Touched By The Devil : Touch Aversion-Trauma Romance (Boys of Preston Prep Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,142 ratings

After living with my stepfather, I have one rule: Keep your damn hands to yourself.

Sebastian Wilcox broke that one the instant we met.

I thought that I’d finally escaped my small town and abusive family by getting a scholarship to Preston Prep, but I wasn’t expecting to run into a different kind of Devil.

Sure, on the outside he’s all easy smiles, sharp jawline and stomach-dropping sexiness, but underneath he’s toxic. Consumed by a quick temper and his own abusive background, Sebastian channels all his energy into fights, fast cars, and sex.

Oh, and kittens.

No matter how much I push back, or avoid, or tell him I don’t want him in my life, Sebastian is determined to make amends for the night he hurt me. He’s focused on taking the pain away and god, he’s good at it, but won’t stop until he’s under my skin and fought his way into my heart.

Quickly, I learn that at a school like Preston and with a guy like Sebastian, rules are always made to be broken. There’s just one thing I can’t trust him not to damage irreparably: my heart.

Touched by the Devil is an angsty, steamy, m/f traumance, and the third book in the Boys of Preston Prep Series. These books can be read as standalones or as a completed series.

This bad boy with a bad temper (Sebastian) that just needs to release it to the right person. It took him the entire novel to figure out what was clearly so obvious for everyone else reading, all he had to do was beat up that scum bag of his brother. He’s rich but humble, he takes care of his friends, he’s protective, caring, lovable, an adrenaline junkie, great with his hands (for mechanics and other purposes)

That being said I would’ve liked Sugar giving him a bit more of a push back after the breakup. I know it’s supposed to be HEA but still, the boy broke your heart girl… give him hell a bit. Idk maybe it’s just be being toxic 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Spicy scenes where good, would’ve enjoyed a bit more oomph to them. Just my opinion.

♥️ 📸 Touched By The Devil 📸 ♥️ (Book 3 in the Boys of Preston Prep series) by Angel Lawson & Samantha Rue

    5/5 ⭐️
    2/5 🌶️

♥️ Sebastian Wilcox is pretty elite. But his brother Heston is a storm that continues to come down on Sebastian - causing him so much traümä and threätêniñg everything that matters to him the most - including the girl from his past that he not only broke - he shattered.

📸 Sugar Voss is the girl from the other side of the tracks - the scholarship kid - and a girl with more scars than she can count. What could go wrong? Oh - only seeing the one person who drew out all of her trâumâ demons.

♥️ I truly enjoyed the push and the pull of Bass & Sugar. As much as he gave she gave back ten fold. She made sure he knew that she wasn’t one to mess with. But the moment she ends up in the Wilcox web everything changes. I truly loved seeing their relationship grow - and I loved that the “f it” moment came from the FMC! Normally you see these come from the MMC - but I really enjoyed that it came from her!

📸 The twists and turns to get to this HEA were long - rough - and heart wrenching. Sebastian trying to protect Sugar was hard because how he chooses to protect her can hürt her and ugh it was just beautifully written and finished out! I truly adored this story so much! One of those where you kind of wish you could read it for the first time again!

Sorry. Reyn’s dad is it for me. Immensely but this whole series has me completely and my life’s journey intertwined minus the leading man but hey book boyfriends are there for a reason. All I can say is I’m in love!!

Gosh I loved this roller coaster! All of these stories have my heart. I’ve enjoyed every moment of Bass and Sugar’s story. They wrecked me but I loved every second. Ugh wish George would get a story!!!

This book was another hit in the Boys of Preston Prep books. I loved Sebastian's energy but Reyn & Vandy are still my favorite. I would have liked to know what happened with her mom. Or Heston? I know he was left, don't want to give anything away, but surely his dad or his mom would have something to say. What happened since he was left in there? I would have thought, Sugar, wouldn't have let him give up on what he really wanted to do? What is it that he is supposed to become? Despite all my unanswered questions, this book was really good. Full disclosure though, I'm always down for a book that has a no nonsense, tough, won't just fall at her feet for the first "pretty" boy that comes her way. Would absolutely recommend but should definitely read the first two. On to the next!

    Spoilers......

This book seemed interesting and also seemed well written but i just couldn't get passed my dislike for the main h. She and the other H met at a bonfire and he picked a fight with some guy thay was harassing her. During the fight the h ACCIDENTLY gets hit. Yes I understand that was beyond painful and she was also dealing with abuse at home from her step dad but to constantly paint the H as the bad guy and get upset when people defend him was just so frustrating. YOU were the one that got in the middle of two grown men fighting. What did you think was going to happen ???? The H tries to apologize multiple times and she still treats him like he did it on purpose.I just couldn't with her and didn't end up finishing the book.

I think this has been my favorite of the three books in this series I have read so far.

The authors have been putting the characters through the wringer. Sugar's past is just tragic and Bash's brother is actually giving Satan a run for his money.

Lots of sweet moments and some great Steamy ones.

    Highly recommended.

Negative points: the fact that he left her there, without helping, in that summer night at Briar cliff was disgusting and he never apologized for it. How Sydney seems to be so important in every book, after this I know for a fact that she a big part of the next one too, she is so annoying, I don'tget why a side character has to be so present like her, just awful. The ages of the characters is something the authors are not good at making clear, especially with the Adams twins, they were little kids in the first book, and 1 year later freshman athigh school????? Heston is so repulsive since the first book that I am actually scared to read his book, it will be extremely perfect or either terrible. I really think that the story between Sebastian and Georgia is so unnecessary. And I didn't like the ending, their fight, the classic, boy hurts girl to protect her, so not original and painful. He said some really mean things and I feel like she shouldn't have accepted him so soon.
Positive points: the pace is so good, the development of the story, how she breaks free of her fears and let him in, how sweet he was to her all the time. Gosh the way he treated her untin their fight was amazing. The couple has amazing chemistry and really work well together.
For those who are wondering, touch aversion-trauma means here that she couldn't bear people touching her in any way, at all. And seeing her overcoming this with the help of Sebastian was magic. It is a sweet book.

5.0 out of 5 stars This series just keep getting better and better!

Read the blurb; now you know the set up. To truly understand Bass you have to read the earlier books in the series, in those you will hear exactly what his brother is capable of and how that behaviour ripples out (even though Bass lists this out near the end of the book), and you will understand Bass' emotional state.

Sugar is a completely new character, her character got a vague mention in book two, but this book is all about her. She is trying to escape past events and is focused on her future, too bad fate threw a spanner in the works with that one. (pun totally intended). Her's is a story of determination, looking to the future, optimism, and growing independence. She's aware of her weakness but is not defined by them.

What I admire about these writers, is that they do not just focus on the two main characters; every character they write, be it main or background, has a role, a detail, a backstory that threads through the whole series so that these book just keep getting better and better. It is a wonderful thing to read, but I digress. While some parts of this tale move with high drama, there is a loving consistent patience that keep driving this story to it's progression (I won't say completion because that's not the way these characters stay, I'm sure they will get a mention in book 4 and beyond). There is a theme of change for the better throughout this book, there is an nurturing element that is delightful.

There's a chapter of book 4 at the end; pretty sure I'm going to have a love/detest relationship with that one, if I ever get the courage to read it. Yikes!

Well written, angst ridden; previous as well as new characters come to life. Mental health issues and physical violence are treated intelligently in a detailed manner whilst still creating interest. I enjoyed the book.

Sebastian and Sugar's story deals well with the affects of bullying . Both of them had their demons . It's a good story and a good edition to this series . Well worth a read .
