    My name is ME Carter and I have no idea how I ended writing books. I'm more of a story teller (the more exaggerated the better) and I happen to know people who helped me get those stories on paper.

    I love reading (read almost 300 books last year), hate working out (but I do it anyway because my trainer makes me), love food (but hate what it does to my butt) and love traveling to non-touristy places most people never see.

    I live in Texas with my four kids, Mary, Elizabeth, Carter and Bug, who was just a twinkle in my eye when I came up with my pen name. Yeah, I'll probably have to pay for his therapy someday for being left out.

4.5 Stars Switch Stance was a beautiful collaboration between ME Carter and Andrea Johnston. While I am familiar with Johnston’s books, this is my first foray into ME Carter's work. I love the Country Road series that Andrea Johnston has released so I was really looking forward to heading back into that world with Spencer. I love collaborations done right and that’s exactly what readers are getting when they pick up Switch Stance. The writing is clean, fluid and the story is seamless. Aggi and Spencer are realistic and very easy to connect with. Aggi, with her quirky personality was the perfect counterpoint to sincere and sexy Spencer. Although the book could have been a little faster paced for my liking, the story is fun, and I wanted to finish it. If you are looking for a sweet, clean sports romance with a LOL flair, I couldn’t recommend Switch Stance more.

    Trying to write a review for this book is like asking someone to explain ambrosia. We know it’s the nectar of the gods and has mystical powers, but unless you’ve actually taken a bite, any comparison is pointless. And just like it, this story will leave you with a feeling of repletion.
    Switch Stance gives us Aggi, a corky, clumsy, slightly awkward romance author who is one- hundred and fifty percent relatable. But with a switch of wardrobe, hairstyle, contact lenses, and some red lips Aggi becomes Best Selling Extreme Sports Romance Writer- Adeline Snow, who has used Skateboard Champion Spencer Garrison as her muse for multiple best sellers. I so want to tell you I have an alter ego too and related to Adeline but I don’t. It was Aggi’s awkward and less than graceful moments that resonated with me. She very much fit in with our heroines of the #MyNewLife Series.
    And Spencer! Oh sweet baby angels in heaven! Spencer was everything I had been waiting for since Bourbon & Bonfires! Sexy, athletic, sensitive, family oriented. He rolled with the punches, or in this case, the elbows and took everything in stride. He was so patient and good humored, but most importantly, he didn’t let Aggi use her alter ego as a shield. He very much fits the mold of our stellar Heroes of The Country Road Series.
    Switch Stance is the perfect combination of romance and laugh out loud humor! M.E. Carter and Andrea Johnston are incredible separately. Together they are unstoppable!

    I think I knew from the very first chapter that I was going to love this book. It started off very strong, introducing our main characters and their amazing qualities in a way that made me want to climb into the story and find out what was going to happen next. Our quirky heroine was so sweet and endearing that I rooted for her from the very beginning. And our sexy skateboarding muse was just the cherry on top of the story.

    So you're probably wondering why I only gave it 4 stars. Well, besides the fact that I'm extremely picky about giving out 5 stars to a book, for some reason I kind of lost my intense desire to find out what was going to happen next somewhere in the middle of this book. Be it the fact that our hero was maybe a little too perfect, or maybe a little too sweet for my taste? Or possibly just because the story slowed down a bit, I found myself feeling pretty sure I knew how this story was going to end. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I just wanted a little more excitement from the story I think.

    But this book was honestly really fun. I loved Aggi (Agnes, Adi, Adeline.) She had as many personality quirks as she had names. She was so endearing and hilarious. I loved reading about her character and I loved hearing about her life. Spencer was the perfect hero for her character, balancing her craziness with patience and sincerity.

    So I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves sports romance. And I really hope that Andrea Johnston and ME Carter continue to write together in the future!

    I just finished reading Switch Stance. I absolutely loved this book! I got a copy from NetGalley and then realized I already had purchased this book some time ago. I am sorry i didn't read it right away as it is really wonderful. I loved that I could totally believe this romance and the way it unfolded, it was just perfect. I have only a few stories that I would consider hold a "book boyfriend". What I consider a good one is one that doesn't waiver in his feelings for the heroine. Spencer doesn't. He is so supportive of who she actually is and is a truly good guy. I don't want to do any more spoiling than I have, so I will just say this book was a strong 5 stars for me. Can't wait to read the rest in the series!

    This started out with a lot of promise, although the writing style isn't my favourite, I found the characters to be engaging and likable. I enjoyed the premise and story but about halfway through things started to do downhill and stagnate, which made me really sad because I was expecting to love this book.

    I really enjoyed the meet-cute and book signing, and their dates, but felt them becoming a couple was a little awkwardly done. While I loved how quirky Aggi was, it ended up being a little over-the-top, she needed something to balance that hot mess energy out, especially when contrasted with Spencer's flawless character, who was almost annoyingly perfect. I enjoyed the side characters and appreciated how the authors brought them to life, but wish they had spent a little more time rounding out the leads.

    Plot points, like the kids that broke into Spencer's house, and Aggi's editor having recently relocated to Texas (and being pregnant) that looked like they might thread together went nowhere. I wanted to know a whole lot more about Spencer's charity and was really disappointed that there was virtually no sports in this book about a sports romance writer. The big reveal of Spencer being her muse has so much build-up and almost no fall-out that it kind of left the reader floundering to know where the story was going.

    All in all, it was a good story with a lot of untapped potential that would have made it a great story.

    Final Thought: Having a bumbling, clumsy character does not a comedy make and towards the end the overuse of the phrase "my girl" by Spencer made me want to throw my Kindle every time it appeared on my screen.

    OMG I've fallen in love with Andrea's Work after I read The Break Series, she's an one click author for me, I have some of M.E. Carter's work on the kindle but never had a chance to read some yet, but after this novel her books are up next :).
    Switch Stance a Romcom by these two lovely authors, was amazing, page turning, funny, great characters. You wanted to know more about Adeline and Spencer from the very first two chapters, i couldn't wait to finish this loved it from beginning to end the characters were real with real flaws. Highly recommend this book to anyone you wouldn't be disappointed.
