Addictive and adventurous! A world of vampires in charge and humans who are not, court intrigue, secrets, betrayals, insurgence, and ultimately coming of age - leaving the protected tower to see the truth and maybe where you fit in. An engaging and imaginative fantasy tale.

This was a sweet short read, with a very easy to follow and obvious premise. Insta love, insta hate, with a dash of human vs vampire and being scared of our responsibilities which is incredibly relatable.

I did like Kyle but think he just need a little more fleshing out to make me see a lot more of what the FMC was seeing. Overall, a really enjoyable quick read.

I really was on edge about how I felt about the main character of Emilia Raven, some times I cheered for her and other times I wanted to shake her. Honestly I have to say though for the age range of the character, I feel these feeling fit. I don't really know what else to say that won't give things away, but the ENDING!!! Oh my gosh!!! I flipping tossed my kindle across the room and yelled!!

I wanted to like this based on the summary and that gorgeous cover, but I didn't click with this one. I felt like the main character was a bit sheltered and the wrong kind of stubborn. The world was interesting and there were some interesting moments. But it just wasn't for me. If you like vampires and quick romance, you might like this one.

For someone who hated vampires (thanks, Twilight), I was quite surprised that I picked up this book even when the pigs weren't flying. The synopsis sounded really intriguing and I did think this book had a great premise and even more promising sequel potential. Nothing beat having a strong and feisty female main character and this book was pretty well-done on the world building as well as character depiction. I truly enjoyed reading this one, especially that plot twist I didn't see coming at all. What's more, even though the ending seemed a bit rushed, I liked where the next book might go based on the breadcrumbs I got at the end of this book. That being said, I couldn't wait for the sequel and I'd recommend this series to vampire lovers.

I really liked this! The story is set in a world where vampires have taken over the world with the US and UK under the Raven rule, and the other regions controlled by different vampire families. Humans are now confined to Safe Zones like livestock. This isn’t a high fantasy with a complex magic system, and I didn't expect it to be. The setup was clear enough for me, and I appreciated the dark, dystopian vibe.

The FMC, Emelia, definitely came off as bratty and petulant, especially in the beginning. Honestly, around the 18% mark she was grating on my nerves. But at about 20%, she started to grow as a character, and by the end, I was a fan. It’s a slow burn in terms of character development, and it definitely pays off.

As for the MMC—whew boy, he's got red flags. Some reviews I read complained that they didn't like him. That the insta love was too quick. That he was condescending...but maybe they didn't consider that it was because he was indeed condescending? First loves are tricky....

At its core, The Last Raven is a story about the quality of life, human slavery, and fighting for the meek and helpless. It has deeper themes that shouldn't overlooked. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the author does with the next book!

Thank you Netgalley and One More Chapter for this ARC!

Emelia is REALLY naïve, which drove me a little crazy at times. I gave her character grace due to her youth and sheltered upbringing. However, she is also an appropriate stand-in for the reader to learn about the world of the book because she doesn't know anything outside of her estate. I enjoyed the final third of the book the most as all the threads untangled, and I could see another book set here interesting.

I really enjoyed this book. I read many variations of vampire books, and I found this one to have many original ideas.
There were a few things that were predictable, but not enough to ruin the storyline for me.
    I'd rate it a 4 star overall.

I loved it. Loved the twist, although I admit I hoped (same as her, maybe it was another twist and maybe he was just pretending) but the last twist, I really didn't see it coming.... I need book 2....pleeeease..... Such an easy read and I really want next book 🫣🫣🫣🫣
