While Maer struggles to secure a prosperous future for Emberya, Andalia had already forgone fighting for her own. Gowns instead of shackles, she is trapped in the exact life she had tried to escape.
The one thing she hadn't counted on, however, was to find a friend in her enemy's son.
As they help each other survive the games of court, Maer and Andalia realize the king's actions impact far more than just their individual fates. But even that is only the beginning...
Let the Winds carry you on in THE HEART, the second part of The Iron Head Trilogy!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2020This book has different stories but you read it and wonder what is going to happen. As your heart strings are being pulled you should come to realize that they will tie in eventually. This is the mystery.
I loved this book... am so looking forward to next one in the series, "The Bird". To describe this book it is intense, but not really in a oh my goodness like crime drama books I have read in the past. It is mysterious and gets your mind saying what is happening here, it is sad, it is why is this going on and feeling tenderness for the characters, and frustration and maybe even some forms of hatred for others. Admiration and it is a great story and layed out well.... I am cheering for some of the characters not to give away spoilers and hoping for them to find the peace and hope they need.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2017Waiting on pins and needles for the last of this trilogy. With any luck the defeat of the evil, evil, evil king will be just what he deserves and more. Love the mercenary princess and her noble prince. Here's to the restoration of the kingdom.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2017I bought this book after reading book one in a sample of shifter books. The Heart Part Two started with no connection to the plot in Book One. The plot then jumped back and forth and ended in a confusing cliffhanger. Book 3 has not been written yet!
Don't waste your money on this book, it is a terrible loser.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2017Two females fight their fate and injustice in hope of a better life.
Andalia is a young woman also a Princess and leaves home to get away from Court at the Castle and fixed marriages.
Lithrel is a child and her people are in the run trying to keep ahead of men wanting to drain their essence killing many of her people.
The story is well written, interesting and draws you in making you want more.
Kos has done a great job creating this series wirh likeable and entertaining characters.
I would highly recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed this ARC book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2017I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
This is a great continuation of the series and with the arc that the storyline has taken in this second book I cannot wait to read the conclusion in The Bird. The author takes you on a journey with such a descriptive writing style that it feels lovely or you are living the adventure yourself.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2017Two parallel stories, seemingly unconnected yet both enthralling, weave a web of anguish and struggle against an overpowering evil, a twisted and malevolent fate that seems to be impossible to overcome.
The readers must will themselves to be patient, because the plot is not immediately discernable, creating an intriguing mental exercise as that patience gradually pays off in a fantastic story!
The promise of hope, along with a flash of realization, appear only in the very last lines, leaving the reader gnashing impatiently for the next installment of the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2017the trilogy just keeps getting better....all I can say is WOW!!!
