A beautiful romance with many beautiful moments

A beautiful romance with many beautiful moments
If you are a fan of chocolate and love romance novels, then “The Little Swiss Ski Chalet” is your book! There are so many moments that I adored! The author has a beautiful and smooth style of writing. Firstly, I loved the food theme of the story. While I am not a connoisseur of food, I enjoyed the culinary details the author included. Moreover, she seamlessly provides recipes in the character’s conversations, which makes it entertaining.Secondly, I loved the beautiful descriptions of Switzerland. I felt like I was with Mina and the group as they toured the beautiful landscape. The author describes the lush beauty, as well as various sightseeing spots. I would love to visit “The Gruyere Factory” and even the “Giger Bar” after reading the book.Thirdly, I enjoyed the characters. Mina is adorable in the lead as she tries to start a new life and find a new path. She shares beautiful chemistry with Luke, and I loved their moments of ‘serendipity.’ On a side note, I also loved Luke’s passion for miniature models. Furthermore, I am a sucker for love stories where people believe in fate and luck, and their romance puts a smile on my face. Moreover, Mina shares a beautiful relationship with Amelie. Similarly, even Johannes was an interesting character. He is direct and intimidating but fond of Amelie and has a good heart. However, my only minor complaint in the story is that it was too sweet at times. The characters are adorable and charming for the most part, and it would have been nice to have a prominent person like Belinda spice things up.Apart from that, “The Little Swiss Ski Chalet” is a beautiful romance with many beautiful moments, making it memorable.

How fun is this book? It is total escape and terribly unlikely, but I enjoyed every conceived moment of it. Julie is a master at mining our life fantasies.

Caplin’s books never fail to disappoint. This involves the usual tale of a woman whose life has taken a few bad turns, so decided to travel to Switzerland to visit an old friend and winds up with lots of new friends and a new romance. The characters are like able, the style is breezy, and the author inserts a lot of facts about the country, while describing delicious food and typical adventures. It may not be deep introspective writing or plots but it provides hours of enjoyment. What else do you need?

Mina is a ‘food scientist’ who finds Serendipity at her godmother’s chalet in Switzerland - in love and career. There are so many delicious sounding foods mentioned in this book that I wish it came with the recipes! This story is upbeat, clean, and positive with lovely descriptions of the area, skiing, and food, food, food!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Completely captivated and transported
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 2, 2024
I have now read ALL of these delightful books. I didn't realise there was a series and so didn't read them in order. The enjoyment didn't suffer as a result. I have been captivated by the combination of great authentic writing, believable characters and life issues. Superlative descriptions of locations, culture, vistas, romance and delicious food transported me completely. I'm planning to make the Benediktiner Eintopf!
Real adventures and completely absorbing stories. I was surprised and enchanted by the interweaving of characters and story lines which really adds to the excitement as the stories unfold.
There are moments to laugh out loud and of greater introspection and soul searching poignancy. Escapism at it's very best and brilliant unexpected twists. I have pre - ordered 'Prague' but don't know how I'll survive until then as I have read one after the other - I just couldn't wait for the next adventure and to discover who showed up!
Maybe I'll have to go back to Copenhagen....or find Jules!
Thank you Julie for a wondrous set of adventures in beautiful locations all inviting me to travel, kick back, savour the moment and be grateful for life's blessings and inspirational authors! Right. I'm off to bake a chocolate cake.
