    If you like age-gap romance with intrigue and steam, you will want to read this book. Last in this series, but honestly, anything that Ms. Shield writes is worth reading. I believe that I have read all the books in this series and the next which is still ongoing; I cannot get enough. She measures her angst, intrigue and romance with steam in appropriate doses to make for a must-read page-turner every time.
    Quinn Ainsley is now 28yo and West Oaks’ deputy district attorney getting ready to help try her first big case. Because of unexpected circumstances during the pretrial, Quinn needs a bodyguard. Who she gets is none other than her best friend’s father, 49yo Rex Easton for whom she has had a crush for a decade. She was too young then but now she is a sophisticated and beautiful woman. Rex notices! The inevitable happens when close proximity is involved but oh my, the odyssey we go on. Because this is the last book, many of the other characters from previous books make a cameo appearance which is a nice touch. When it looks like the story is coming to a close, BAM, a twist. Whoa, loved it. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens and it comes highly recommended. The cover is not bad either ;-)

    I loved all of the West Oaks Heros books. I wish they wouldn't end, so a 7th book is definitely needed! I really loved Rex and Quinn with all the challenges because of their pasts. I think both handled their trials with grace and elegance. I would love a reverse age gap in one of Ms. Shields books because she did such a great job addressing the age differencein this book. I think I will start the whole series over again now.

    It’s hard to do an age-gap romance justice but this one was crafted so well that it was really difficult to put down. The hero was sexy, caring and brave. The heroine made all of us who have wished for our long time dream man feel her pain and her elation. I don’t know who did the cover art that made the man look like a buff 70 year old cartoon character who eats spinach but I would fire them. Can’t believe the series is done. I love this town and these characters!
