The Soul Summoner Series: Books 1-3 (The Soul Summoner Boxset Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 2,097 ratings

An ordinary woman with an extraordinary gift is out to stop evil with two irresistible men. One of them would die for her; the other would kill to keep her safe.

**Find out why The Soul Summoner series has been a #1 bestseller in Paranormal Suspense and has been downloaded over a half million times, earning thousands of 5-Star ratings.**

Seriously Addicting!
I am loving me some Elicia Hyder! This series has all my favorite genres rolled up into one book. Elicia has weaved a fantastic and very unique plot that's a supernatural thriller with tons of mystery, suspense and laugh out loud humor as well as some serious sex appeal. I love that Sloan is not your typical heroine and isn't predictable. Sloan, Adrienne, Nathan and Warren really make this story rock.

One of my new favorite authors...
After finishing the last Darynda Jones "Charlie" book and the latest Preston & Child "Pendergast" novel I was looking for something similar to immerse myself in. I read all genres-the classics, mysteries, history, etc., Trust me-this series was enjoyable

THE SOUL SUMMONER (Book 1)

Blessed or cursed with a connection to the souls of others, Sloan Jordan can see the best in people...and the worst. With nothing more than a glance at a photograph, she can judge the living from the dead and the good souls from the evil ones. For twenty-seven years, she's kept her ability a secret, but eleven young women have been murdered in the mountains of North Carolina, and Sloan may be the only hope of finding their killer.

She has just agreed to help Detective Nathan McNamara with the case, when a stranger--who is as alluring as he is terrifying--shows up at her doorstep with a dark past and another puzzling mystery: she can't see his soul at all.

Now Sloan is on the hunt for a deadly psychopath with two irresistible men. One of them would die for her, and the other would kill to keep her safe.

THE SIREN (Book 2)

All the missing victims of North Carolina’s deadliest serial killer have been found, all except Rachel Smith. When the FBI produces a photo proving Rachel is alive and well in Texas, one case is closed but another one is opened. Either this is a case of mistaken identity or there are more people than just Sloan Jordan and Warren Parish who seem to walk the earth without a soul.

Along with Detective Nathan McNamara, Sloan and Warren travel south seeking answers to the biggest mystery of all: determining who—or what—they really are.

But they stumble into a sinister web of lies and crime more heinous than they ever imagined. And the only truth this brave trio is sure of, is they'll be lucky if they make it out alive.

THE ANGEL OF DEATH (BOOK 3)

After stopping a serial killer and shutting down an interstate human trafficking ring, Sloan Jordan is ready for a break. But back at home in Asheville, her problems have only just begun.

The supernatural world has taken an interest in her, and strange things are happening. Her powers are multiplying, she's plagued by vivid nightmares, and a deranged young woman, babbling an unknown language, has been detained by police. The only clue to her identity--Sloan's name carved into her arm.

If that wasn't enough, the FBI has launched a full-scale investigation into her private life, believing Sloan might not be as innocent as she claims.

With her boyfriend, Warren Parish, deployed with the Marine Corps, Sloan is left in the protection of Detective Nathan McNamara. And their complicated friendship is about to be tested. Sloan has a secret...one that could turn even Nathan against her forever.

The Soul Summoner is a gripping urban fantasy and paranormal suspense novel that is set in my hometown of Asheville, North Carolina. It has edge-of-your-seat action and suspense as well as a juicy love triangle that will make you sweat and swoon. The Soul Summoner is the first book in the series.

I’ve enjoyed this series so far (I’m waiting for the release of #5), but I gotta say - HOW HAS NO EDITOR talked to the author about the overuse of certain phrases?? Seriously — When people in this series look at each other... they don’t “glance”, they don’t “look”, they don’t “meaningfully & soulfully look into their eyes” - they ALWAYS “cut” their eyes towards the other person. EVERY DAMN TIME! So much so that when, in the middle of book 4, I almost lost my sh!t when someone “sliced” their eyes at another person!! Please — EDIT THE DANG BOOK!! Also - people can complete phone calls without “disconnecting” them!! They can “hang up”, “Say goodbye”, “finish the call” or any number of options - WHY IS IT ALWAYS THE SAME?!?! That said, I enjoyed this series as a light, paranormal romance read. It wasn’t an award winner - which I wasn’t expecting anyway - but a nice paranormal romp from reality.. and for that purpose, it was great! I was wary of the whole “angel” plot, but luckily, the author didn’t get too religious with it, which was great. I would totally have walked away if it had turned into a Christian based book. The Angel theme stayed paranormal rather than getting too serious, which I appreciated. The romance was... complicated... which I also appreciated. I see, looking at some of the other reviews, that many people didn’t like that part of it. But, for me, it made it more realization. Life just isn’t so cut & dried... at least MINE never has been... so I could appreciate the complexities of the Nathan/Sloan/Warren triangle. Love isn’t easy - sometimes it’s messy... even when you don’t want it to be. Emotions can’t be controlled like some of the low-star reviewers etem to want.. My guess is that each of those people have been cheated on and it stuck with them. Well — so have I - but I have enough distance from it be be able to see how little one’s emotions care for one’s mental stability lol. The heart wants what the heart wants - and the heart isn’t always consistent!! Lucky you if yours has been!! Anyway — I’ve enjoyed this series so far and I’m looking forward to the next one - I even purchased it in advance!

    Angel's? Demons? Fallen Angel's? It's a rollercoaster.

Our girl has never met a stranger, because she can see their souls and see who they really are deep down, good or bad. People are drawn to her. She helps save a girl who calls her an angel. That gets her on the news and she is found by someone who's soul she can't see! The thrill of the unknown turns to love, but what about the guy who had the hots for her?

Oh then she meets her birth mother, who eventually tries to kill her. Her bf is sent off on a deployment, and his father shows up to protect her.

She is pregnant, and her baby could either save or destroy the world!

I will continue to delve into this series. Its so good. Detailed but not overly, and the story evolves very well.

Such great storytelling depicting a young and awkward female who is bold and strong yet vulnerable. Sloan is discovering her supernatural gifts, and the power of love between two men...one the love of her life...the other who holds her affections. You can expect mystery, edge of your seat excitement as Sloan discovers her powers and who she can and cannot trust to be there in her best interest. She leads with her heart and often trouble finds her. This book has it all... angels, and darkness, lover and best friend, work balance and the greatest gift any woman is blessed to have. More storytelling please!!

Very different paranormal story than I've read before. You get sucked into the story from the very start. Sloan is going through life with her best friend Adrienne and along comes Nathan, the cop who gets her to start using her powers for good. Then comes Warren into their budding romance and things get interesting very quickly. Warren has powers that come in handy on the cases and events that happen around them. The story flows well and each character added you either like it Hope they get what's coming to them. The story continues and I'll be reading it as I'm hoping Nathan has a HEA.

This book series was well paced to hold the readers interest and moved seamlessly into each book. It was so refreshing to read such beautifully phrased descriptions of all the pieces of the story. The characters are endearing and you feel quite attached to all of them by the end of the series, eager for the continuation and the development of other characters. Such an enjoyable read, well done Elicia Hyder!
The story was beautifully edited and not one flaw found.

Bought these after a recommendation from a colleague. Book 1 has one of the most accurate depictions of hemiplegic migraine I have ever seen in any form of media. As someone with the condition, I very much appreciate the representation. I only hope that someday I will learn I have HM for the same reason as the protagonist 😉
