Author of the long running Urban Fantasy 'Bite Back' series and the Science Fiction series 'Among the Stars' and 'The Long Way Home'.

Mark was born in Africa and left out in the sun too often.

An early interest in philosophy and psychology was adequately exorcised by tending bars. And while trying to enroll in a class to read Science Fiction full time, he ended up taking an engineering degree which splendidly qualified him to move into marketing. That in turn spawned a late onset career in creative writing.

When not working, Mark gets high by the slightly less conventional means of a small microlight aircraft, or down and dirty on a mountain bike.

He lives with his family in the south of England, but can often be found in the Rockies.

    Don't start this series with Don't Stop Now; the characters, situations, and relationships can only be fully enjoyed by starting at the beginning.
    I have loved these characters and their story from their beginning as a serial on Mark Henwick's blog, so I should be inured to the startling cliffhangers that seem to be Henwick's trademark....yeah, not so much. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
    Now that I have that out of my system...
    I read DSN in KU and immediately bought it (complete with horrifying cliffhanger) because I love these characters, both old and new, and I love this incredible story of bravery, love, found family, people doing the right thing, sorrow, amazingly vivid descriptions of a possible future for humanity, nail-biting adventures, laughter, and hope. The writing is excellent, the story is imaginative, and the characters will steal your heart. This series is one I have read many times and plan to read many more.

    Each book in this series just gets better and better. Love the characters and their journey trying to end piracy and the backing from corrupt officials from other planets. Would have given this five stars but hate cliffhanger endings where I have to wait to find out what happened. Am definitely hanging out for the next book. Other than that I highly recommend.

    What more is there to say?

    I'm more a swords and sorcery fan, but have loved this ongoing adventure of Jan and crew. Will say, given the ending the next book better be along sharpish, else 'I predict a riot'

    I came on to book for off a high of book 3 and I thought it couldn’t get any crazier.
