugo is a great example of what can be accomplished with skill, need, and will. While I consider myself a pacifist, it felt right in how some evil characters met their ends. The only thing I would have added to the series is a map. Growing up on Tolkien I love to see maps of fantasy worlds. I received a free copy of the book from the author and am leaving a review voluntarily.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2024Edie has this magical way of making you fall in love with her characters, and since we met Stan and Tovey in book 1, I've been itching to see them make peace with each other, and here we are! Thanks to Hugo, of course. After keeping Stan at arm's length for years, we finally understand what happened between them. And Stan, being the sweet solid, loving man that he is, has been patiently waiting without wanting to push. Enter Hugo, who has had the worst time of them but is desperately looking for someone to love him for who he is, not his title or station in life, all while trying to harness his magic and save the empire. This story takes you on an adventure. The characters take you on a ride, and we get to catch up with old friends too!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2024For this final book, we follow our throuple along with their friends and the comrades they meet along the way as they look to stop Corwyn once, and for all.
The relationship between these three isn’t easy but I do feel like they iron out their differences they go along and they work well together.
There’s plenty of action along the way with the battles they must partake in the betrays they must endure. It all leads to a final battle, and happily ever after for the entire empire.
There is plenty of steam along the way, and I am glad that relationships are patched up/better understood along the way as well.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2024This is the third and final book in the Romancing the High Seas series, and is best read after the first two books as they are inter-related. Emperor Hugo has come a long way, but the struggle isn't over yet. I have loved the mix of adventure, intrigue and magic in this series, and gay pirates? Yes, please. They are not pansies either, but strong, well-developed, and intriguing characters. There is snark and banter, and also plenty of heat. I love M/M/M stories, especially when the MCs are all full and equal partners, as is the case here. This was a great conclusion to the series, and I loved seeing the characters from the first two books, as well.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2024I will admit going I was wondering how Tovey was going to redeem himself with me! Stan is the sweetest and most loyal man, but it still took Hugo entering their lives to finally break through to Tovey. Hugo pretty much had nothing, but all he truly desired was to find love despite that. I was thrilled he found double the love! I was most engrossed in the relationship and characters but yes, we do get to see our pirate adventure as a whole wind up. We get to see all the previous guys woven in as well.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2024Suffer No Fools is the third book in the Romancing the High Seas series. It could be read as a standalone but I think it makes more sense after reading the first two books. This is an MMM story just so you know. This is the story of Emperor Hugo and his bodyguards the pirates Stan and Tovey. I truly enjoy the gay pirate stories and this one is no exception. This is the final book in the series and what a great way to end it. I loved seeing these three work out the problems they have. I think it has a great plot and amazing characters. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
