About the author

I write Medieval Fantasy Adventures set in the thirteenth century in a small independent kingdom to the east of England.
Alchemy and the occult run through this medieval world, in which Lord Rory of Hambrig fights the demons within himself as much as the forces that threaten to overpower his castle.
I am an author and musician, passionate about the late thirteenth century. I produce a regular newsletter for readers of my books: The Household News.
Sign up for The Household News and you’ll immediately receive a free ebook prequel: Mansurah: Jonny's Tale, an exciting adventure set in Egypt during the Seventh Crusade!

5.0 out of 5 stars A gripping tale.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWhat an emotional roller coaster this book is. Especially the ending. Just when I’d accepted all that had happened and how I’d been on the wrong track all along, it finishes with a tantalising teaser! Now I have to wait until March for the next adventure! I’m intrigued to discover what happens next. There are so many different threads to follow, but it’s never boring. I love the fact that all the characters have their own little foibles and character defects. It’s all so real to me. And I learn so much more about the history of the time. R. Marsden is a great author. I do hope he continues to write these tales.
