The Cursed Wolf King: A Fated Mates Wolf Shifter Forbidden Romance (Shadow Moon Shifters Book 1) Kindle Edition
The woman I’m destined to love is the one I’ve sworn to destroy.
As the last leader of the Orion Pack, I’ve spent years hunting down the ones responsible for my pack’s downfall. The curse that destroyed us all has one source—the rival Heraclid pack that thrives while mine lies in ruins.
Now, my mission is clear: find the oracle wolf with the power to break me and end her.
But when I finally track her down, our bond is undeniable.
She’s the oracle—betrothed to my enemy’s son, her powers bound and her wolf silenced. She claims her pack controls her, that they’ve lied to me. But all I see is the key to my suffering.
I should end her, but every instinct in me screams one word.
Mine.
I’ve been deceived before, and I can’t afford another betrayal. Yet, with every touch, every look, I want nothing more than to protect her.
If anyone tries to harm her, they’ll face the full fury of the hunter wolf I am—because if she’s truly mine, no one will take her from me.
Not even the curse that might consume us both.

Paranormal Romance Author, Harley Hunt
Harley Hunt has always had a soft spot for dark forests, full moons, and heroes with a hint of danger. When not dreaming up steamy paranormal worlds, Harley can be found sipping wine during sunset, savoring French cheese, and spoiling a very sweet Golden Retriever (definitely not a werewolf).
Harley’s first book, The Cursed Wolf King, kicks off a gripping wolf-shifter romance series—a tale of forbidden love, fierce loyalty, and the kind of passion that bites back.
Editorial Review:
"As I turned the last page of *The Cursed Wolf King* by Harley Hunt, I found myself utterly captivated by this tale of love, betrayal, and the complex world of wolf shifters. The narrative unfolds through the eyes of the tormented protagonist, the last leader of the Orion Pack, who grapples with loyalty and desire in an unforgiving world.
From the very beginning, I was drawn into the depths of his turmoil. He is on a relentless quest to hunt down those who have caused his pack's destruction, and his vendetta against the rival Heraclid pack is palpable. It's heartbreaking to see a character so consumed by vengeance and pain, yet there’s a magnetic pull to his journey that I couldn't resist.
The Oracle, the woman fated to be his mate, is a fascinating character as well. Betrothed to his enemy’s son, her powers are suppressed, leaving her in a tragic situation. The moment he finds her, I felt the tension between them crackle with undeniable chemistry. It’s a classic tale of forbidden love, yet the author has crafted their dynamic in a way that feels fresh and engaging. Every time they interact, I could feel the internal struggle within the protagonist, battling his instincts to protect versus his desire to destroy.
What I appreciated most was the emotional depth that the author infused into the story. The protagonist's conflict — wanting to end the Oracle but finding himself drawn to her — is portrayed beautifully. His vulnerability and fierce determination to not trust again tugged at my heartstrings, making me root for him even as he faced the consequences of his choices.
The supernatural elements and the lore surrounding the shifter world were richly detailed, which allowed me to become fully immersed in this universe. The stakes felt real, and I found myself invested in both the character’s personal journey and the broader conflict between the packs.
In conclusion, *The Cursed Wolf King* is more than just a romantic fantasy; it’s a gripping tale of fate, redemption, and the struggle between love and duty. The author spins a compelling yarn that left me eagerly anticipating the next installment.
If you're a fan of forbidden romances with a blend of action and emotional depth, this book is definitely worth a read!"

- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2025I can’t believe I have to wait til 2026 to find out what happens to the Orion Pack. Love Eve and Logan. Can’t wait to find out what happens with Rhys and Sable and the twin brothers. Hurry Up Harley!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2025I’m definitely a fan of shifters and fated mates! This was my first time reading this author and I’ll definitely stick around to read book two and the others that follow.
Each book is about a different couples so not a cliffhanger for the couple, but then story line yes. The couple HEA.
The beginning grabbed my attention right away! I loved the MCs. However, it dragged a bit and became repetitive. I did feel like big chunks were still left unanswered. I’m hoping they will be answered in the next couple books. But seeing as they related to Eve I’m not sure they will be.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2025This book was fantastic! Harley is an awesome world builder and she set the scene flawlessly. We meet Eve and she is not like all the other wolves; she sees visions and is being used by Grayson, the Alpha of the Heraclid pack in order to take down his biggest enemy the Orion pack who has seemed to have a curse on them for decades. Logan is the Alpha of the Orion pack and he is the complete opposite of Grayson. He values tradition and what it means to be a wolf. When he's told that the oracle from his enemy pack is the reason for his curse on his pack, he needs to choose to either end her or claim her as his.
The writing style of this book was very easy to follow and I could not put this book down. I found myself reaching for my kindle so I could find out what happened next. The book flowed so easily that I didn't realize I was almost done with it! The spice wasn't crazy intense, but I still got butterflies and those scenes were extremely sweet and full of emotion. There is mention of abuse inflicted and graphic death scenes so please just be aware. This book ends in a HEA, but there are questions that I NEED answered now!! I'm really excited to read book 2!.

PoV: Dual- Eve and Logan, Rhys but only the last chapter of the book
Synopsis:
Logan is the last Alpha of the Orion pack trying to bring his pack back to its once former glory. Logan is plagued with the need to hunt down anyone responsible for his pack’s downfall. Eve is from the rival pack, the Heraclid, she’s known for her rare gift/curse as an oracle wolf who can’t shift. Eve is on Logan’s list until fate intervenes and both are stuck rethinking what they thought their futures would look like. Can they figure things out before the curse decimates them all?
Thoughts:
The beginning of this book really sets it up for a series of books within the Shadow Moon world. I appreciate the dual PoV, you get the chance to see both sides of the story without a ton over unnecessary overlap. There’s a nice slow burn, kinda enemies to lovers thing going on between Logan and Eve. You also get to learn a little more about the side characters, which will lead to other books to continue their stories. Overall, the book had a good balance between character development, action and romance. I recommend this book and can’t wait to read the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2025I will admit I struggled through this- I didn't really become invested until over halfway in. I liked both of the characters, they both are fell rounded and fairly interesting and both have plot points that I wanted to know about pretty early in that kept me reading, but the overall feel of the story felt very disjointed and I kept having to force myself to get through sections because the hopping around kept pulling me out of the story.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2025The Cursed Wolf King by Harley Hunt kicks off the Shadow Moon Shifters series with an intriguing mix of romance, action, and supernatural tension. The story follows Logan, the last leader of the Orion Pack, who is determined to destroy the Heraclid Pack—the rival pack responsible for the curse that destroyed his own. But his world is upended when he realizes the woman he’s destined to love is none other than the one he’s sworn to destroy.
The love story between Eve and Logan is both captivating and believable. The dual POV is a great touch, offering insight into both characters' emotions and motivations. Their relationship unfolds at a steady pace, allowing for growth and emotional depth without feeling rushed. The chemistry between them is undeniable, and you can’t help but root for their connection, despite the curse hanging over them.
The conflict between the packs, Logan’s quest for revenge, and his growing feelings for Eve create a nice balance of action and emotion. The pacing is solid, with just enough intrigue to leave you wanting more by the end.
Overall, The Cursed Wolf King is a fun and engaging start to the series, with well-developed characters, a sweet romance, and an intriguing supernatural world. If you’re looking for a paranormal romance that blends action with emotional depth, this one is definitely worth checking out. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series!
