4.2 out of 5 stars 122 ratings

Rose Ridgewood can't stand her father's new employee. It isn't just Hayden O'Conner's attitude and criminal record that bothers her-it's his odd, silver eyes and the fact that she can't read him. It isn't until she becomes a victim in a deadly game of chase that secrets are uncovered that alter not only her views of Hayden, but of modern humanity. As Rose learns what Hayden really is, her emotions take her closer to him...and closer to danger. When lives are threatened she'll have to decide whether to stay safe at home in California, or follow what might be true love into the unknown.

It is filled with a lot of action and romance and one blends with the other. The author blends all her characters very well, letting you get to know each one of them. You feel love, hate and sadness depending the situation. Most of all you get to see a teenager mature into a young adult because of the situations thrust on her. The main character's decision to leave with her boyfriend, was a wise decision for her, just not for anyone else. She had to grow up very fast because her parents were into their own thing and divorced and had no time for her. She had good people who loved her, but when decision time came, it was her love for her boyfriend, Hayden, that won out. He was there for her, and even though her Father tried, it really isn't the same. I really liked reading this book and I am anxious to read a sequel. It's worth reading.

I've never written a review for the books that I read, but I just have to write one for this book. I can say I was very pleasantly surprised. This book was very well written for being $0.99 and from an author I know nothing about; however, there were a few inconsistencies, and the main character was a young 18 year old still in high school, so obviously she acted like one, but for the most part she was very relatable. There were some very humorous parts in the book that had me laughing out loud several times, and even though the male hero really rubbed me the wrong way in the beginning, I found myself really warming up to him throughout the book.

The story really had me guessing and I found myself eagerly wanting to know what happens next. I can honestly say that reading this book was a little bit of a breath of fresh air because it wasn't a cookie cutter example of all the other YA books out there. This is obviously a series, and I can not wait to read the next one!

It wasn't a bad book at all...a bit bland for me but I'm an older ya reader. I probably won't read the next one but that's simply personal preference. Great book for the younger ya readers though.

This is one intriguing YA fantasy. How can a normal (usually) young girl get tracked by a monster that only appears to be human, and find another, very much like him, who is willing to come to her rescue?

But there are problems with this knight. He is dangerous to touch; he has the personality of a troll; and he is very far from human. Furthermore, he has a past that includes murder. Was he the perpetrator?

Then even stranger things begin to happen, and Rose finds herself knee-deep in a world she never knew existed.
Not one page of this adventure is boring. You’ll be unable to put the book down. You’ll follow Rose as she tries to avoid monsters that are only visible sometimes, and you’ll be amazed as the unseen world around her becomes visible.

With excellent characterization, Roozenboom takes us into this world, making it believable, desirable, and horrible all at the same time. As Rose stumbles along, you’ll be cheering for her, agonizing for her, and hoping she gets the answers she is so determined to find.

The one thing that remains, after all is said and done, is a taste of silver.

I'm a sucker for the romance part of a PNR and was getting very impatient for that part to start, but when it did the story became really enjoyable. Rose kinda drove me crazy with her immaturity, judgement's, and assumptions. Being in her head wasn't so bad though, I think her relationships helped. I liked her relationship with her father and the guys from his shop, they were all equally protective of her and her father was a lot of fun and seemed pretty cool, although if you asked Rose she would say he was totally embarrassing. Her strained relationship with her mother also added an extra layer of interest to the story. At first I didn't think I would have any connection with most of the characters but as the story progressed I learned more about the ones most important to Rose's story and I found myself wandering what's going on with them at the moment.

I thought Rose had too much angst going on but after learning more about her past and experiences I came to understand her more. Her angst came from missing a piece of her heart, losing someone very close and dear to her at a very young age (won't get into that).

At first I thought this book was probably on the lower end of the young adult spectrum but the language did get a bit more grown up and conversations got heavier. So maybe appropriate for a more mature young adult.

In the end I thought this was a very good concept and story, so much more to the plot than I can divulge. I really liked it and thought if the story continues it could take so many different routes. It had a nice ending where it can stand alone but it would also be interesting to see where things go for Rose and Hayden.

I got this book because it was a free romance. I don't normally read Young/New Adult books but the blurb intrigued me. I loved the characters. They were great and ironically very much real in comparison to the fact that it was a fantasy book. The characters were very complex and Rose was an amazing heroine for the book. Her growth in her heart is great. While the ending is an ending I haven't checked to see if it is a series but I'm hoping that it is. While I like my books on the erotic side this still swept me away! Well worth the 0.99!!!!

a thrilling romance about faeries was not what I was expecting but it worked out really well. Silver is a gut twisting novel full of twists and turns I was literally at the edge of my seat. you'd think faeries are not the best to depict as romantic but it worked out really well. I loved this book and it is definitely worth reading.

A good book I want to read the next one. However I skipped a lot of this as there was a lot of description and events that were unnecessary.
