The Problem with Falling Kindle Edition
She’s sunshine and chaos dressed in a flower crown. She’s a wildflower in a world I’ve spent years trying to keep simple and quiet. She talks too much, smiles too easily, and doesn’t understand the meaning of personal space. Worst of all, she’s staying in my house for the summer, turning my carefully guarded world upside down.
I know I should keep my distance. People like her don’t stay, and I’ve had my fill of being left behind. But the more time I spend with her, the harder it is to remember why I built these walls in the first place. She’s getting under my skin—into my heart—and making me want things I’ve spent years trying to avoid.
Falling for Willow would be a mistake. She’s a free bird, and I’m the anchor she’s desperate to escape. But every time she looks at me, I can’t help but wonder: What if she’s not the one who’s meant to fly? What if, this time, I'm meant to soar?

About the author

Brittainy Cherry has been in love with words since the day she took her first breath. She graduated from Carroll University with a Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts and a minor in Creative Writing. She loves to take part in writing screenplays, acting, and dancing--poorly of course. Coffee, chai tea, and wine are three things that she thinks every person should partake in! Brittainy lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When she's not running a million errands and crafting stories, she's probably playing with her adorable pets.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2025his was the first book I read of The Problem series. I was happy that it could be read as a standalone. But now that I’ve read it, I want to be sure to read the other two books as well!
Brittainy did her thing and easily made me fall in love with Willow and Theo. They both had their own issues to work though but were able to help each other love and grow.
I was about 75% of the way in and I thought the book was okay, but not really hitting me in all the feels. Well, that instantly changed! Brittainy did her thing and I had to blow my nose and wipe away my tears more times that I could count. She created these characters with such huge wounds and baggage. I could literally feel their pain and suffering. She ripped my heart out but slowly pieced it back together! I cannot wait to talk to Brittainy and tell her how much I enjoyed this book!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 2, 2025Willow Rose Kingsley is a free spirit, forever moving and never slowing down to simply stop and rest. Never. When her friend and companion asks her to spend the summer in a small town in northeast Wisconsin to help her while her husband is sick and dying, Willow can’t refuse. In the process of moving, she meets her friend’s grandson: a grumpy, silent man who stutters when he’s unsure and lives to fish in the night. Theo allows Willow to stay in his home. Where Theo is silent, Willow can’t stop talking. While Theo stays in one place and hates going out, Willow can’t seem to stay in one place too long. Though opposites in every way, they find a tempo to move around each other and like a fly to the light, Theo finds himself intrigued by the Willow’s pull. She makes friends easily and smiles always but Theo recognizes and sees Willow's fears because he has them also. Her smiles just happen to hide her fear.
Both Willow and Theo deal with the trauma of losing their mothers that even as adults, it plays such a important role in how they deal with life. Willow is carefree, hiding her guilt, shame, and worries whereas Theo has allowed his years of pain and bullying to mask his true feelings and instead is just grumpy and angry all the time. In recognizing each other’s pain and how similar they are, is what leads them to be able to understand why they need each other. Willow is skittish, afraid to stay in one place and Theo is the strength that refuses to move until she is ready to land.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2025The Problem with Falling is a beautiful story! I can’t give it enough stars. I was emotional just reading the prologue. It’s rare for a story to give me everything I want in a romance, but this one did. Willow and Leo’s story had me laughing, crying, and absolutely giddy at times.
I’ve never seen a more perfect couple. Willow and Theo were made for each other. I loved the dynamics of their opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine, slow-burn romance. Theo is a grump with a huge heart and so much love to give. Willow is a free spirit and empath who feels it all. Both have some trauma from their pasts that have heavily impacted their adult lives. I loved how these two helped each other heal.
In addition to following Willow and Theo’s journey, we also get to follow the love story of Theo’s grandparents, Harry and Molly. I can’t express how much I enjoyed witnessing their love throughout the years. Their story was so beautiful and is the type of love everyone should strive for.
This book truly is phenomenal. Will it make you cry? Yes! Is it worth it? Absolutely! I loved getting lost in Willow and Theo’s world.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2025This was an extremely promising story. It had all the bones, but for me failed to deliver. I still liked it for what it was, but it was nothing more. I needed more. It fell flat about 40% in.
What I did love was seeing Harry and Molly's POV. It was a nice touch to the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Such a Beautiful and Emotional Story ❤️🥰
Omg, Ms Cherry, where have you been all my life? This book was EVERYTHING!, and I was a complete and utter emotional mess by the time I finished it - and omg, it felt so good to just let it all out 🥹😭
This story is a testament to the complexities of life, beautifully capturing both the joy and the heartache. The author's writing is exquisite, with a depth that draws you in and refuses to let go. I loved the dual timelines and the two love stories that unfolded, one in the past with Molly and Harry, and the other in the present with Willow and Theo. The use of four POVs added another layer of richness to the narrative, making the experience all the more immersive. With 35 highlights and countless precious moments to reflect on, this book is truly unforgettable.
Thank you Ms Cherry for making me feel all the feel. I loved that I cried so much 🙏🏼🥰

5.0 out of 5 stars 5⭐️
I definitely didn’t read this book with the intention to cry, but I must say it was worth every tear. Compared to the first two books I can put my hands up and say this is by far the best in the series. Willow is a free spirited woman who tried to find peace by running from her problems and Theo has experienced enough pain and heartbreak which has closed his heart to emotions so he’s not vulnerable.
The depth of the topics discussed was done so tastefully and I learnt the meaning of what living truly is. Harry and Holly were two beautiful souls that added that bonus to this book because how they loved reminded me sooo much of The Notebook. If you’re a fan of that movie then this book is right up your alley.
Sometimes you just need your person to catch you when you fall and see through your hard exterior, and that’s what Willow and Theo did for each other and more. Humour, forgiveness and love was in this book throughout and I could feel it with every page. I can’t recommend this grumpy sunshine book enough!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Maravilhoso / Wonderfull
Eu amei demais!!!
I don't remember reading any other book by Brittainy Cherry narrated by four people, but this one made perfect sense. I simply loved every single part of this book. And I cried, just like Willow, without realizing I was crying.
Seeing the inner healing of two people, while also learning from two others was amazing. I loved it so much!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars beautiful love story
The Problem with Falling by Brittainy Cherry is an emotionally charged, beautifully written story about healing, vulnerability, and unexpected love. The characters felt deeply human and raw. I loved the chemistry between the theo and willow and how their relationship grew to genuine connection. The banter was just right for me! 😍 The book tackles heavy themes with grace. The slow-burn romances will definitely enjoy this one.
