Tempting the Player (Campus Wallflowers Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 4,218 ratings

He’s the last guy I should fall for.

Valley U was supposed to be my fresh start after I escaped the glitz and glam of Hollywood.
I didn’t want to be the former child star who graced TV screens across the world.
I wanted to feel normal.
When the same hot guy runs past my off-campus house every day, I assume he’s another college student.
When he protects me from boys who still think of me as the character from their teenage dreams, I think he is being kind.
When my past comes back to haunt me, he makes me feel safe.
I’m falling hard and fast for a guy I barely know.
Until I realize my mysterious new crush has a secret.
He was hired to be my undercover bodyguard.

Tempting the Player is a grumpy / sunshine bodyguard romance with spice, banter, and a happily ever after. It's the fourth book in the Campus Wallflowers series, and can be read as a standalone.

Loved this bodyguard romance
Tempting the Player was such a great ending to the series. Rebecca Jenshak wrote one of her college romances we love with a suspenseful twist and I loved every second of it. We still get the fun interactions between the girls, college parties and all of that but with a Jane twist because well she was a child star who just was trying to go to school anonymously until she outed herself and well now she gets a hot bodyguard. Jane is still very much a ray of sunshine while Hendrick is grumpy, just ask his little brother who will tell you he smiles more when Jane is around. Ending this series with my all time favorite trope just adds to the charm of this book. This book has hands down become my favorite book. Sorry Lincoln, Hendrick dethroned you after over 3 years of being my favorite. I really cannot wait to see where Rebecca Jenshak does from here.

I didn’t think anyone would take down Jordan Thatcher, but man Hendrick Holland just came crashing in and said hold my drink. Tempting the Player is book 4 in the Wallflowers series. These 4four best friends found their friendship at Valley U. They discovered who they are and who they want to be. Jane might have been Ivy Green, a singer and child star, but she left that life behind to be just Jane. As it is announced that she is Ivy, someone decides that she shouldn’t be at Valley U any longer. Hendrick is back home with his brothers. As he continues to work out to stay in shape, he manages to catch Jane’s eye. As someone who has watched all three of her friends find love, she isn’t about to let him get away. Except he seems to keep his distance unless it is to save her in some way. Sparks fly and they both have to work together to keep her safe. With the help of the Holland brothers, Jane finds out that family has so many different looks, but this one is extra special.

This book was fantastic. We get the most beautiful story that has a twist of suspense and honestly it brings in even more to these characters. Not just Jane and Hendrick, but also Daisy, Jordan, Violet, Gavin, Dahlia and Felix. We also get some great supporting characters in Knox, Archer, Brogan and Flynn. There is something fun with these brothers and I truly hope that we will see them again, maybe in their own series. I fell in love with Hendrick and how unbelievably protective he is of Jane. Yes it is his job, but you can tell that it is so much more that. It is being the oldest of the Holland brothers and doing everything he can to make life for his brothers better. This man has done everything he could to support his brothers as well as strive to reach his dream. There is so much I want to add with this but honestly I don’t want to give anything that could lead into a spoiler as honestly you just need to read this one. I loved everything about this book and had it easily read in an afternoon.

Hendricks is a full swoon book boyfriend and I was totally invested in the grumpy-sunshine interplay between him and Jane. An undercurrent of romantic suspense runs through this college romance between the older Hendricks (25) and Jane (20). I’m continually impressed by Rebecca Jenshak’s romantic small moments. She seems to have a knack for writing touches, hair sweeps and looks that leaves me with butterflies. It’s especially true with Hendricks, who is trying to keep things professional between himself and Jane. Each of those small moments both amp up the burn and prove their chemistry. Add into this story, a great family to build upon and I was was all in and breezed through this in a day.

Jane’s a former teen star who recently revealed her identity to her classmates and friends. Unfortunately, she also made herself relevant again to the paparazzi and crazy fans. Hendrick’s enters the picture as the new, grumpy neighborhood hottie. Turns out he’s also a former NFL player with a side job. After running into one another repeatedly, Jane can’t help but fall for him and despite his effort to stay friends, Hendricks has the same problem. He’s protective on all the right ways and I found their romance totally charming. 4.5 stars. 2 peppers.

I really enjoyed how this series came to an end for the Wallflowers. After Jane ousted herself as a former child star and her parents hired an undercover bodyguard, her story was full of steamy, funny, stormy twists and turns. I absolutely did not see the bad guy for he was until it was revealed… although in hindsight I realize I probably should have. I can’t wait to read more about the Holland brothers!!

Jane is an ex pop star who’s been going to college in secret but when the truth comes out some people don’t take it well. She starts getting threats. Hendrick is Jane’s bodyguard but she doesn’t know that quit yet. Jane thinks they just happen to keep running into each other and the more time Hendrick spends with Jane the more the feelings begin to grow for the both of them. Hendrick was a pro football player that got injured early in his career and has 4 brothers at home who need him. He thought this job was the perfect way to start helping make up for being gone so long from home and help out. I really liked Hendrick i thought he was super protective and sweet and i liked how Jane got him out of his shell a little and made him realize what i good guy he is. I liked Jane and the brothers relationship with her was super cute. Especially Flynn, the high schooler. They immediately brought her in like family and were just as protective as Hendrick. The only reason this wasn’t a 5 star was because it was a little far fetched. I didn’t really care for the whole secret pop star story line, i kind of just wish she kept it a secret and they met a different way. But over all a good book, the spice was good.

This was PERFECT by all means. I love this wallflower series a lot, and am sad to see them go!
Although the author gave herself the perfect possibility to continue somehow in this world, as the main characters of this book has lots of brothers! So let’s hope!! 🤞🏼

Hendrick and Jane. Oh my god. My kindle was melting in between, because this book is so good. It’s flirty, it’s hot, it’s fun and so much swoon! So many laugh out loud moments, especially between the brothers.

The girl gang! Always there for each other. This is something everyone needs in their life.

I really hope the author brings the brothers story’s to life 😉 I would love to read about them.

All in all, the Wallflower series is definitely one of my favorites and I can’t recommend it enough! Enjoy reading!!

I will admit I was hesitant at first to read this due to Hendricks being a new character. However, I loved this story and that he was still in some way tied in to this Valley U world and the characters.

I also loved the slow burn, communication and happiness these characters brought to each other.

“Good girl. Keep those pretty green eyes on me.”

I had mixed feelings going into this read because I truly didn’t want this series to end. Each story was special in their own way and watching these four besties fall in love and find their way was magical to see.

In the last book, we find out Janes secret. She was a child star and by revealing that to her classmates, it alerted everyone where she was.

In this book, she is finding her new normal. Trying to continue with school while balancing the media and people recognizing her. Her parents are worried for her safety and that is where Mr.Hendrix comes in.

Oh he gave it everything he had to keep their relationship professional but he had no chance against Jane. I love how confident she is and not afraid to go after what she wants.

I loved the suspense in the story with a threat looming over Jane. Their whole journey at me captivated. I also need to shoutout the Holland Brothers and will be begging Rebecca for a spin off series.
