    I’m so happy, my heart’s so full of love it could burst; The Jerk Duet’s complete and it ends in a huge and wonderful HEA! The Day the Jerk Started Falling is the second book of this amazing duet and it picks up where book number one ended. This book is so well written and fast paced; I reached the end and kept tapping my Kindle, convinced there was more to it, upset I’d finished it so soon. I kept going back and forth, giving myself whiplash, one moment I was #TeamLucky and the next #TeamOllie. What I am is #TeamLuckyAndOllie.

    The story continues with the innovative Podcasts, but this time we get Ollie’s version of the story, and what a story it is! There were moments I was so upset “listening” to him (it really felt like I was) as he was telling us what he did to win over Lucky, almost from the moment he saw her, which was ultimately his endgame. He was cocky, a full of himself jerk, while doing some pretty underhanded and calculated moves to get her attention. Not everything was what it appeared and he did everything for love, something he never expected to feel so strongly. And I love him for it!

    “You’re all the things I never knew I wanted in a woman and then some, and most important of all, you’re the woman I love.”

    Ollie has decided he needs to tell his version of what happened to Lucky, if she’d only talk to him, to convince her to forgive him for his cruel words and explain why he lied. Because there’s a good reason for everything he did, and he’s sure she’d understand, if only he got a chance to tell her. So, he decides to do the Podcasts, ten hours’ worth of them, hoping she’ll listen to him that way. Ollie’s so desperate; he’s convinced she has to.

    “Today, I choose you. Tomorrow, I choose you. And for every day after that, I choose you.”

    I really can’t go into too much of the story, no spoilers from me, but this is such a funny and beautiful story! Ollie redeems himself, and I forgave him after he spilled his guts out. I have to say I honestly was so upset by his deception, in the first book, that I really felt Lucky’s pain and anguish and I “maybe” hated him a little!

    “You might go by Luck, but I think we both know, when it comes to love, you make me the lucky one."

    And Lucky is indeed one lucky woman!

    Since the first book was completely Lucky’s story, this one is Ollie’s. There are some strange truths that come from his side of the story. He starts from the very first day he laid his eyes on her.

    He does make some jerk moves and has some questionable decisions, but ultimately he does the right thing.

    The first part of The Day the Jerk Started Falling is told in podcast form from Ollie's point of view. Getting his take on everything that went down with Lucky is interesting. I often wish I could have my husband's pov of things that happen between us. It sure looks a lot different when told by two different people. Ollie and Lucky both made some serious mistakes in their relationship, but to hear this strong, sexy, confident man own up to his mistakes for the world to hear is so endearing.

    At about the halfway point in the book, the book was told in real time and we got to hear what transpired after Lucky finally hears Ollie's side of falling. Hilarity that can only be told in true Max Monroe style ensued. The road to happily ever after took some doing, but some bumpy rides are worth it!

    The Jerk Duet is one that made me truly smile! I honestly couldn't put these books down. They are lighthearted, sweet, sexy, easy reads!

    So book 2 is from Ollie’s perspective in podcast form and shows us what was going on that Lucky didn’t know about for various events in the first 3 months of their business and personal relationship. I was not really fond of this format. I never read a book twice and although there were important twists using his perspective, it was hard for me to keep going with the book when so much of the first half was real familiar.

    Where do I start? This book duet has been an utter delight. A unique form of a story in two parts, told through podcasts. I loved it. Lucky and Ollie are brilliant together. They both fall hard, real hard. But they both have their inhibitions and need to get over them.

    There are of course references to P&P, it's the classic all encompassing love story. It still resonates in modern times.

    It takes guts to share about your relationship failures with the world, and graciousness to accept your faults. To look back at the past to search what you learnt from it and to keep the past in the past so that you can move forward. Lucky is brave to do all that and more. She is brave to risk it all, not afraid to love, and that's where her beauty lies.

    Ollie on the other hand is laid back. Casual, funny, wanting to always be carefree. Yet, he has a warm heart, having his own insecurities, afraid to take the plunge. But when he finally learns what his heart wants, he gives it his all. He doesn't back off the challenge to win over Lucky by pouring his heart out, accepting all his faults, mistakes, and taking the risk that despite his efforts, Lucky wouldn't accept him.

    It's really beautiful...and as Ollie mentiones, it's the journey towards each other that makes the duet books awesome. They are simply unputdownable books. I loved them.
