    I'm so glad to have read this third book. The title alone has so much meaning for mr. It was a long way home for my heart to be whole after loosing my best friend, Dilly Dog. He filled my heart the same way Nelson filled Old Biddy's. To know the true love of a dog is to know love at its purest. I wish you all to know that kind of love in your lives. Blessed Be.

    When I first read, Martina Mars, book, “I Am Nelson”, I was hooked by her storytelling with her open-heart and endearing way of sharing their topsy-turvy life with Nelson and his rule number one… ‘don’t touch my bottom’! Her latest book, “The Long Way Home”, provides her readers with the story that many of us have hoped for after losing a pet… that their spirit has transferred to a new body and the connection is still somehow there with us. Martina‘s book is definitely a feel-good book written from her heart and will have you chuckling throughout the story… enjoy!

    I have read all three of Nelson's books. So glad that the author decided to continue the saga of her little doggie. This third one really makes you think about our own "end of life" . I was sad when I finished the last pages of the book, hoping that it would go on and on. Hopefully there will be a 4th! Thank you Nelson for telling your story in such a loving, funny and upbeat fashion. I miss you....

    I loved this novel.
    Read the previous 2 novels and was transported into my Rhodesian Ridgback psyche.
    The drama and emotional highs and lows of a dog's life are masterfully illustrated.
    I even loved "old bitty" who took care of New Nelson.
    Nelson showed us all the sides of human nature from bad to good and how dogs deal with them.
    Emotional roller coaster that keeps you hooked and explains some mysteries of dog behavior.

    Having loved the first two books about Nelson and his family, I really didn’t think that there could be more to his story…how wrong was I!! This new book is just as moving, funny and unique as the previous two. It was such a pleasure to spend some time with Nelson again. It’s a proper page turner, I found myself reading it in one go because I desperately wanted to know how his story would turn out. And what a story it ended up being! It would be wrong to say anything more, I highly recommend you get this book (and read the other two first to have the full story!).
