The Things I Do for You: A Small Town Enemies to Lovers Romance (The Alexanders Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 1,636 ratings

The New York Times bestselling author of One More Day returns with an enemies-to-lovers tale about the things a man will do for the woman he hates to love. A standalone romance in a USA TODAY bestselling series. Over 100,000+ copies sold!

Nicholas Alexander doesn’t mind being called a playboy. His charm serves him well in business and a beautiful woman is always on his arm. Except the one he’s in love with. As difficult as she is beautiful, she's completely out of his league.

Raina Winters is not the kind of girl you bring home to mama. She isn't a sweetheart like her twin, works way too much and thinks love is a scam created by greeting card companies to sell flowers and chocolate. Her fiancé understands that she will never be the apron-wearing wifey baking cupcakes.

Or at least she thought he did. Until he's plastered on the front of a tabloid sucking face with his ex-wife. It's humiliating enough to be dumped right before her wedding, but she’s more upset about losing the one thing she wanted from marriage. A baby.

When Nick learns about Raina’s dilemma, his first instinct is to leave her hanging like she left him after their steamy one-night stand. But he finally has something Raina needs, so he offers her a deal. He’ll give her a baby if she gives him something he desires just as much.

Just two little words.

I. Do.

Warning: This book contains encounters with a drunken Elvis, pushy mamas, tabloid shenanigans, monster muffins and smoking hot chemistry between two people who aren't even sure they like each other. Just saying...

Review

"Nicholas is perfect leading man material..."
-- 4 stars, Romance Junkies

Everything about
The Things I Do for You was simply enchanting! The diversity in characters is beautiful and relateable, too. Every time I wanted to give my eyes a break, my heart wasn't in it. No, I had to stay up until the wee hours of the morning to read, read, and consume. Absolutely amazing!
-- 4 stars, Net Galley - Nadege Richards

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Nick when I started this book... but after the first couple chapters I had basically fallen in love with him... I'm in love with four of the male characters and I so wish I could hang out with the twins and Mara
-- 5 stars, GoodReads - Sade Carswell

This is a wonderful continuation of a great family romance novel. Malone has created a family that you will want to follow to the end... I have read all of her books, however this series is the best.
The Things I Do for You is a hit.

This is the story of Raina Winters and Nicholas aka Nick Alexander. Raina is Ridley's twin sister and engaged to Nick's younger brother Jackson. Jackson is a singer and music producer. We get to meet the Alexander family again in this story. There's Nick's brothers oldest Elliott and Bennett and Jackson the youngest. There's Mom the Julia and his Father, Mark. We even get introduced to Raina and Ridley's father, William. This story follows their struggle as they try to get pregnant. I thought Nick was mean because of how he treated Ridley in One More Day, the first book 📚📖 in the series. This story had romance 💒, it had angst, and of course there was plenty of drama. I don't know what took me so long to finish this book 📚📖 but it was well worth it. Read this story. I highly recommend it.

Very good romance story. I purchased this book because I really enjoyed the first book and I wanted to learn more as to why Nick and Raina's act the way they do. There is a lot of tension and angst between them in the beginning and you find out its because they both want the other but don’t think they can. Nick learns that Raina really wants is a baby and is willing to help her. The story follows their relationship as they struggle to get pregnant. Raina struggles to realize that she is loveable and needs it and stability. I enjoyed the characters as they grew. I’ve read other books by Ms Nana Malone and Ms M Malone combines and thought they were excellent. This wasn’t quite the same but is worth reading.

I started this series by reading the free prequel that is on Amazon. I knew there was a high chance I would get suckered into buying the other books in the series because it's a great way to get us hooked.

I have to say, I am a new fan. I love this series and don't feel like I was HOOKED in a negative way at all. The characters are wonderful & there's been a twist in each book that I didn't expect. I read the prequel on a trip & immediately come home to buy book one (after I read the first ½ of book 1 in the prequel book). I had to finish it and did so in a few short hours. Immediately bought book 2 and began reading it, just finished it this morning.
I am on my way to buy the rest of the series now.

Usually I get books on my iPad, read them & delete them. This is one set of books I will not be deleting and this in only the second series that I've ever kept...

Thank you for writing stories that keeps me on my toes.

The story is about Raina and Nick journey, In One More Day you are introduced to these characters and how they met. They had what you would a love hate relationship, they loved each other but hated admitting their vulnerability or feelings for each. Where one more day was about mystery and suspense this is more of a heartfelt journey of feelings all the while hiding behind a so called fake marriage and pregnancy. They story plays on your emotions of wanting to be cared for and adored by a man. I actually loved this story more than One More Day and think I am actually addicted to the series as a result of this book. The characters grow on you leaving you with a desire to hear more. A must read series.

I didn't really like Ri and her whining. I mean I understand that she has been hurt before, but please stop whining about it and be willing to take a chance on love again. My God, she was basically an emotional cripple. Who in their right mind would want to stay married to that, let alone have kids with her? Nick was a saint in my book for being willing to put up with that because I know I couldn't. Also, I prefer my leading ladies to be strong and not whinny. Life is what you make of it, and whining about past hurts stops you from living and being happy, which is the best revenge on those who have hurt you in the past. It's to live and live well. Duh!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read and I'm sorry I didn't know it was a series. I definitely as t to go read the first book and can't wait to read the next. I do love to read books about families as long as they are not all the same story. It seems these won't be since they don't all have the same occupation. Can't wait. I found a new author to read. Excellent writing and I love the characters.

Which is Raina best at? She's best at living her man. She just doesn't know it yet. The chemistry between Raina and Nick is off the charts and I don't mean just sexually. That is, "oh baby... Yeah." But I also found myself snickering over exploding cupcakes and crying over how they loved each other. Nick is every woman's dream husband. We all wish we had a Nick in our lives. This book was even better than the first and that's pretty hard to top. So if Malone has hit her stride the next one should be off the charts!!!

This was a great story. Two people in love from the first time they see each other. Their chemistry is off the charts yet they won't do anything about it. Then out of the blue Nick sees Raina in trouble and steps up to help but wants more than a thank you. He wants her.

I enjoyed this, happy family easy read. I didn’t read book one, wished I had but I feel I know enough about what happens from this book. I would recommend reading book one first as I think it would be nice to get to know all the people in the books.
