Sweet Elf (Omega Christmas Elves Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 130 ratings

A virgin omega waiting for his first heat might get everything he wants from Santa this Christmas…

Tucker

I’ve really loved working as an elf at the Barrington Christmas Market this year, but what I’ve loved the most is getting to know Micah Lawson, who is the market’s Santa. Best of all, I think Micah likes me too. But will he still want me when he finds out I have a rare condition that means I haven’t had my first heat yet?

All I want is to be a papa, but no heat means no children…

Micah

I never would have imagined that playing Santa would be so satisfying or inspire me to build a career. I never would have thought my disappointed dad would ever be interested in what I do with my life either. But most of all, I never, ever would have guessed that I’d find exactly the omega I want to spend the rest of my life with in the form of adorable, sweet, clever Tucker Mandal.

Now, if only I can summon up the courage to ask him out and to make him mine…

Sweet Elf is the fifth in a series of novellas about the Barrington Christmas Market. It is a spin-off of the Bangers & Mash series and involves a group of omega friends and their misadventures, slipping on ice, an old threat come back to cause new trouble, the most awkward first date ever, last-minute saves, a Christmas Eve pool party, and, of course, true love.

Loved this storyline. Even the antagonist elicited strong (negative) feelings. Nicely done. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series by MM Farmer.

This was a sweet and entertaining conclusion to this series. While there were issues threatening to come between Tucker and Micah, they quickly sorted things out and even beat the awful mayor as well.

I received an ARC and this is my unbiased opinion

I loved the sweet innocence of Tucker. He really was the very sweetest of the Elves.
Micah impressed me with his dedicated patience and care.
And then there was the Mayor, the character I loved to hate! He was absolutely contemptible and if he had been standing in front of me, I probably would have planted him a facer! (I'm kidding, I'm not really that kind of person, but you get what I'm saying).
Each of the five stories in this series has been wonderfully entertaining but the best was this last one – most definitely “the cherry on top”.
I read an ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of this book supplied by Booksprout and I'm happy to share my voluntary review of it.

'Sweet Elf' is the fifth and final book in the ‘Omega Christmas’ series. This stars Tucker Mandel, an omega, and Micah Lawson, an Alpha who plays Santa at the Christmas Market. This is told in first person from Tucker and Micah’s povs.

The blurb does a decent job of explaining the plot. Like the other stories, it’s about the main characters yearning for each other but having personal or outside events interfere with their relationship. Usually that means the corrupt mayor attempting to disrupt the Barrington Christmas Market.

In this book, Tucker has a rare condition where he hasn’t had a heat yet and he’s already in his early twenties. This means he may not be able to have children and that’s what he truly wants. Once Tucker completely falls for Micah, then he goes into heat. This struck me like Tucker being a demi-sexual, it took Tucker forming a strong attachment to Micah before he had his heat. I liked both Micah and Tucker, they seemed suited to each other.

There is a big discrepancy between the first book and what happens in this book. Tucker has never told any of his friends, the other elves working at the Market, that he’s never had a heat because he’s too embarrassed by his condition. The friends are all shocked when he tells them. In Book One this is what Felix says about Tucker:

‘and even though I knew he’d had a couple heats before, I’d never heard of him connected with any alpha.’

I think Tucker mentions he never told them he had heats in this book. He just avoided talking about them. When I spot inconsistencies like this, I get annoyed.

Another thing that bothered me, is this story ends on what feels like a cliff-hanger. Tucker and Micah have sex and the conclusion ends on how their future looks wonderful. I felt cheated by the ending because there was no mention of what happened to the mayor and what kind of comeuppance he received. Was he arrested for his unscrupulous ways? Or did he skip town? I wanted to see how Hunter won the election, how Felix dealt with being the mayor’s mate, and if he took on duties to help the town. The mayor figured in every book and his plans to remain in office were part of what kept each story moving. Too not conclude a main component of each books’ plot was negligent. It’s like the story fell off a cliff with so many unanswered questions. The book felt incomplete and instead of feeling happy, I felt disappointed.

I liked the relationship between Tucker and Micah. I liked how the author handled Tucker’s heat issue. I didn’t like the big inconsistency from Book One to this book. And I didn’t like the absence of a satisfactory conclusion to the subplot of the mayor and Hunter that ran through all the books but remained unfinished in this one so that this ended in a cliff-hanger. Therefore, I give 'Sweet Elf,' 3 Stars. I hope someday if the author decides to re-edit this book, that they will add a satisfactory epilogue to this story.

I absolutely loved this whole series and definitely hate to see it end, but the elves have all now found mates and are happy. I think this was favorite one of all I really felt for the omega character and what they were going through. It was great seeing them finally get the alpha and find love. Loved the party for orphans at the end as well super sweet!

The stories were good. The characters sweet and relatable despite this being an imaginary world. Some names of the books were off. Like Book 4. No happy names should describe Elijah's disposition with all his trauma. I did find it hilarious that this book didn't use the pill despite this situation actually calling for it.

This was the perfect ending to the Oega Christmas Elves series.
Micah and Tucker are both struggling with some challenges, which they get through together and finds love as well.
I loved that we got to meet all five couples during the series and follow how they all became close friends.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wonderful story of Tucker Mandal, an elf at the Barrington Christmas Market and Micah Lawson who plays Santa at the Market. Tucker is a virgin, in fact has not had his first heat yet due to a medical condition, but still feels the attraction to Micah. Micah has some confidence issues, but playing Santa is helping with those. Loved these two and how they conquer these problems and have their HEA.
