Omegaverse is not my favorite genre but the blurb of this one captured my imagination and I had not read anything by these authors before. It was short: about 90 pages without the Afterward. I’ll say it gripped me immediately and I didn’t stop reading until the end.
Horace Lewis is an Alpha and after the horrors he witnessed and participated in during the Civil War, went to Vermont to be alone. Being so far from civilization he’s all but forgotten the rut that can occur if being around an Omega in heat. He’s asked to find El Diablo aka Skyler Reyes, a rare male Omega because Horace can sniff him out, which becomes much easier than expected because Skyler is in heat.
Oh. My. Word. This was a scintillating, explicit “romance,” I’m using that word loosely. Loved the ending. There will be drama, revelations with a satisfying HEA for these two characters and their compatriots. This was a well-written, edited and translated story. Fascinating plot. I’m already wondering what will happen in the next book in this series. If you enjoy M/M omegaverse, try out this short story. I think you may be surprised. I surely was. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Gay Romance Reviews.

Omegaverse in the Wild West! I've read a fair amount of omegaverse, but this is the first time I've seen it in this setting, so I was intrigued as soon as I read the blurb. And what about that cover? I absolutely love that cover, and it's kind of perfect for this story.
This is a quick read, easily finished in about an hour, but what it lacks in pages, it makes up for in story. Of course, it's a quick shift from enemies to lovers for Horace and Skyler, but it works well with the alpha/omega storyline. Both of these guys are hardened by the lives they've lived, but both somehow still have such great hearts. There are several tropes wrapped up in this alpha/omega Wild West romance, including interracial, found family, opposites attract, forced proximity, cowboy, lawman and criminal... I'm sure I've missed some, but my point is that it all comes together for a thoroughly entertaining story that grabbed my interest on page one and held on tight until the very last word.
This is translated from its original Italian, and I have to hand it to the translators because this is a pretty smooth read all the way through. There was an odd phrasing or two, but nothing that didn't make sense to the story or interrupted the flow. The story is well done, and I could easily read more set in this world. So, I'd say if you like omegaverse and you're looking to while away an hour or so, this is one to check out.

I was quite engrossed in this debut English short omegaverse story by the Italian author. I really enjoyed the strong omega main character, Skyler. He's trying to defy what society pegged him as a commodity or a freak and give hope and freedom to people like himself. Then there's the alpha, Horace, who's trying to compensate for his role in the atrocities of the war on his people. Each character's hurt and struggles are laid out with care and with real emotions. The plot was intriguing and easy to follow. Again, such a great short!

Skyler Reyes is an omega, the one called two spirits by native Americans. He is also a hunted man. He and his gang of outcasts do the best they can as outlaws. He has come to the attention of the Pinkertons. Horace Lewis, an alpha, has been hired to find and bring him back to face justice. He is not the only one on Skyler’s trail. John Jacobi, a cruel headhunter, is also tracking him. Horace took the job of hunting down Skyler based on facts he was given which turned out to be wrong. When Horace does manage to capture him, there are decisions to be made. Skyler is in heat and Horace may the only one who can save him.

The Devil started out slow and built in intensity to where you did not want to put it down. There was so much back story and so many wrongs that Skyler was trying to right some while Horace thought he could right at least one of them. Skyler and Horace together were inevitable and turned out to be amazing together. Skyler was not the typical omega and Horace was not the typical alpha, but together they were perfect. This story will leave you with a smile on your face.

This book takes place in the "old west", and the main characters Horace and Skylar are an alpha and omega respectively. This is a very short book so it's perfect for a lazy afternoon read. I feel like the characters and the storyline were portrayed well and completely, but of course if the book had been longer, I would have enjoyed that, too. I like the illustrations included as it's something different.
I was given an advanced copy from Gay Romance Reviews. This review is freely and honestly given.

This was a nice story and the first book I have read after translation. The translation was pretty good, there were only a few spots that felt off. I enjoyed the story hut had a little bit of trouble with the characters and how fast they changed their minds about the other but I was glad that Horace was able to offer Skyler and his crew a safe place to land.

This was good but different. I don’t read a lot of A/O but I found this premise to be unique so interest was piqued… and it did hold interest beginning to end. Great world-building with enough old-West to give a sense of familiarity. There is a grittiness to this…all characters dealing with the aftermath of a brutal war. There was action, adventure, sensuality, and a bit of steam.

The setting is an alternative world that is harsh toward objectified Omegas. Alphas are painted as uncivilized beasts with full power over Omegas. Poor Skyler is an outlaw, an Omega man in heat and Horace is an Alpha paid to bring him in dead or alive… hunting Skyler by scent. Neither Horace or Skyler is a bad guy here but these men are adversaries in every way…brought together first by hormonal urges then stayed together due to a bond and shared value in the oppressed.

The vibe is cool… drawings added something more. I could read more about this universe and band of misfit Alphas and Omegas
