Tell Me How You Hate Me: An enemies to lovers, brother's best friend romance Kindle Edition
When life gives you your enemy, you make a deal with him…
Leo Wells is the last person I want to be skating with.
He’s aloof, abrasive… and stupidly attractive. Nevermind the fact that I had a lapse in judgment one night with him in the past.
We may not like each other, but I like winning more and if I want to do that, I need him.
We need each other.
Leo doesn’t like the idea anymore than I do, but we make a deal. We can put our differences aside and forget about our history so we can compete together.
It should be easy enough–after all, neither of us like the other.
But there’s a spark between us, one that reignites a burning fire we lit a long time ago.
The lines are blurring and melting like the ice around my heart.
Leo Wells is breaking through my walls, tearing them down one layer at a time.
And all I can do is tell him how I hate him…
Because I’m afraid I don’t hate him at all.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2024This was a quick read for me. I found it to be pretty low angst even though it was a slow burn relationship because of the tension between Leo and Aria. There was a lot of miscommunication and I felt like a lot of their hate could have been solved by a simple, honest conversation.
I loved the idea of a pairs skating couple hating each other off the ice but being made for each other on the ice. Aria and Leo spent years being competitors but when they both end up without partners, the simple solution was to become a team. They spent a lot of time together and a significant amount of that time they butted heads, but when they let go of their “hate” they found something magical.
I liked the pacing and the tension in this book. I especially appreciated the role Aria’s brother Austin played. One of my least favorite things about a brother’s best friend romance is usually when the brother tries to get in the way of the relationship, but Austin was probably one of the most level headed brothers I’ve read. He really listened to Leo and I loved how he was so on board with helping him win his sister over and gave him the confidence he needed when he was questioning if his feelings were real and reciprocated.
Overall this was a great book. It was fun and lighthearted. I loved how much skating was included. The characters were fun and lovable. It was a great escape book.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2025I loved this book. The tension back and forth is delicious. From the first page there is a fire of emotion but then it breaks leaving you wondering what is going on. It’s clear emotions are everywhere but are they ever on the same page??? The back and forth with these two characters isn’t annoying, but it’s balanced with the plot. My imagination can easily picture the skating. The competition with the figure skating is at a beautiful balance with how the main characters are emotionally throughout the plot. Definitely one of the best skating books I’ve read.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2024This review is in no reflection of the author or how the story was written. It just didn’t grab me the way other Enemies to Lovers did.
It was my own expectation that made the story fell flat as based on reviews I thought I was getting something else entirely.
This is more rivals to lovers and not enemies to lovers
Still an okay palette cleanser

- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2024Cali Melle's "Tell Me How You Hate Me" ticks off all the boxes for a fun read: enemies turning into lovers, the brother's best friend trope, and of course, the backdrop of competitive ice skating! When Aria and Leo lose their ice skating partners, they're forced to team up, despite not being able to stand each other. The tension between them is palpable, with their banter feeling like a never-ending game of verbal tennis. Aria's personal growth throughout the story, especially in dealing with her anxiety, is a highlight, while Leo's protective nature adds a swoon-worthy element to the mix. Although the third act breakup and miscommunication scenario wasn't a favorite, I still recommend "Tell Me How You Hate Me" for fans of spicy, sports-centered enemies to lovers romance. It's a page-turner that's sure to keep you entertained!

"Tell Me How You Hate Me" by Cali Melle is a brother's best friend, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity romance full of spice, angst, and rivalry. The main characters, Aria and Leo, have some wonderful, sometimes catty banter with each other. Once they "do it once to get it out of their system," they both catch feelings and FAST. Even though they have known each other for years, the story still feels a little insta-love-y. My main complaint is that, while Aria and Leo clearly have a severe disdain for one another, there's not really a straightforward *reason* why they hate each other. They constantly *say* they hate each other, but there's not one specific instance pointing to *why.* It seems like everyone around them also feels the same way? Like they have no clue why they hate each other and no one ever says why!?? There's not a lot of development before or after Leo and Aria get together... they just bone *a lot.* This feels like a book that was built around borking. If you're looking for something to read with a ton of spice, this will fit the bill. I like spice just as much as the next person, but I would have liked a little more character development. For a book that is as long as this one, it gets a little repetitive. If you want to read a deep-rooted deep-dive relationship-driven romance, you'll probably want to look elsewhere.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2024Their story was so beautiful. Them being rivals to lovers was done so well, and the angst and tension between them was everything. I fell in love with both of them from the first page and could not put this book down. Aria was such a sweetheart, and honestly as someone who also suffers with anxiety, I felt that I could relate to her and understand her more. And the way Leo talked about her made my heart swoon. The passion and spice was also top tier. I also loved the witty banter and sass from both of our characters. Their chemistry on and off the ice is unmatched and so unique, and for me that’s what really sold the tension on their enemies/rivals to lovers. I also really enjoyed the storyline, following their figure skating journey and getting a different look into the sports romance genre. It was fun, unique and I enjoyed it.

Aria y Leo, los mejores competidores en la pista y en el amor. Por eso son perfectos el uno para el otro.

The chemistry and understanding that Aria and Leo have on the ice isn't the same outside of it.
They've known each other since school; Leo and Aria's brother are best friends, but they can't stand each other. Or at least that's what they tell themselves.
When they both end up without partners and the only option is to team up, they have to spend more time together than they'd like. After all, they don't like each other and absolutely feel nothing when they touch, and they definitely don't remember that night...
The chemistry and banter between them were so fun to follow, and while I was reading, I kept thinking, for God's sake, realize that what you feel isn't dislike.
I loved Aria so much. Seriously, she's amazing, and I liked how the story portrayed her anxiety. As for Leo, well, I admit I wasn't sure about him at first, but he won me over. He showed his protective side and how much he cares about her, and I melted. 🤭
They had cute moments that made me smile, but when they allowed themselves to be vulnerable with each other, those were my favorite scenes.

This was a lovely story of professional skaters who are paired up after both their partners retire.
They don’t like each other but skate perfectly together and have great chemistry. Can they make it work?
This was well written and you really felt for them.

“Leo Wells will always be the greatest mystery in my life.”
Oh my goodness!!! I devoured this book so quickly because I was so enthralled with these characters that I couldn’t put it down. I’m going to be needing all the figure skating partner recommendations after this one.
“If I didn’t plan on being alone forever, I’d consider making you mine.”
Leo and Aria may not like each other but when they are both left without skating partners, they have no choice but to team up. Aria has a crazy amount of pressure to be perfect and I found myself resonating with her at times. The banter, feistiness and spice were perfection.
“Don’t stop there, baby. Tell me how you hate me.”
These two have a crazy amount of chemistry on and off the ice. Listen I was INVESTED In their skating scenes. The way that it was described down to all the little details made me feel like I was watching it all unfold. I loved getting insight to a sport I don’t know too much about and what goes into their performances and training.
“There isn’t a single thing I want to keep from Aria Reed, not even my heart.”
I’m a sucker for that moment in books when you see the dynamic change. Leo may have fought his feelings for Aria but when he accepts it, nothing will stop him. Their story was beautiful, emotional and everything I love to see in books. I can’t wait to continue in this world.
