The Dragon's Forbidden Sacrifice: a Dragon Shifter Romance (The Last Dragons Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 103 ratings

As a fae, she’s meant for one of her own kind. But when she falls for a dragon, she will sacrifice it all to be with her forbidden love…

Years ago, fairy princess Marigold fell in love with a dragon shifter—a forbidden affair which resulted in her being disowned and exiled. Doomed from the start, the budding relationship was shattered when a dragon consumes her true love. The beast adds insult to injury by stalking Mari day and night, taunting her by watching her with the eyes of her soulmate who she can no longer reach.

Dragons need female sacrifices to tame their beasts. But those females are supposed to be human and not fae. Trapped in his animal form after falling for a fairy, dragon shifter Rhyol struggles daily with his beast to set him free to return to the fairy he loves.

When trouble at home brings an unexpected invite for Mari to return to her people and her land, she’s finally ready to give up on any chance of Rhyol breaking free of his dragon. But when he learns of her decision, Rhyol will move between heaven and earth, crossing the veil between worlds to take back his life and the fairy he loves.

If you love alpha male shifters, fated mates, and steamy romance with a touch of 80’s nostalgia, then you don’t want to miss The Last Dragons series!

I loved these books so much. We women need more dragon men in our lives! These dragons may be fantasy but wow they are what men should be like in our world. Thank you for these stories, I really enjoyed tremendously!

Controlling the inner beast need love and trust. To tame it. And to expect the other side of him and Dragon.

LI didn’t get a chance to read the first couple of books in this series, but thankfully, you don’t need to read them in order for this book. Each book is about one of the dragon brothers. This book is on Rhyol, who is best friends with Princess Marigold. Since they were children, they have been friends after a chance meeting in the grove. They are two different species so they can’t ever be together, and Rhyol is supposed to get a sacrifice from the veil to tame his dragon. But he is in love with Mari, and when she tries to run away with him to his castle and her parents come with an army to bring her back, his dragon comes out to play to protect her. And the dragon won’t let go of Rhyol so he can be a man again. Years later, still a dragon, Rhyol still monitors Mari who is now working at a bar to stay away from her parents. She is told that her father is dying and to come back so she does. Rhyol, at his wits end, decides to cross the veil and it weakens his dragon enough for him to take back control. So, he now can go get the woman he loves. But can he find the right mix of man and dragon without letting one or the other take over permanently?

    This was a wonderful read!

I received an ARC for my honest review!

I thought that the first book in the series was great. It made me excited to read the other 5 books. However, as you go deeper into the series, you start to get inconsistencies and continuity issues. For example, the original FMC in book 1 ended up pregnant. By the time you got to book 4, it was a totally different character who was pregnant. I was waiting to see if I missed the character from book 1 giving birth or something but no, the pregnancy was changed to a totally different character. But even with those issues, it was a good series of books.

Like the other books, this one was good, but I only gave it 4 stars because the author seems to have forgotten how to spell the main character's name. In every other book in this series his name is spelled Rhoyl, but in this one she spells it Rhyol. I found this to be very annoying as I wasn't sure how I should be pronouncing it.

The Dragon’s Forbidden Sacrifice is another enticing story in a world of mythological beings living beyond the veil as crafted by an author whose work I have enjoyed.
This sixth book features Dragon shifter Rhyol and “don’t call her princess” Fairy Marigold who are the leads in an enchanting story of love and misfortune that is highlighted by frequent dabs of humor, issues of trust and supported by engaging writing within an excellently crafted world.
There will be heart tugging interludes as these two very likable characters battle against the odds to achieve their happily ever after which had this reader totally immersed in their adventure, and eagerly looking forward to their success!

I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was the 1st book I've read in this series but won't be the last. I really liked Marigolds character she was so feisty and true to herself. Rhyol is a sweet dragon shifter. They meet and start a friendship but dragons normally can only mate with human females. That doesn't stop their friendship. I don't want to give too much away but please give this book a try

The Last Dragons book 6. Rhyol and Marigold. His Dragon held him in beast form for the longest time. Mari didn't love the Dragon just his human part. So herein lies the problem. She gotta accept all of him in order for him to survive and mate her. They love each other but it's an uphill battle. This book was angsty, heart breaking at times, dramatic and passionate.

Mari, a fairy princess meets Rhyol, the dragon shifter and fell in love, forbidden and discarded by her family as each different shifter must mate with its own kind. Love transcends Shifter protocol in this book
