Her second book, The Afterlife of Walter Augustus – a contemporary fiction novel with a supernatural twist – went on to win the 2018 Kindle Storyteller Award and the Independent Publishers Gold Medal for Best Adult Ebook.
Born in 1984, Hannah grew up in the Cotswolds, UK. After graduating from university, she spent 15 years as a teacher of physics, first in the UK and then Thailand, Malaysia, Austria and Jordan. It was during this time, inspired by the imaginations of the young people she taught, she began writing short stories for children, and later adult fiction.
With over 20 publications spanning a number of genres and translated into half a dozen languages, Hannah has proven herself to be both an accomplished and prolific author.
Now settled back in the UK with her husband, daughter and horde of cats, she spends her days writing romantic comedies and historical fiction. Her first historical fiction novel, Athena's Child, was also a 2020 Gold Medalist at the Independent Publishers Awards.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2021I enjoyed the main characters. I found them relateable and likeable. The storyline was fun. I was rooting for them, the marriage and the book. I really wanted them to sell that book! I would recommend this book for anyone seeking an escape and a few laughs.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2020Funny book .... I do enjoy to laugh out loud at a book and a did at this one in parts. It was an easy read and very funny in parts. I will admit I love good old English humor and silly English men and this has both
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2020I gave it three stars because it was a bit slow for me, in the beginning. I think that these two should've gotten divorced honestly because they argued so damn much, but I don't have kids so maybe that's normal?? 😭 Idk their relationship seemed so unhealthy that I didn't really laugh, I cringed.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2020I was thinking is this going to be cheesy? It was funny and I enjoyed seeing where it was going.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2020Even as an American living in the US, the challenges of kids, marriage, and budgets ring true! Enjoyed it very much.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2020Definitely liked this. Certainly went down a road I wasn't expecting, pleasantly so.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2020A fun way to spend a few hours reading like watching a sitcom or romantic comedy. A quick and easy read.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2020I know this sounds like an erotic romance kinda style book based on the title. But it’s not. It’s really not. It’s more of a relationship development and comedy book.
Sarah and Andrew have been married for long enough to have a 5 yr old, 3 yr old and another one on the way. And let’s just say life hasn’t been all that kind to them financially. And this is the story of how they find their way back together and through their financial issues.
The main message I felt throughout this story was that of open communication and trust. It’s not like Sarah and Andrew don’t have honest conversations. It just felt like there was room for improvement in their communication overall.
Little things like how they felt about their house, how to try and make more money etc just didn’t quite line up between the two of them. Those are kind of important to get right in relationships. Those kinds of breakdown in communication can cause so many issues.
We even see this play out a little bit. Amongst other funny anecdotes. The post office one (you’ll know if when you read it) had me going “How is that the policy?!” I mean, I’ve gotta assume the whole “12 hours” thing was totally made up coz working people would never be able to meet that timeline.
For a quick, easy read that’s got some moments to laugh at this is a great book. I didn’t feel like there was a lot of depth or need to concentrate too much so it’s great for a break from life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny, warm and so easy to read. A winner!
Oh, I really, really enjoyed this book! Being halfway through 1984 by George Orwell, and stuck on a dull bit (sorry George!) I needed a break and wanted to read something light and funny. Having seen a review of this novel on the fabulous Anne Williams’ blog, I thought it sounded like just the thing I was looking for, so I duly downloaded it, and boy was I right to do so.
I loved Sarah and Drew. Their humdrum existence as young parents to two children, with another one on the way, is so realistically portrayed. Forget the organic baby food, the constructive play, the early learning, the environmentally friendly nappies, and all that malarkey. The reality is exhaustion, furry grapes in the snack box (not a euphemism), urine-soaked sheets, an ever-growing wash pile, and spending your last tenner on head lice lotion.
Sarah is worn out, heavily pregnant and coping with two demanding youngsters. Drew is a hard-working husband who commutes every day to his job in IT, copes with the incredibly inept Barry, and is oblivious to the charms and the desires of his boss’s niece, Polly.
Drew thinks he’s doing his best by Sarah, but she’s not impressed that he won’t approach his parents for help in buying a bigger house, and she can’t help but resent the fact that he gets to go out every day and mix with proper grown ups, while the only adult she gets to see on a daily basis is the dreaded Ms Perfect Mother at the school gates.
Money is tight, and when Drew even has to sacrifice his weekly office fry-up, he decides something has to be done. Which is when he comes up with the bright idea of writing an erotic novel. After all, if Naughty Nanny can make a fortune writing her saucy stories, surely he and Sarah can do the same? Except Sarah’s not remotely interested, which means Drew is going to have to attempt to write one for himself, and it turns out he’s not short of ideas.
I won’t give away any more of the plot, but I will say that Erotic Fiction is a fast-paced page-turning read. It’s light and joyous and so addictive I couldn’t put it down. Sarah and Drew are people I could relate to and root for. I loved little George and Eva, recognised the grandparents and their “absolutely adore the grandchildren but only once a month” attitude, and even liked Barry and Polly, despite them causing so much trouble for Drew.
As the book builds to a climax (no pun intended) I was absolutely flying through the text, desperate to know how things would turn out. The office party scene is brilliantly written, and the tension builds beautifully to a really nail-biting finale, which is so well done.
I absolutely loved every moment of the story and I’m so glad I saw Anne’s review, as I might never have picked it up otherwise.
Warm, funny, easy-to-read, with characters I loved and a plot line that was original and appealing, this is a book I would unhesitatingly recommend. Five stars all the way!

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny with loveable characters
So funny and easy to read! Perfect for reading before bed, on a lazy weekend at home or on holiday in the sun. This is a really great feel-good novel about a couple who start to write novels together but of course nothing goes smoothly and there are hiccups and misunderstandings along the way. If you like Sophie Kinsella books or used to be a Frasier fan (on TV) I think you'd love Erotic Fiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funny 'adult' family book
This was a perfect book. It was very funny. The family scenes are being played across homes every night. The 'erotic' parts are just as funny and relatable to most couples who've been together a while.
The post office science had me cringing for her but laughing out loud as well.
Can there be a sequel please I want to know how it went down at the school gates....

5.0 out of 5 stars Erotic Fiction? Note the question mark!
Sarah is expecting their third baby and Drew is hard working but oblivious to the fact that their home is too cramped and his wife is feeling beaten down by it all. He hits on an idea to make extra money. Eventually she’s on board with it. This leads to some classic comedy, some of which I saw coming but much of which I didn’t. It’s very well observed and is one of those quirky books you know you’ll remember.
