5.0 out of 5 stars A Sly and Grim Nod to Fairy Tales
Grimmer than the first book, The Search For Snow brings several characters from different stories and pits them against some truly villainous types. Plenty of overt and covert nods to fairy tales and lots of action!

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Enjoyable!
The 2nd instalment in the Villain Files is well-written, fast-paced, and very entertaining. I love how the author has put a new Sci-Fi spin on the dark heart of traditional fairytales, elevating the story beyond just another re-telling. The character interactions are fantastic, in particular, the relationship between Bertie and Minnie, and Minnie’s connection with Aldred and Dougal. My favourite characters are Wolfie and Blod, and their growing camaraderie forged by their attachment to Rosie. The action-packed story is well-rounded, with humour aplenty and a touch of pathos. I’m intrigued by the conclusion, which hints at a future crossover story featuring the ‘Villain Files’ cast and the characters from the author’s ‘Naquant Traveller’ duo. I can’t wait!

5.0 out of 5 stars Throws a whole new light on Fairytales!
Loved it. The first book was good, with its twist on the contemporary fairytale genre, but this knocks it out of the park. Mixing a dash of sci-fi with fantasy, we meet an inept sorcerers apprentice, the dastardly 3 little pigs (Porcos) who are blooming evil and a whole raft of other well known characters in this tale of a search for lost love. The storytelling is fresh, and the tale moves on at a great page turning pace. Suitable for young adults and fairytale loving adults alike. Highly recommended.
