About the Author

Henrietta Meire is a British audiobook narrator and actress. After running her own consulting company, she decided to focus on her love of acting, narration, and travel, and she hasn't looked back since. As a classically trained actress, she has a passion for Shakespeare and a penchant for creating the fantastical characters found in children's books and fantasy. In her spare time, she helps low-income and homeless individuals prepare for, find, and retain employment around Los Angeles.

C.L. Jennison is the author of The Desperate Wife, What's Mine Is Yours, and Her Twisted Fiction. Through her business Penning and Planning, she has been helping fellow authors with their book-editing, ghostwriting, and formatting needs since 2018. Prior to that, she taught English and English literature and worked in the newspaper-planning department at Grimsby Evening Telegraph. She has degrees in English and creative writing and lives in Hull, East Yorkshire, with her husband, dog, and cat.

Claire launched C. L. Jennison Editorial in 2018, offering manuscript editing services to writers. Now she specialises in helping fellow crime fiction authors edit their story outlines and novels.

Earlier in her career, she taught English and English literature for over a decade, after achieving her degree in English and Creative Writing. Before that, she worked at the Grimsby Evening Telegraph, first in classified ads then in newspaper layout planning. She has always worked with words and/or publications!

Now, Claire is living her dream as a published author of psychological thrillers with Bloodhound Books. She lives in Hull, East Yorkshire, with her husband, dog and cat. She is happiest when she is absorbed in a twisty crime fiction novel, either at home with her adorable animals by her side or on a plane to somewhere exotic!

    Ava is a lonely, wealthy married woman who is easily manipulated. Her abusive husband, Rex, is a nasty womanizer, there is nothing redeemable about him. Ava self esteem is so low she doesn’t have the strength to leave her lonely marriage to a man who shows her nothing but hate. Rex has managed to isolate Ava from the world. He doesn’t even “allow” her to have social media. All this is done to control her and her money. He makes it obvious he is only there for the money. He feels he deserves it. Ava becomes involved with one of her online student, Ali. Her life changes when she decides to meet him in real life. Just when you think you know where this book is headed it changes course, then changes again. I really liked how Ava’s story ended.

    The only thing that made me insane was the repeated mention of thirty years but it was twenty.. 1998-2018 is 20 years. Other than that, I stayed up late to finish, good read.

    The main character, Ava, was really hard to like. She was sobbing the entire first 3/4 of the book. I understand she had reason for acting this way bc of her horribly abusive husband but I didn’t like how she latched into Ali so quickly. All the men in this book are jerks, which was the writer’s intention and kind of the moral of the story. It all led to a soap opera when I was looking for a thriller.

    Even though this book starts slow and somehow confusing, I'm glad I kept this several POVs book because once you get the hang of it it grabs you and you really want to know what is going to happens next.
    The book, as mentioned is told thru several different points of views, each one of them different and with his/her own story. Stories that intercept and mesh at the end in an unexpected way.
    The main female character, Ava, is not very likable and at times her behavior is annoying, but I did like the way her character grows throughout the story to the point of her committing acts that we would never dream bout at the beginning of the book.
    The book does have several twists and unexpected situations that make it a good read.

    This book was miles better than many i have read on my kindle as it starts great and ends even greater with absolutely no boring bits in-between.
