About the Author

With love and support and an absolute passion to become an author, I decided to take some creative writing courses which eventually led to a Creative Writing MA at Brunel University.I've loved to write and make up stories since I was a child and find a wealth of characters and plot ideas coming to me with regularity. It's not to say that all of these ideas are any good but every now and again an idea won't leave me alone and I have to just go for it and write that story.My first book series, called Island Secrets, all began with an idea I had to bring a fictious world to life based on my mother's stories about life growing up in Dominica and then coming to London in the late 1950s.I was so shocked and surprised to have my debut novel, Holding Paradise, published by Indigo Dreams in 2014. That sparked a series of short story ideas, which led to a novella and now a four book series. I re-worked and updated a 2024 version of Holding Paradise which became book 1 of the series. I'm currently working on a new book series and hope to publish the first of them in 2025.I moved from London to the English countryside with my musician husband where I teach vocals and lead a local choir. I also write under the pseudonym, Rosa Temple, writing contemporary fiction and published by HQ Digital and Simon & Schuster UK.

I've loved to write and make up stories since I was a child. Characters and plots come to me regularly. Some stories don’t make it past the imagining phase but every now and again an idea won't leave me alone, and the first draft of a new novel begins.

I decided to take some creative writing courses as an adult which eventually led to a Creative Writing MA at Brunel University. Ever since then I have been honing my writing skills ghost writing, copy writing and creating blog content for companies.

I was thrilled to have my debut novel, Holding Paradise, published by Indigo Dreams in 2014. The book and its characters sparked a series of short stories and a novella which, not published in their own right, led to the creation of the Island Secrets Series. I reinvented Holding Paradise and it became book 1 of the series, published in 2024. The year before that I published a stand alone book called Lovers.

​​I'm currently working on a new book series and hope to publish the first of them in 2025.

    In 1889, Rose is born. She is of mixed heritage. Her father deserts her mother before the child’s birth and the mother dies in childbirth leaving Rose an orphan. Mixed heritage in 1889 was frowned upon, especially on the West Indian island of Dominic. This is a short but completely immersive read as we follow Rose along her journey in discovering her identity and love. This is a hard book to write a review on that does not have spoilers, but I will say that the author was able to create such a beautiful and authentic scene with the dialect and the surroundings as I read this.

    In Book 3 of the Island Secrets Series, a novel set in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Clark writes beyond the usual themes in Women's fiction. Colonial discrimination according to race, class, and nationality as well as the disgraceful treatment of Caribbean soldiers fighting in WW I are exposed. As a bonus, the mystery connected to the silver locket, which appears throughout the series, is brought to light. Both romantic and thought provoking, the books in this series are a treat for astute readers.
