4.1 out of 5 stars 16 ratings

A Fate lacking in inhibitions and the wizard who holds her powers in his grasp collide in the latest book in Best-selling Author Charity Parkerson’s “Sexy Witches” series.

Out of the three Fates, Rowena is the wildest. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t seem to stay out of trouble. Now, she is in the biggest fix of all time. She’s lost one of Heaven’s Seers to the Devil, and she needs Randall’s help to find her.

Once upon a time, Rowena pulled Randall Cruz into a supernatural fight to regain her powers. In retaliation, Randall cast a spell that gave him the control she seeks. Except for a few angels, a zombie, and an outrageous pixie, Randall enjoyed his quiet life as owner of the local apothecary before Rowena pushed her way in. Since the day they met, he’s been forced to battle a pirate, give up wearing glasses, and now deal with the Devil. Every day, he braces for what will come next.

An undeniable attraction, a struggle for dominance, and a love to last through the ages comes to life in The Wizard & The Wanton.

I love how the book opens:

"The horde of naked bodies writhing in the street outside of Cruz Apothecary was Randall's first warning that the Devil had come calling."

The very first line sets the tone and hints on what is to come.

Rowena, the Fate, and Lena and Harper Murphy, who are both Seers for the Fates, are enjoying a cup of coffee outside, just across from the Randall's apothecary. Rowena, who had previously got in a spot of trouble, needs Seers' help to predict her future. At this precise moment, the Death drops in to say "Hi."

"The Wizard and The Wanton" is the latest book in Charity Parkerson's "Sexy Witches" series. Old fans will recognize many of the characters and have, no doubt, been waiting to see how the relationship between Rowena and Randall will progress. The readers will get the answer to that; however, the main romantic plotline, at least the one that steals the show, is buried in the secret that Dheath Angelo and Harper Murphy share.

The established preconceptions are put upside down and then sideways in this installment of the series. Will the "good guys" do the right thing? What is the right thing to do? How far will one fall to reunite with one's true love?

This book is a little more serious in its tone than the previous "Sexy Witches" stories. There is still plenty of comic relief, however, that is mostly provided by Rowena and Randall's quirky and dynamic relationship and Tam the Pixie's later appearance.

"The Wizard and The Wanton" is a must read for the established fans of the series. For the newcomers, my advice would be to pick up "The Sexy & The Undead," the first book of the collection. Here's hoping for more books in the "Sexy Witches" universe.

Playing with the devil: The Wizard & The Wonton by Charity Parkerson

I love this series because the characters rock! If you had to go up against a sexy devil, would you? Dheath is a very sexy devil who can send shiver down your spine, sexually and fearfully. He shows up on Randall's apothecary shop doorstep, he wants his help taking a power from Rowena ( she's a fate) who Randall has feelings for. Randall says he hasn't seen her in awhile, Dhearth says she right across the road in that coffee shop. She's there with Lena and Harper, Randall's ferocious with Dheath for even saying her name. He hasn't seen Rowena in a long time, he goes to the coffee shop and Rowena was happy to see him until she notices Dheath. Randall grabs her and walks away with her in tow. Harper can't keep her eyes off Dheath. When they return Harper and Dheath are gone. They knew they would need more help, they went to see my favorite fairy Tam. Can Tam, Rowena and Randall get Harper back? You'll want to find out, believe me.

I bought this because I enjoyed Parkerson's Inoperative: Cyborg One. Both are very short stories, thus not much character development, but for some reason, this one didn't engage me at all.

I never cared at all about any of the characters in W&W. I couldn't buy that Dheath would be cruel to everyone but Harper; it was like a scorpion stinging everyone but one person -- not its nature. The sex wasn't captivating either.

I read this in just over an hour -- at 110 pages, it seemed even shorter than Cyborg one (80 pages) and I found it hard to believe there was that many pages; can't imagine what it'd be like to read 16 pages, as in some of her short stories -- five minutes worth?

“The Wizard and The Wanton” is one of my favorite books in Charity Parkerson’s “Sexy Witches” series. I loved everything about it: from the mysterious and magic-filled setting of the New Orleans where angels walk the streets to the appearance of the devil to philosophical discussions of the relative merits of living souls vs. dead souls to tarot cards readings to the idea of stealing from the devil himself.

This book will keep you reading, guessing, and turning the pages.

Charity Parkerson has an amazing imagination that allows her to create worlds and characters that are as fantastic as they are believable and realistic. This book is filled with danger, adventure, forbidden and passionate love, and, of course, some sexy scenes that are “hotter than Hell,” to quote the book.

And here’s one of my favorite lines:

“If Heaven was a summer sky and a TV left on mute, then the Underworld was a starry night and an electric guitar with amps.”

A mesmerizing and inspiring tale. A wonderful book! Five stars.

In the final installment of the "Sexy Witches" series, things take a very dark turn as we're introduced to the devil and we finally get to see Randall and Rowena together.
Rowena always pulls Randall into her problems and this time it's a doozy when she loses one of Heaven's seers (Harper) to the devil.
Randall has a huge secret of his own involving the dark one, and so he's the last person Randall wants to tangle with. As usual when Rowena is involved, Randall is helpless against her and ends up joining in the adventure, but does Harper want their help?
This was a great end to another Parkerson series.

Loved, loved, loved it! By far, this is the best book in the series. I loved the idea of Dheath and Harper. It's a sexy combination that's so wrong, but oh so right. And this book is HOT. I don't recommend reading it in public because it can become quite embarrassing to have to stop and fan yourself. I absolutely cannot wait to read more books in this series!
