Writing is my first love. Even before I could read or put coherent sentences down on paper, I would beg the older kids to team up with me for the purpose of crafting ghost stories to share with our friends. This first writing partnership came to a tragic end when my coauthor decided to quit a day later and I threw my cookies at her head. This led to my conclusion that I worked better alone. Today, I stick with solo writing, telling the stories that would otherwise keep me up at night.

Most days (and nights) are spent feeding my tea addiction while defending the computer keyboard from my feline companions, Loki and Odin.

I remember when Threshold of Annihilation was first released, I was so excited. This was the first book I was excited to read after my car accident and concussion. This book is fantastic! So worth the wait. Though my concussion gave me no choice but to read this book, excruciatingly slow. I was determined! I didn't want to put this book down. This is one of my favorite series. I'm doing a re-read of this series and decided to write a review (in anticipation of Firebird #4).

This is the third installment of the Firebird Chronicles and it's a very satisfying read. You'll want to read this series in order they build. I have rated the first two books 5 Stars, and this one is better! It picks up right where Age of Deception left off. Kira's adventure takes us to the planet Jettie, where the quorum is taking place (think Earth's Olympics). We get to meet the Haldeel and they are definitely an interesting species. We get to learn a little about other new races. It is fun and refreshing to see Kira compete in the quorum. My favorite thing about this book is that Kira has stopped holding herself back physically. We are beginning to see her full potential. There are so many great action scenes it's hard to pick a favorite. Though I love Kira's sword fighting sessions. We learn some of Kira and Jin's secrets, but have a new set of questions. Kira's and Graydon's relationship progresses and I appreciate this pair being equally matched. Raider and Kira have some hilarious ways of rebuilding their relationship. Yay, teamwork!

This book had my emotions all over the place, but such a great read! I hope Kira teams up with Tuann or 43 to take this fight to the Tsavitee. I'd recommend this book for those interested in a space adventure with the side of a slow burn romance. The writing is great; the characters are engaging and the world building is excellent! Can't wait for Firebird 4.

There's an awesome Selene POV available to read T. A. White's website, under Free (fiction). It ties up loose ends.

Why are these books so good? Kira is a strong heroine who has a sad background which makes the reader root for her on every level. We want her to find friends, family, love, kick enemy butt, and have her heroism revealed for all because she is just that awesome. T.A. White’s world building is fantastic and once again I’m looking around through Kira’s eyes and soaking it all in. Her writing is very descriptive and despite the alien landscape you can very easily identify and “see” everything. It is so easy to lose yourself in a novel filled with great characters and vibrant worlds.

Kira is still playing cat and mouse with her love interest and fellow Tuann, Graydon. The most awesome thing about their relationship is not their amazing chemistry, it’s that this man allows her to be who she is and although he’s protective he doesn’t try to shelter her from danger. He see’s her for the person she is and although her actions make him nervous he encourages her growth instead of inhibiting it. You can’t help but love a guy like that.

We learn a lot more about Kira’s character and background because of her foster parent role to her “niece” Elena, the daughter of another lost Tuann child. Her role as mother reveals interesting aspects of her character that I really didn’t expect to see. No, she’s not the most nurturing woman but she is loving and shows that through her mentorship and guidance. Seeing that side of her added depth to her character that surprised me again. Be prepared for quite a few surprises to be revealed in this novel, the plot is now moving along pretty quickly and I can’t wait to see where the next book leads us.

I’m not going to spoil anything, but the means the author used to get her characters into the setting she wanted was… very contrived. Amateurishly so. It was hard to proceed past that feeling of betrayal, but I’m glad I pushed through, because now the story is getting really good…

Good god she's done it again! theres quite literally no words for how much I love this book series its by far my favorite book series i've ever read and I read at least 200 books a year. This book specifically I think was my favorite in the series so far, i'm in love with the new characters introduced. Ive been trying to get my friends to read this series but i think at this point they're just too tired of me talking it up that I have sworn one day I just might have to quite literally shove it down their throats.

I think it needs to be stated that I am NOT and have never been the kind of person to re read books, i've just never seen the point when you already know everything that has happened. This book series I think I read at least 2x a month. I don't think ill ever tire of it. The amount of detail thats put into these books is astronomical. people talk about Sarah J Maas and her ability to write with subtle foreshadowing to big moments. All honesty she has nothing on T. A. White. Throne of glass had been my favorite series since i read it when I was 13, 10 years ago and after reading this book series it went straight to the top of my favorite books list.

All I can say is to just do yourself a favor and read this book.

I love all the series written by T. A. White, but the Firebird chronicles have just something more than the others for me. book 3 was even better than the two previous ones (and I have read them many times). Packed with action, new details and secrets, new characters, this book has it all. One of my favourite books written by one of my favourite authors.
