The Hunt Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 98 ratings

Disgraced detective turned private investigator, Ray Clancy, left the force with a case unsolved. Finding the killer was no longer his problem, but it still haunted him. How long would he survive the frustration of not knowing before he gave into the compulsion of his nature to solve the crime?

Server Andrew Shay existed where he didn't feel he belonged, living behind the guise of a costume. Yet it paid the bills, and he refused to complain about the little things in life. One night he returned home from work to find his roommate dead and the killer still there. Afraid and alone, his life spiraled, and he didn't know what to do. Could a detective at his core and a scared young man join forces to bring down the killer in their midst?

Contains mature themes.

A great detective mystery with all the guessing games readers of detective novels love. Add in some murders and some spiciness between the MC's and we have the perfect mix.

I thought it was a great collaboration. I hope to see more from the two in the future.

I’ve just finished reading THE HUNT for the second time. Together, Davidson King & J M Dabney wrote a book that’s worth reading.

Danny and King are both fantastic authors but together they were really good! I loved this book. It kept my attention until the very end! Hopefully they will collaborate again.

Spectacular story! I love how the mystery and love story didn't overshadow each other. There was no huge love scenes when there should have been action. Well written! I hope these two authors collaborate again. I was already a fan of J.M. Dabney, but now I found a new author to check out! Kudos! For a job well done!

It’s been a few days since I finished this on audible and could start it all over again. The characters are well thought out and real. Great job! More please!

I'm a big fan of Davidson King but this is the first thing I've read by JM Dabney. This was a great read from start to finish, could not put it down.

Andy is a young guy who becomes victim adjacent and Ray is the ex detective now P.I. that Andy reaches out to for help.
As they work together to find the killer they become involved.
Both these men were so lonely and in need of friendship and love.
There was plenty of light moments with unexpected friends that helped soften the darkness.
The desperation to find the killer leads to an unexpected turn of events that had me racing towards the finish line.

Once again another thrilling read from Davidson-King I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Even when I was doing other things, my mind was racing with this story taking up so much space in my head! Even going to sleep it followed me too. The actual characters were exciting with Ray & Andy learning to navigate their world with a sadistic killer following their every move& with their group of mob bosses well let’s say it was always interesting. It’s a must read if you like a thrilling ride!

A quick suspense read with a good plot and a sprinkle of spice. An insta love read with hunting a serial killer. More like a novella without a super heavy plot.
    A good pallet cleaner
