    Another great book by Xavier Neal. This book was intriguing with touches of drama thrown in along the way.
    Josh was a pain in the behind, continually trying to get Ainsley under his spell but she wasn’t having it. He stole her phone and their was a video of Nate...not what you’d want anyone else to see, that she accidentally downloaded and Josh used that to get Nate fired.
    Then there was her mother, if you can call her that. Ainsley had to buy groceries with her money, wash, cook, clean. Which in and of itself isn’t bad, but the mother should have helped instead of expecting Ainsley to do it all. Then there’s the time Nate and Ainsley caught her with Nate’s father...she was an escort. Humm.
    Nate’s mom knew about his habits but she turned her head as long as she got to live the way she wanted.
    Happy ending. Nate sent Ainsley a dress for graduation but instead of going there she went to Nate’s and they made up. She graduated and Nate and his boys attended, her mom didn’t. She moved in with him and everything was right in their world.

    This is the first book in this series.

    This story follows substitute teach Nate Green and his student Ainsley. While this story may be taboo for some, I did not feel that it was.

    Nate is a teacher at Ainsley’s high school. There is something about Ainsley that calls to Nate. She is not your typical high school senior. Ainsley awakens something inside Nate that has long been dormant.

    I felt their chemistry and passion was well written and intriguing. I liked their dynamic and how the seemed to fit effortlessly together. I enjoyed their relationship, even if it is not exactly a normal one. Their bond and friendship, despite being in a relationship, seemed real and genuine.

    Ms. Neal did a great job writing these two characters. The writing flowed at a great pace. The story did not feel forced or contrived. I enjoyed meeting the other bros and how they all fit into Nate and Ainsley’s life. The bond between all the bros was heartwarming. The level of steam was just right in this story.

    This was a great first book in this series and I am anxious to read all the other bros stories.

    Let me start by saying I have read all the books in this series but I read them out of order. I'm glad I did. This was my least favorite of the four books. That is not to say that the book was bad but compared to the other three it was actually just boring. I almost abandoned the book several times. At some point I just did not care the relationship between the hero and the heroine. The fact that she was in high school was bothersome relative to the problems she experienced. The silliness with her phone being stolen just made me roll my eyes in conjunction with the fight the main characters had about her going on prom. At some point it just seemed juvenile.

    The Substitute was a great read I really enjoyed it. The age difference between Nate and Ainsley was not an issue for me because Ainsley was very mature and responsible for her age because of having to grow up with a mother like hers. To me it was a beautiful love story of two people who together brought out the best in each other. Even though they had some challenges, Josh and Nate insecurities they were still to overcome them and other obstacles including their parents with their love for each other. It may not be for everyone but for me it was love story.

    What a great story. I was not upset about the age as 11 years age difference is not that great. You have age difference in certain cultures for marriages going today. I rated this book a four because of the POV replay of Ainsley confrontation with Josh. You have to read about Josh unwanted attentions and text throughout the book. Not allowing the reader to read about the confrontation as it happened like with her mother was a disservice to the story and reader. What Josh did was foul .I wanted to read directly about the confrontation not a replay. Also Ainsley said no but way to politely with guys like that you have to more firm and somewhat rude. Like I'm not interested nor attracted to and will never date you. Ainsley lackluster refusal was why he persisted. Once a guy can't take a hint you stop hinting.

    Some people may like this bullsh!t of a story, but not me. I guess he wanted someone he could raise and teach all of his perverted ways. His perverted friends were no better. When he took her away, he left the door open so his perverted friend could watch him. WTF? She was a teenager and he was a teacher, don't care if he was a substitute, he should've had the moral compass to not have let it begin, go on or anything. I am so upset with this book. Were there any grown women in his life that he almost became a pedophile? I don't care to read anymore of the perverted bro series. A high schooler? This book makes me glad I don't have kids in school.

    I adored this book! As always Xavier's characters are well written, lovable and always have me giggling. Her storylines are full of twists and turns and always leave me wanting more. Nate Greene is definitely a bad boy and got my heart thumping. Ainsley is a beautiful firecracker and a joy to read about. I honestly love this lady's work. Pity I can only give 5 stars. Can't say anymore than I love it I love it I love it.
