5.0 out of 5 stars 2 ratings

If you had the chance to be a superhero, would you? Even if you were a backup superhero, doing all of the work and getting none of the credit?

Readers can now jump in and binge-read the entire series The Backup Superhero: Books 1-3.

1. The Backup Superhero:

If you had the chance to be a superhero, would you? Even if you were a backup superhero, doing all of the work and getting none of the credit?

Becoming a superhero isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Let’s be realistic, people don’t have superpowers. But if you have enough determination to make it through training, you have a chance to be the modern-day superhero, stopping one criminal at a time…or doing everyone else’s job and getting none of the credit.

After Tanser girl comes to terms with her non-celebrity level status in the superhero world, someone else from Level D decides it’s their moment to shine, shaking up the entire system, while leaving her to pick up the pieces.

2. The Original Superheroes:

Every Superhero League needs an origin story, but who would have thought it would have been about a barkeep named Frank?

When Frank finds corruption within the Police Department, everything he thought was true starts to unravel.

Enlisting two other trustworthy officers to help him uncover the mystery, Frank's path goes where he never thought it could.

3. The Backup Who Cried Wolf:

Backup superhero Dwighter's hopes and dreams felt dead in their tracks the day he was placed as a Level D superhero. Among the superhero community, he is known as the drunk backup superhero that no one can count on.

One night, however, Dwighter's luck changes when he overhears two backup superheroes discussing a plan to cross over to the criminal world. The only problem is, when Dwighter tries to tell Tanser Girl what he overheard, he's questioned and speculated as to how drunk he was when he overheard it.

Now is Dwighter's time to step up and uncover the plan a few wayward backups and criminals made that could disrupt the government and superhero system itself.

At the end of each book, readers will also discover bonus content and hierarchy charts pertaining to The Backup Superhero Universe.

Reviews:

"Towards the end, during one of their times hanging, I was in tears. I'm such a sap when the right mood and words hit. This is one book that just fit at the right time and found me in the right mood. Anywhere Else is exactly what I needed and I can't recommend this one enough for those who just want something sweet and uplifting."- Bookn.All.Night for Anywhere Else

"It's a short work. In fact, if you're a fast reader like myself, you'll have this done in a couple of hours, but don't let that fool you. It's an wonderful read with interesting characters that you want to know more about as well as the world they live in and you're definitely left wanting to know what happens next!"- Steve Vimes for The Backup Superhero

"This is an incredibly powerful and moving read. From the first few pages this is emotionally charged and deals with some difficult issues for a young character. Sadi is such a strong female lead, and Parker was a brilliant bestie too. I felt for both of these characters from the off. Some surprising events and a moving outcome."- Bobs and Books Blog for Secrets They Never Told

"What a lovely colourful book. Kayla's art work pops with colour and cheer, this beautiful book, with its tale of acceptance and how everyone (every flower) is different, and is a must for all children to have on their bookshelves."- Chris Horn for Dandelion

    The Backup Superhero

This story follows a D Level superhero who goes by the name of Tanser Girl. As part of the lowest echelon of heroes, there is no fame or glory for what she does, but she's content with remaining out of the spotlight.

However, things go awry when another D Level makes the news. This upsets the balance within the League of Superheros and Tanser Girl catches the scent of threat that may put the league at risk.

Ultimately, The Backup Superhero is a quick read that is filled with twists and turns. This story being grounded in reality only makes the characters and their actions more relatable. Well worth a read!

    The Original Superheros

This story follows a patrol officer named Frank who crashes his police cruiser during a high-speed chase through the city. While on medical leave he discovers the case has gone cold, and takes matters into his own hands.

Frank soon finds himself neck-deep in the criminal underworld replete with tenebrous links to law enforcement. His choices will not only shape his career, but the future of law enforcement in the city.

The Original Superheroes is a gritty tale that will keep you glued to your seat. As with The Backup Superhero, realism sells this story. Well worth a read!

    The Backup Who Cried Wolf

This story focuses on Dwighter, a D Level superhero who saves the day by rescuing a truckload of people. However, as usual, gets none of the credit. While drowning his sorrows and the voices in his head, he overhears the name of a well-known crime lord.

This triggers a series of events that will put The Leave of Superheros, and the city itself in peril. Given his chequered past and propensity for heavy drinking, will anyone take him seriously?

The Backup Who Cried Wolf is a quick read filled with sarcasm and wit. This sheds light on the plight of the D Levels and puts the human element of being a superhero front and centre. Well worth the price of admission!
