Y’all. Monica Murphy WORE MY SOUL OUT with the emotional rollercoaster that is The Senior. This is Ava and Eli’s second/third chance (I don’t even know for sure) at love, and not only that it was also the finale to the College Years series. I honestly don’t want to spoil anything, so I’m going to keep it brief. We get Eli and Ava going through it. They are growing and changing and just dealing with their break up and trying to figure out if they truly truly belong together. My vote is yes, but I guess you’ll have to read and see 😅 Also Monica wraps up this series so well. We get all our favorite College Years couples, and some moments with the OG Callahan couples as well all throughout Ava and Eli’s story. It’s just a great read overall. So emotional. Like I really can’t say that enough I felt every single emotion from happy to mad to heartbroken while reading this book. Ok that’s all I’m saying. This series is a ride and must be read in order. So go… read them all now. [NOTE: Ava and Eli’s story starts in The Callahan series with Addicted to Him and Meant to Be.] *there is content in this one that some may find triggering.

The whole Calkahan series is one of my favorites. My fave characters are Eli and Ava. I kind of read the series out of order in that I read McCallahan Wedding before College years. Even so. I'm glad I ended on this one instead. Would love continuation stories of the kids. The last scene definately touched the heartstrings.

    The senior by Monica Murphy

    My Review **SPOILERS**

A book about a College football player, and a girl that’s his high school sweet heart. This book was one that I couldn’t put down. I was interested once I read the first chapter. Monica Murphy has such a good writing technique that always grabs my attention.

This book is about Ava and Eli, and their relationship has some tension because of some issues that go one in their lives. So one day Ava goes off to a college in Spain and Eli gave her an ultimatum. If she stays then they can be together and if she goes then they are broken up. So she goes and studies there while he’s here in the state playing football for his college. Well Ava comes back to town on a break from her school and she runs into the boy she loves. Eli Bennet. So this book is about Eli and Ava finding their relationship, and trying to compromise, what struggles life brings them along the way. I definitely recommend this book, but if you are not a fan of miscarriages and alcoholism then be ware at your own risk.

    All the stars
    All the happy tears
All the everythings for this book!

I could not imagine a more perfect ending for Eli and Ava's story. It was everything I wanted for them and more, and I’m so overwhelmed with love for them. Monica Murphy brought her A-game to this story! The Senior proved to be an epic conclusion to Eli and Ava's story. You will get all the feels and thrills with some beautiful moments and heartbreakingly stunning emotions. The epitome of an emotional roller coaster that has its highs and lows, but the highs are definitely worth all the tears along the way.

I hate to say too much and give anything away, but just know that this story was everything that Ava and Eli needed. It’s real, frustrating, raw, and sometimes messy. Ava and Eli's characters really resonates strongly with me - and that is entirely due to Monica Murphy and how she forged such a powerful connection to these characters with phenomenal character building and development. While they retain the core of who they are, Ava and Eli grow and mature, tackle demons, and make transitions into bigger and better things in their lives. I fell in love with this couple in their school years but I fell in love with them even more in this book.

The Senior concluded a journey that was all consuming and soul deep. This conclusion was not at all what I thought this book would be...but turns out it is exactly what Ava and Eli needed to forever cement their soulful connection. I dreaded making it to the end because I didn't want it to be over - I just wanted to live forever in this heartfelt, emotional and passionate relationship. These two have stolen my whole heart and their story was perfection.

I was really excited to finally read about Eli and Ava, but thought the story was extremely one sided. I read all of the previous books and while Eli could be harsh at time, it definitely seemed like he was having a very difficult time with their long distance relationship. And Ava does nothing but trash talk him and call him selfish and self centered, but long distance, for that long amount of time, is HARD. No, he did not handle her announcement of the trip well, but there was no taking into account how Eli had been feeling before or after. And finding that she intentionally found a college far from him so they could have some space? The constant trash talking about him to their mutual friends? I am sorry, that’s not a “I am still in love with him” type behavior. I just really felt like Ava really went with the victim mentality and took no responsibility for her side of their issues. The whole book was Eli being trashed and feeling isolated from people and having to apologize for everything. It was not great for me as there were definitely 2 sides of their problems.

Unfortunately I liked neither main character. At the point I stopped reading he is an immature ass, and ...well she is slightly better. I know it's a NA book, but omg...
Maybe I would have appreciated them more if I had read the previous books. But as a standalone I preferred to cut my losses at 17%

I really love the Callahans and friends! Monica Murphy is my favourite author when it comes to romance novels, it doesn't always depend on the same scenario and what I like the most is we get to read a story about each family member in other books.

The Senior was an angst filled story of sweethearts Eli and Ava. Throughout the previous 3 stories they’ve been the goal for all the couples, but in this it comes unraveled.

Their journey is a complex one which could be a trigger for some, but through adversity, they find a way.

What a ride Ava & Eli have taken us on. From the very beginning of their relationship, I have been hooked on their on/off romance and have loved watching their love for one another grow. I was so excited when I discovered that Monica was giving the pair another book and I was not disappointed with this final instalment of Ava & Eli’s story. From the get-go, the couple’s journey has been filled with ups and downs and this book was no exception. There was drama, emotion, a few unexpected twists and a whole lot of love. It also contained an epilogue that was pretty much perfect. I’m so happy that Monica decided to finish this series with Ava & Eli. If you loved Ava & Eli previously, this book is a must read.
