Marcia has enjoyed writing for many years, but originally only for pleasure and friends or family. Marcia wrote Murderous Mishaps for a friend, who after regaling her with all the latest gossip said 'they wouldn't believe you if you wrote it down.' So she did. All based on true stories, but totally exaggerated, of course.

Since then, Marcia has written the ongoing Meredith & Hodge crime series. The Bearing Witness series, which has a touch of the paranormal & a cozy mystery series, The Little Compton Mysteries, and has recently released a new series, introducing JJ Jenson. There have also been a few standalone novels, but yes, they are all murder/mysteries. So far. . .

Marcia is married, with two children, two grandchildren and a German Shepherd - Ted. They live in Bristol, UK.

Ten years after the killer of a seven-year-old boy walked free because of a police mistake, someone is sending former DI JJ Jenson pictures tied to the case, a case that haunted JJ to the point he gave up being a cop. JJ’s not sure who’s “helping” him or why, but he knows he has to follow the photos and the clues where they lead. He still has a burning desire to get justice for that boy’s family.

This second entry in what I hope is a long-running series provides the backstory for Jenson, showing how the murder of the boy and the aftermath made him who he is. The author does a good job of weaving the past and the present together, showing how a murder can have far-reaching effects for all concerned, including law enforcement. It also fleshes out the relationship between JJ and his annoying but helpful sidekick, Davie, giving them both depth. I was sad when the story ended because I like these characters so much, but all the characters I cared about got a good resolution, sot that made it easier.

Particularly because there are so far only two books to the series, you could read these out of order. They each dovetail nicely with the other.

The author also writes the excellent Meredith and Hodge series, the equally entertaining Bearing Witness series, and the Little Compton Mysteries if you’re looking to fill up your reader.

I really like these characters—at least the good guys, that is. The bad guys not so much, but that’s as it should be. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone, so I will simply say this was very satisfying. When does Book 3 come out?

What a fantastic story! I laughed & I cried. It's got everything, adventure, murder & car chases. I love the characters in this series. I was so happy to know Davie made it into this book. I have read the other series from this author & have found them as equally entertaining. I look forward to what she brings us next.
