Shauna lives near Nashville, TN with her husband, son, and their dog. She loves books, coffee, wine, and bacon, in no particular order.

My Review 🥃🌻🥃🌻🥃Southern Poison was my first book from Shauna Jared and will not be the last one by a long shot!🥃 Ace Dalton is the spoiled rich boy who just likes to spend money and drink his families whiskey. That is until he’s cut off and forced to become an active member of the business. When he joined on he had no idea what’s was in store for him but when a bachelor action comes up he’s thrust into the spotlight and in turn puts him on a certain grandmothers radar.🌻 Callie wanted nothing to do with men after the terrible breakup and her heart being so closed off she never wanted to worry about dating. Yet with an inheritance closing in and her grandmother wanting her to find her person she ends up at an “art” fundraiser or so she thought.I absolutely loved these two character together. They are so different but in some ways the same. The attraction is instant and from the first glances you could tell it’s was something different.Obstacles of course get in the way of these two and Ace does make a idiot of himself in a big way. When he finally realizes what his mistake is it may be to late unless he can pull out all the stops for Callie.Callie runs with her wounded heart but for how long could she stay away from Ace?I loved this book so much and I can’t wait for everyone to be able to read it! 🌻

Southern Poison is the first book by Shauna Jared that I’ve read and I devoured it in one day because the story is that good. Ace & Callie—whew! What powerful chemistry they have. It pulled me in from the very beginning, as well as the complexity of their story. I felt every emotion while reading it. Shauna is so good at painting scenes with her words—I was able to visualize every one of them so clearly. I could see the whiskey being poured, I could smell the cigarette smoke, and I could easily see all the ways that Ace romanced Callie from beginning to end. And now, I have a new appreciation for sunflowers. Five stars, Shauna Jared! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Southern Poison is a quick and enjoyable read. I really liked these characters. I enjoyed them so much that I actually wish this story was longer! Ace is a tattooed bad boy with massive daddy issues and a strong lack of motivation when we first meet him. It doesn’t take long for him to want to change his ways. I liked that he wasn’t trying to change his behavior only for Callie. He wanted to be better for himself and his family as well. I also liked how issues were discussed as soon as they came up. There were no mind games being played between Callie and Ace. Sure he left out a sorta crucial piece of information, but even that didn’t feel like too much of a betrayal. Overall I liked this story, the intro to the Dalton brothers, and the breadcrumbs for book two.

Even though they were both incredibly attracted to each other, I loved how the relationship blossomed over the dates and they didn't just fall in bed right away... It made the first time, so HOT!! I loved the growth in family dynamics and am super excited for Nick's book!! I really hate when people give too much away in the review, haha, so I'm not going to do that. I'm just going to say, go get this book!!

This was my first of Shauna Jared’s books & I seriously need to check out more of her books! First off we get the bad boy who is forced to reform is ways. Add in his creative side and I don’t know how you could possibly not fall for him! Then we get the artist who has given up on giving her heart away. On the surface these two shouldn’t work, but they are absolutely perfect!

This book not only has great growth from the main characters, but I love how Ace’s relationship changes and grows with his family.

This book is seriously amazing & I cannot wait for the next one!

I’ll admit-I was not prepared to fall in love with Ace Dalton. But he and Callie’s story took me on a wild ride that I devoured in one sitting!

The sunflowers were so beautiful that I actually cried, which I don’t tend to do!

Callie and Ace shared a beautiful, realistic connection, and I can’t wait for the drama to continue in book two!

I loved that both the characters had a good growth, both individually and together.

Callie learns to love herself, and at the same, also learns that it's okay to open herself up to love. I also LOVED that she was an artist, a painter to be exact. All the descriptions of paint colors and brushes and stuff had me like 🤍🤍

Ace finally figures out what he wants in life. He's lead a self-destructive life so far, struggling to settle down and stick to his goals, and this book shows his struggles and his efforts in a real manner 🤍🤍

Callie and Ace's scenes together were amazing. They were so sweet, they're all perfect for rereading ❤️

The story was beautiful throughout, I teared up in a lot of places 🥲 the whole book was written so well, I could hardly keep it down ❤️ I'm very excited for book 2 in this series as well.. based on the few scenes that book 2's pair had in this book, I'm sure it's gonna be explosive 😂🤍
